RESUMO

Objective:To explore the peer support experience of newly graduated nurses during standardized training period.Methods:Using phenomenological qualitative research methods and purposive sampling, from April to December 2020, 32 new nurses who participated in the standardized training peer support program in the Affiliated Hospital of Yangzhou University were selected. Semi-structured interview was conducted and Claizzi content analysis method was used to analyze the data.Results:Peer support during the standardized training of new graduated nurses could be summarized into four major themes and eleven sub-themes. Theme 1: cognition and attitude (emotional security, adaptive guidance, recognition of the value of peer support, positive intention to support). Theme 2: peer support needs (department-related information needs; knowledge and skills experience needs; emotional communication needs; career growth support needs). Theme 3: peer support experience (adaptive behavior changes, cognitive and emotional changes, differences in perceived expectations of supporters and support effects).Conclusions:During the standardized training, we should attach importance to the important supporting role of peer support for new nurses. By building a peer support platform for new nurses and broadening experience exchange channels, we can enhance the positive experience of peer support, so as to promote the role adaptation and career growth of new nurses.

RESUMO

Este estudo teórico aborda os cenários profissionais contemporâneos, evidenciando alguns efeitos das lógicas globais, como a instituição de projetos a curto prazo, na relação indivíduo-trabalho e nos modos de subjetivação. Tendo em vista que a população brasileira mais afetada pelas recentes transformações no mercado de trabalho consiste nos jovens que buscam o primeiro emprego, objetiva analisar o processo de inserção profissional de recém-graduados, identificando as principais estratégias adotadas frente à incerteza dos novos tempos. Estas, ao que parece, configuram-se mais como falta de opção do que como escolha pessoal e legitimam a responsabilidade individual, atribuída pelo discurso neoliberal, como condição exclusiva para o sucesso profissional. Conclui-se que o conhecimento e a reflexão crítica sobre os imperativos que regem a inserção no mundo do trabalho na atualidade tornam-se imprescindíveis nas práticas da formação universitária e nos processos de escolha e de planejamento de carreira


This abstract study shows an approach on the professional contemporary scenario, bringing the evidence of the global logic effects, such as the establishment of short term projects in the working-individual relationship and its subjective manners. Taking into consideration that the most recent changes in the working market affect mainly young people seeking for their first job, this study aims to analyze the professional inclusion of the new graduated professionals, trying to identify the main strategies adopted to face nowadays uncertainty. These uncertainties, as they seem, are due to the lack of options rather than personal choices and they legitimate the individual responsibility, attributed to neoliberal speech as an exclusive condition to professional success. A possible conclusion is that knowledge and critical consideration about the imperatives that rule professional inclusion on the working environment nowadays become vital in the academic practice formation and in the career planning, as well as in the career choices
