RESUMO

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for simultaneous determination of ephedrine hydrochloride,nitrofural and di-phenhydramine hydrochloride in Compound diphenhydramine nasal drop. METHODS:RP-HPLC method was adopted. The determi-nation was performed on Inertsil ODS-3 C18 column with mobile phase consisted of 0.05 mol/L potassium dihydrogen phosphate buf-fer(pH 7.0)-acetonitrile(gradient elution)with flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelength was set at 256 nm,and the col-umn temperature was 35 ℃. The sample size was 20 μL. RESULTS:The concentrations of phedrine hydrochloride,nitrofural and diphenhydramine hydrochloride ranged 122.1-366.3 μg/mL(r=0.9999),5.2-15.5 μg/mL(r=0.9998)and 31.5-94.5 μg/mL(r=0.9994),respectively. The limits of quantitation were 2.442,0.010,2.520 μg/mL,and the limits of detection were 0.810,0.003, 0.830 μg/mL,respectively. RSDs of precision,stability and reproducibility tests were lower than 1.0%. The recoveries of them were 99.2%-101.7%(RSD=0.9%,n=9),96.4%-102.0%%(RSD=1.7%,n=9),100.2%-101.9%(RSD=0.4%,n=9),respec-tively. CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple,accurate and reproducible,and can be used for simultaneous determination of ephedrine hydrochloride,nitrofural and diphenhydramine hydrochloride in Compound diphenhydramine nasal drop.

RESUMO

Objective: To compare the absorption characteristics of Luodian Borneolum and muscone after nasal unidirectional perfusion with different Xingnaojing preparations in rats. Methods: The nasal unidirectional perfusion model was used, the contents of Luodian Borneolum and muscone were determined by GC method, and the absorption of Luodian Borneolum and muscone in Xingnaojing Nasal Drop (XN) and Xingnaojing Microemulsion (XM) were compared. Results: The absorption rate constants (Ka) of Luodian Borneolum in XN and XM were (1.00 ± 0.02)and (0.76 ± 0.03) min-1, respectively, and the Ka values of muscone in XN and XM were (0.76 ± 0.02) and (0.58 ± 0.10) min-1, respectively. Conclusion: The absorption of Luodian Borneolum and muscone in XN are both faster than that in XM.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To determine the content of ciprofloxacin in ciprofloxacin lactate chitosan nasal drops by RP-HPLC.METHODS: The sample was separated on XTerra RP18 chromatographic column with 0.05 moL?L-1 citric acid-acetonitrile(80∶20) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.8 mL?min-1.The detective wavelength was set at 277 nm;The sensitivity was 2.000 AUFS;The column temperature was maintained at 30 ℃ and the sample size was 10 ?L.RESULTS: The linear ranges of ciprofloxacin lactate was 10~200 ?g?mL-1(r=0.999 9) and its average recovery rate was 99.46%(RSD=1.13%).CONCLUSION: This method is rapid,accurate and suitable for the determination of the content of ciprofloxacin in ciprofloxacin lactate chitosan nasal drops.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: This study was designed to compare sinonasal distribution of topical nasal drops and spray according to head positions and to suggest optimal head position for effective topical delivery. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: The study group included five healthy subjects (normal group) and five patients who had got endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS group). A visual assessment of the intranasal distribution of nasal drops and spray was made using Fluorescein Blue Filter System after instillation of TobraDex(R) drops and Nasonex(R) dyed with 0.2% fluorescein. Each group took five kinds of head position for nasal drops and two for nasal spray. RESULTS: Drops instilled with head back position were found along the nasal floor, and drops with Mecca position and vertex to ground position were found in the olfactory cleft in both groups. Drops instilled in Mygind position and Ragan position were found in the middle meatus and head of the middle turbinate in the normal group, and in the middle meatus, ethmoidectomized cavity, and maxillary sinus in the ESS group. The head neutral position showed effective distribution to the septum, lateral nasal wall, and middle turbinate in the normal group, and in the ethmoidectomized cavity in the ESS group, compared to the head forward position which distributed the drops lower depending portion. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that, for the effective delivery of nasal drops, Mecca position and vertex to ground position are recommended to the olfactory cleft, and Mygind position and Ragan position are proposed to the middle meatal region in non-surgery patients and ethmoidectomized cavity and maxillary sinus in post-ESS patients. Head neutral position is recommendable for effective delivery of nasal spray compared to head forward position regardless of ESS.

RESUMO

Objective: To determine the contents of ?-Asarone and ?-Asarone in Xing Nao nasal drops. Methods: HPLC was used with ODS C18 column (150mm?4.6mm, 5?m). Methanol mixture : water being 6 : 4 and Patassium biphoepate 1.4 and Dodecyl Sulphonic acid sodium salt 1.2g in 1000mL mixture served as mobile phase, detection wavelength at 257nm and flow rate being 1.0mL/min. Results: The mean recovery was 99.38 %(RSD=2.25 %) for ?-Asarone and 96.59 %(RSD=2.16) for ?-Asarone. Conclusion: this method is simple,rapid and accurate.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for determination of the principle components in streptomycin sulfate in Streptomycin sulfate/cod liver oil nasal drop.METHODS:UV spectrophotometry was use to determine the absorption of streptomycin sulfate at detection wavelength of 521 nm.The content of streptomycin sulfate was also calculated.RESULTS:The detection concentration of streptomycin sulfate has favorable linear correlation within 250~700 ?g?mL-1 (r=0.999 8).The average recovery was 99.75% (RSD=0.98%).CONCLUSION:The method is convenient,accurate and suitable for quality control of the preparation.
