RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Percutaneous vertebral body stenting system (VBS) can alleviate patient's pain, recover the height of vertebral body, and correct local kyphosis, but there is no definite clinical study to show that It has obvious advantages over percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP). OBJECTIVE: To compare the short-term effect of VBS versus PKP in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture. METHODS: Forty patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture who received VBS or PKP between January 2017 and December 2018 In the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were included in this study. They were divided into a VBS group (n=15) and a PKP group (n=25) according to surgery method. According to whether fluoroscopic operation was performed in retroextension position, two subgroups were designated: VBS retroextension group (n=7) and PKP retroextension group (n=14). RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Compared with the PKP group, the amount of bone cement injected Into the vertebra was greater in the VBS group (P 0.05). Compared with preoperative situations, Visual Analogue Scale score was significantly decreased after surgery In both VBS and PKP groups, and further decreased at the last follow-up (P 0.05). These results suggest that VBS and PKP are effective in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. VBS can better correct compression kyphosis deformity when more bone cement Is injected. The difference of therapeutic efficacy between two surgical approaches can be reduced with proper surgical position, keeping the surgical segment In the retroextension position.

RESUMO

Neck injuries caused by traffic accidents increase by years, timely and effective treatment can greatly reduce the mortality rate. This paper summarized the characteristics, image features, evoked potential detection and serum markers detection of neck injury caused by traffic accidents. Then, the condition of injuries was comprehensively considered and analyzed, and the priorities were correctly judged. The injuries were classified and treated. It is conducive for the attending doctors to carry out precise individualized first aid and surgical treatment for the patients, in order to save lives to the maximum extent, reduce disabilities, and prevent and treat post traumatic stress disorders.

RESUMO

Objective: To summarize the guiding role of imaging evaluation of oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF) in recent years. Methods: The reports of OLIF surgical imaging research at home and abroad in recent years were extensively reviewed and analyzed. Results: Preoperative imaging evaluation plays an important role in guiding the operation of OLIF, the placement of fusion Cage, the selection of indications, and the reduction of complications. Conclusion: Detailed preoperative imaging evaluation can correctly estimate the indications of OLIF, and avoid the nerve, blood vessel, and muscle injuries.

RESUMO

We evaluated the patient in the early, advanced or healing phase of the disease by MRI in the treatment of chronic brucellosis spondylitis and to guide the clinical treatment.MRI images of 40 patients with clinically diagnosed chronic brucellosis spondylitis were analyzed retrospectively. The imaging findings of early, advanced and healing patients were summarized.MRI showed abnormal signals in the vertebral body, intervertebral disc, paraspinaI and psoas muscle. It is early stage if the intervertebral space was normal, and advanced stage if combined with interverbral space stenosis. It demonstrated short T1 and short T2 signal or similar to the normal vertebral body, combined with intervertebral space stenosis, for the healing stage.According to the specific imaging manifestations of chronic brucellar spondylitis in the course of disease development,it is possible to evaluate the clinical stage of the disease and guide the rational selection of clinical treatment.

RESUMO

Objective To review the various imaging modalities and their appropriate applications in the preoperative evaluation of both donors and recipients in liver transplantation (LT). Methods All the relevant literatures were reviewed. Different kinds of imaging modalities have been used in potential LT donors and recipients to assess the volume, the parenchyma and the vasculature of the liver, the biliary system, and the extrahepatic region of the upper abdomen and beyond. The techniques, the imaging findings, and the merits and shortcomings of various imaging modalities were presented. Results Traditional imaging techniques are still of valuable, while CT can provide rich and accurate information. "One-stop" comprehensive MR examination is emerging as the method of choice for the preoperative evaluation LT recipients and donors. Conclusion Each imaging method has its merits and limitations. Those imaging methods which can provide accurate and comprehensive information are likely to have better application future.
