AIM:To evaluate the visual outcome of Oculentis Mplus intraocular lens(IOL).METHODS:Totally 20 eyes in 20 patients received phacoemulsification and Oculentis Mplus intraocular lens implantation were as test group,and 20 eyes (Aspira-aA IOL) were as control group.The following postoperative examinations were performed after operation for 3mo:uncorrected visual acuity of distance and near,refractive results,UBM examination,the rate of wearing spectacles and the complications.RESULTS:At 3mo after surgery,distance visual acuity of test group with Oculentis Mplus IOL were 0.10± 0.03,the difference with control group was not significant (t=1.74,P＞0.05).Eyes in test group had an uncorrected near acuity 0.11 ±0.04,the difference with control group was significant(t=15.53,P＜0.05).The rate of wearing spectacles was 5％ in test group and 100％ in control group.The rate of uncomfortableness was 5％ in test group.CONCLUSION:The implantation of Oculentis Mplus IOL not only has a good distance uncorrected visual acuity,but also with better near visual acuity.The surgery is safe,reliable and no special complication induced.

To discuss the latent variable growth curve model of longitudinal data and give its implementation method in Mplus.The application of Mplus software has been used to deal with the longitudinal data of mental health status of college students in an university.Results show that the model can process the longitudinal data with latent variables,which can compare the differences of the overall development trend and individual development,also taking a covariate into the model to improve the effect of model fitting.Using Mplus software to process the longitudinal data with latent variables,the program is simple and easy to operate.This study provides the latent variable growth curve model of longitudinal data and its procedure of implementation in Mplus,and the statistical methodology guidance and reference for practical applications of epidemiological cohort study.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the clinical outcomes of patients with refractive aspheric multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) (Lentis Mplus(R) LS-313) implantation. METHODS: Sixty-eight eyes of 53 patients received refractive aspheric multifocal IOL implantation. Uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) at a long distanc, as well as intermediate and near distances were measured on the first day, after two weeks, and during the first, third and sixth months postoperatively. Optical quality was evaluated using the Optical Quality Analysis System II (OQAS II). High-order aberrations (HOA) and patient satisfaction questionnaires were evaluated at three months post-operation. RESULTS: At the six-month postoperative visit, the mean UCVA at a long, two intermediate (63 cm, 100 cm) and a near distance were 0.06 +/- 0.07, 0.18 +/- 0.14, 0.15 +/- 0.13 and 0.11 +/- 0.10 log MAR, respectively. The means of the objective scatter index, modulation transfer function (MTF) cut off value, Strehl ratio and pseudo-accommodation range measured by OQAS II were 1.20 +/- 0.69, 34.15 +/- 9.53 cdp, 0.17 +/- 0.05 and 3.09 +/- 0.25 D, respectively. HOA of 5 mm and 6 mm were each 0.61 +/- 0.14 and 1.07 +/- 0.20, respectively. Eighty-two percent of patients were satisfied with the postoperative results, and 71% of the patients reported that they would recommend the procedure to others, while 24% of patients reported moderate or severe visual disturbance at night. CONCLUSIONS: Implantation of the refractive aspheric multifocal IOLs in patients with cataracts provided excellent distant, intermediate, and near visual outcomes and high patient satisfaction as well as presbyopia correction.
