RESUMO

With the modernization and internationalization of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),the requirement for quality control has increased. The quality marker(Q-marker)is an important standard in this field and has been implemented with remarkable success in recent years. However, the establishment of Q-markers remains fragmented and the process lacks systematicity, resulting in inconsistent quality control and insufficient correlation with clinical efficacy and safety of TCM.This review introduces four multi-modal integrated approaches that contribute to the discovery of more comprehensive and accurate Q-markers,thus aiding in the establishment of new quality control patterns based on the characteristics and principles of TCM.These include the whole-process quality control strategy,chemical-activity-based screening method, efficacy, safety, and consistent combination strategy, and TCM theory-guided approach.Furthermore, methodologies and representative examples of these strategies are described, and important future directions and questions in this field are also proposed.

RESUMO

Background:Although sustainable control since 1950s has achieved great successes, schistosomiasis japonica remains a major public health problem in China.Since 2004,a new integrated strategy was developed aiming to control the transmission of Schistosoma japonicum through the implementation of a package of interventions. To date,no systematic review or meta-analysis assessing the effectiveness of this new integrated strategy for schistosomiasis control in China has been published. We performed a PubMed-based bibliometric assessment of publications on the new integrated strategy for schistosomiasis japonica control in China,to understand the global transmissibility and sharing of the new integrated strategy. Methods:An in-depth bibliometric analysis of all publications on the new integrated strategy for schistosomiasis japonica control in China was performed through a PubMed search using the terms "schistosomiasis" and "China,"from January 1,2004 to August 31,2018.All titles and abstracts were read carefully, and the publications reporting the effectiveness, experiences, lessons,or problems of the new integrated strategy were included in the bibliometric analysis.Results:Overall,2,361 titles were screened, and 70 eligible publications were accessed for analyses, including 23 studies in English, published in 15 international journals, and 47 studies in Chinese with abstracts in English, published in 3 national journals.Chinese Journal of Schistosomiasis Control (Zhongguo Xue Xi Chong Bing Fang Zhi Za Zhi) published 60% of the research output,Research articles (48.6%) and short reports (37.1%) were the dominant manuscript types.Furthermore,471 contributing authors from 277 affiliations across 9 countries produced these 70 publications. Conclusion:This is the first PubMed-based quantitative analysis of the research output of the new integrated strategy, and our data indicate a low global transmissibility of Chinese new integrated strategy. We therefore call for more research outputs of the new integrated strategy for schistosomiasis japonica control in China to be communicated through international platforms.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the use of integrated two methods in vitro in prediction of eye irritation caused by cosmetics.Method Chorioallantoic membrane vascular assay ( CAMVA), bovine corneal opacity and permeability (BCOP) and Draize rabbit eye irritation test were used to determine the predictive potential of eye irritation of 60 kinds of cosmetics. Results CAMVA method was able to distinguish 41 non-irritant samples and 18 irritant samples.BCOP method was able to predict 35 non-irritant samples , 21 mild-moderate irritant samples and 4 severe irritant samples . Combination of CAMVA and BCOP methods could obviously improve the identification ability of irritation , and the classification consistency with Draize rabbit eye irritation testing reached 98.3%.Conclusions The integrated test strategy combined BCOP with CAMVA can be used to appropriately predict ocular irritation of cosmetics , with a prediction range covering non-irritant to severe irritant samples .

At Higher Education Centers, the development of science management is the result of new requirements before the changing trends of the university paradigm. In this context, research management has become the most efficient way of carrying out strategies proposed by institutions to respond to society's demands. This process bases on the definition of its role within the institutional strategy; subsequently, the corresponding priority criteria are established. A weak linkage between the university and the research center is one of the main limitations of centers connected to universities. This paper presents the design of an Integrated Strategy to properly include the Center of Immunology and Biological Products in the research activity of Camagüey's Medical School. It also includes a theoretical approach of research management to fully carry out the demands of practice. This research center should become an active institution promoting change from the inside through connections that most likely cause changes in the external environment.
