RESUMO

Objective To analyze the epidemiological status and drug resistance to common antibiotics of non-fermentative bacilli in our hospital,in order to provide the guideline for reasonable use of antibiotics. Methods A total of 825 strains of non-fermentative bacilli from various clinical specimen were analyzed retrospectively. Results A total of 825 strains of non repetitive non-fermentative bacilli were isolated. The first of the three vibrionaceae were 301 strains Pseudomonas Aeruginosa accounted for 36.48%,279 strains of Acinetobacter baumannii accounted for 33.81%,a few malt raise form afterbirth fungus 245 plants accounted for 26.69%.Strains isolated from phlegm, urine and pharynx swab were 580(70.30%),105(12.73%) and 68(8.24%) respectively.Infections with non-fermentative bacilli occurred in the department of respiratory medicine, surgery and ICU were 290 (35.15%),212 (25.70%) and 125 (15.03%) respectively. The susceptibility results of antibiotics showed that the resistant rate of bactrim,Cefotaxime, and Ceftriaxone was beyond 85.00% with Pseudomonas Aeruginosa.Acinetobacter baumannii strains of Amikacin,Aztreonam, cefotaxime resistance rate was beyond 36.00%,while beyond 95.00%strains of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa and Acinetobacter baumannii were sensitive with Imipenem and Meropenem. The resistant rate of Cefepime,Imipene,m,Meropenem,Cefotaxim-c,Aztreonam was beyond 100.00% with Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, while which were sensitive with Minocycline. Conclusion Non-fermentative Bacilli hospital infection is the main pathogenic bacteria, and existence multiple drug resistance to antimicrobial agents.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial activity of piperacillin-sulbactam against clinical isolates of non-fermentative bacilli isolated from common infections. Methods Microdilution was employed to study the antimicrobial resistance. Results A total of 770 strains were collected from 6 hospitals in Guangzhou, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia , Burkholderia cepacia , Flavobacterium , and Alcaligenes. Compared with other β-lactams,piperacillin-sulbactam displayed the highest activity against all the isolates of P. aeruginosa, especially for imipenem non-sensitive isolates, with the susceptibility of 71.9% and 55.8%, respectively. Piperacillinsulbactam and cefoperazone-sulbactam kept good activity against imipenem sensitive isolates of A. baumannii, with the susceptibility of 71.0% and 73. 0%, respectively. For the strains of Burkholderia cepacia, 69% strains exhibited minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of ≤ 16 mg/L for piperacillin-sulbactam. For the strains of Flavobacterium, and Alcaligenes, piperacillin-sulbactam also had excellent activity, with the susceptibility of 70. 2% and 94. 4%, respectively. Conclusion Piperacillin-sulbactam exhibits good activity again non-fermentative bacilli, especial for imipenem non-sensitive isolates of P. aeruginosa.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical distribution and drug resistance of non-fermentative bacilli isolated from department of surgery so as to guide the rational use of antibiotics.METHODS VITEK-60 AMS system and Kirby-Bauer method were used to identify the pathogenic bacilli and examine the antibiotic resistance.RESULTS A total of 463 strains of nonfermentative bacteria were isolated from Jan 2002 to Dec 2004,the most common pathogen was Pseudomonas aeruginosa(55.07%),the next were Acinetobacter baumannii(20.52%) and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia(11.88%).The samples were mainly sputum(31.97%),drainage(13.39%),and wound secretion(12.31%).Isolation rate from SICU,departments of organ transplantation and burn were 28.08%,17.28% and 12.10%,respectively.P.aeruginosa,A.baumannii and S.maltophilia had high and multi-drug resistance.CONCLUSIONS Infections of respiratory tract and wound caused by non-fermentative bacilli are common in surgical department, and drug resistance is serious. The drugs should be chosen according to the results of the antimicrobial susceptibility tests.
