RESUMO
Através dos tempos, os profissionais da odontologia têm-se empenhado em solucionar, de forma estética e funcional, as ausências dentárias, devolvendo aos seus pacientes uma mastigação satisfatória e o convívio social afetado por tais situações. Sendo a face extremamente importante na composição estética do indivíduo, os dentes ântero-superiores assumem um papel fundamental na harmonia estética da face. No presente artigo, o autor relata um caso clínico de fechamento de diastema utilizando coroas livres de metal, sistema in-ceran, e faz uma análise comparativa da resolução desse evento com técnicas de dentisteria e ortodontia.
Throughout the ages, from an aesthetic and functional point of view, dental professionals has struggled to return to their patients a satisfactorily chewing motion as much as restoring the social interactions that may have been affected by such conditions. Being the face of enormous importance for aesthetic composition of the individual, teeth antero-superior assumes a key role in the aesthetic harmony of the face. In this article, the author reports a case of diastema closure using metal free crowns, system in-ceran and makes a comparative analysis of the resolution of this event with techniques of dentistry and orthodontics.
