Los adhesivos son materiales de amplio uso en procedimientos de odontología restauradora que han tenido gran evolución en los últimos años, su función principal es unir la estructura dentaria previamente grabada al material restaurativo con el fin de crear una unión micromecánica y químicafuerte y duradera, su composición y las complejas reacciones químicas que originan el fenómenoadhesivo tienen influencia en su comportamiento biológico.

Adhesives are materials widely used in restorative dentistry procedures that have evolved greatly in recent years; their main function is to attach the previously etched dental structure to the restorative material in order to create a strong and lasting micromechanical union; their composition and the complex chemical reactions that cause the bonding phenomenon influence their biological behavior.

Entre las recomendaciones más frecuentes, a cerca del uso de un determinado material restaurativo, se encuentran el conocimiento mismo del material y su técnica de manipulación. El concepto anterior puede aplicarse al área de los materiales de uso directo a base de resina, o mejor conocidos, como resinas compositas. Su empleo como material de elección de uso directo en el sector anterior es actualmente incuestionable, pero dada sus diferentes variedades y características, los criterios de selección y su manipulación, adquieren hoy en día una relevancia especial. Este trabajo investigativo, nace precisamente de la inquietud de verificar el nivel de conocimiento y destreza en el uso, de las resinas de micro-relleno, de parte de un grupo determinado de Odontólogos, que por coincidencia o conveniencia ejercen dentro de un área geográfica determinada y de quienes puede decirse que ejercen bajo similares condiciones. Para el logro de los fines de ésta investigación se elaboró un cuestionario, con preguntas dirigidas a obtener las respuestas que permitirían determinar el grado de conocimiento de éstos materiales, el interés por obtener la información relativa a sus características y propiedades, los criterios de selección de los mismos y finalmente su apego a las indicaciones y técnica de manipulación por parte del fabricante. El instrumento fué pasado a 65 Odontólogos de la práctica privada, habiendo recibido respuesta satisfactorias de 53 de ellos y de los cuales pudo obtenerse una valiosa información, que permite arribar a ciertas conclusiones y sugerencias, que de seguirse en la práctica, permitirán mejorar la calidad del servicio profesional, en beneficio de los pacientes.

Among the most frequent recommendations, regarding the use of a certain restorative material, are the knowledge of the material itself and its handling technique. The above concept can be applied to the area of ​​resin-based materials for direct use, or better known, as composite resins. Its use as a material of choice for direct use in the previous sector is currently unquestionable, but given its different varieties and characteristics, the selection criteria and their handling, they acquire special relevance today. This investigative work is born precisely from the concern to verify the level of knowledge and skill in the use of micro-filler resins, on the part of a specific group of Dentists, who by coincidence or convenience practice within a specific geographic area. and of those who can be said to practice under similar conditions. To achieve the purposes of this research, a questionnaire was developed, with questions aimed at obtaining the answers that would allow determining the degree of knowledge of these materials, the interest in obtaining information related to their characteristics and properties, the selection criteria of the same and finally their adherence to the indications and manipulation technique by the manufacturer. The instrument was passed to 65 dentists from private practice, having received satisfactory responses from 53 of them and from which valuable information could be obtained, which allows reaching certain conclusions and suggestions, which, if followed in practice, will improve quality. of professional service, for the benefit of patients.
