RESUMO
Introduction: Teaching work, which is characterized by being exhausting, with a significant workload, with synchronous and/or asynchronous remote classes. Objective: To describe associations between the working conditions of school teachers at home and their food consumption during the suspension of face-to-face classes. Materials and methods: Cross-sectional study using a self-administered online questionnaire with 15,372 working teachers from Minas Gerais, Brazil. The dependent variables analyzed were the consumption of healthy and unhealthy foods. Independent variables included sociodemographic factors, remote work conditions, understanding of online technologies, computer access, and quality of Internet connection. The Poisson model with robust variance was used to determine the association between working conditions and food consumption. Results: In the analysis of the adjusted multivariate model, there was a significant association between eating habits and the following variables: gender, age, working hours (per week), feelings regarding teachers' work during the pandemic, working hours during the pandemic and quality work internet connection. Our data shows that teachers' remote working conditions are associated with worse food consumption. They also showed that working hours equal to or greater than 40 hours per week, feelings of dissatisfaction with working conditions during the pandemic, increased working hours during the pandemic and poor quality of internet connection were variables correlated with the consumption of unhealthy foods. Conclusions: Remote working conditions during the pandemic influenced primary school teachers' food choices. More studies are needed to delve deeper into issues related to teachers' working conditions and the implications for food choices(AU)
Introducción: La labor docente se caracteriza por ser agotadora, con una importante carga horaria, con clases remotas síncronas y/o asíncronas. Objective@#To quantitatively compare five occupational health risk assessment models in assessing silica dust hazard risk in small open pits, so as to provide the reference for the research of occupational health risk assessment methodology@*Methods @#Seven small open pits were selected as the evaluation sites. The models from Singapore, the United Kingdom's Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Essentials ( COSHH Essentials ), Australia, Romania, and the International Council on Mining and Metals ( ICMM ) were applied to assessing the occupational health risk of the workers exposed to silica dust. The risk ratios ( RRs ) were calculated, and the parallelism, accuracy and correlation of the evaluation results of the five models were compared. @*Results @#The RRs of the Singaporean model, COSHH model, Romanian model, Australian model and ICMM model were 0.8, 1.0, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8, respectively. The Singaporean model and the Australian model were able to distinguish transport drivers from sprinkler drivers in the health risk exposed to silica dust, which was consistent with the actual risk of the two posts. Except for COSHH model, the RRs of the other four models were positively correlated ( P<0.05 ); the RRs were all positively correlated with concentration ratios ( CRs ) ( P<0.05 ), and the correlation coefficient between RRs and CRs of the Singaporean model was the largest (0.801).@*Conclusion @#Among the five models, the Singaporean model can more accurately evaluate the hazard risk of silica dust in posts of open pits, and has a good correlation with the other models.

RESUMO
OBJECTIVE: To compare the applicability of three risk assessment methods on occupational health risk assessment of chemical harmful factors in a resin anchorage production workshop. METHODS: A resin anchoring agent production workshop was selected as the research subject using the judgment sampling method. Contact ratio assessment method and comprehensive index method(both are semi-quantitative evaluation method) and qualitative risk assessment method were applied to estimate the occupational health risks of jobs involved with styrene, dibutyl phthalate and phthalic anhydride. The assessment was carried out, and the obtained risk level was standardized as the risk ratio. The evaluation results of these three methods were compared. RESULTS: The assessment results of exposure ratio method were 1-3, and those of comprehensive index method were 2-3. The risk ratio of the above methods after standardization is consistent with that before standardization. The result of qualitative risk assessment was 2-3, and the risk ratio after standardization was 3-4. The risk ratio after standardization was 1 level higher than that before standardization. Kappa analysis results showed that the result of contact ratio method and the comprehensive index method was in good agreement(Kappa=0.53, P<0.05). The qualitative risk assessment method was inconsistent with the contact ratio method and the comprehensive index method(Kappa values were 0.19 and 0.40, both P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Comprehensive index method is the preferred method for occupational health risk assessment of anchorage agent production workshop under the condition that detection results of occupational hazards can be obtained. Qualitative risk assessment method can be used when the test results cannot be obtained.
RESUMO
Objective@#This study was designed to conduct a retrospective and systematic occupational health risk assessment (OHRA) of enterprises that used benzene, toluene, and xylene (BTX) in Shanghai, China.@*Methods@#All data for the study were obtained from 1,705 occupational health examination and evaluation reports from 2013 to 2017, and a semiquantitative model following Chinese OHRA guidelines (GBZ/T 298-2017) was applied for the assessment.@*Results@#The selected enterprises using BTX were mainly involved in manufacturing of products. Using the exposure level method, health risk levels associated with exposure to BTX were classified as medium, negligible, or low. However, the risk levels associated with benzene and toluene were significantly different according to job types, with gluers and inkers exhibiting greater health risks. For the same job type, the health risk levels assessed using the comprehensive index method were higher than those using the exposure level method.@*Conclusion@#Our OHRA reveals that workers who are exposed to BTX still face excessive health risk. Additionally, the risk level varied depending on job categories and exposure to specific chemicals. Therefore, additional control measures recommended by OHRA guidelines are essential to reduce worker exposure levels.

OBJECTIVE: To compare the applicability of three semi-quantitative methods for risk assessment for occupational health in a mechanic processing enterprise. METHODS: The judgment sampling method was used to select a mechanic processing enterprise as the study subject. The occupational health risk was evaluated using contact ratio, exponential and comprehensive exponential analyzing method, and the results of different methods were compared. RESULTS: The occupational health risk level of all the posts in sandblasting, sawing, welding, grinding and painting in the mechanic processing enterprises were of moderate risk or above. The consistency of evaluation results of the contact ratio, exponential and comprehensive exponential methods was poor(weighted Kappa=0.30, P>0.05). The consistency of exponential and comprehensive exponential methods was excellent(weighted Kappa=1.00, P<0.01). When the contact concentration(E)/occupational exposure limits(OEL) is <0.50, the contact ratio method is less than or equal to the exponential method and the comprehensive exponential method. When 0.50 ≤E/OEL<2.00, the results of these three methods are consistent. When the E/OEL ≥2.00, the evaluation result of the contact ratio method is equal to or higher than the exponential method and the comprehensive exponential method.CONCLUSION: The contact ratio method is easy to obtain, simple and convenient. The exponential method is suitable for occupational disease risk factors in the workplace without OELs or unable to obtain test data, and it is more practical. The comprehensive exponential method is considered comprehensive and suitable for occupational health risk assessment in the workplace.
RESUMO
OBJECTIVE: To compare the results of occupational health risk of 2-butoxyethanol(2-BE) by two risk assessment methods. METHODS: Occupational health investigation and detecting 2-BE level in workplace were carried out in a bicycle manufacturing factory in Tianjin City, a printing factory in Shenzhen City and an automobile manufacturing factory in Beijing City. The occupational health risk of 2-BE was assessed by Singapore's semi-quantitative risk assessment model and occupational hazards risk assessment index method. The risk classification results of the 2 risk assessment methods were compared and analyzed. RESULTS: The results of Singapore's semi-quantitative risk assessment method showed that all the 2-BE risk ratios of the decals workshop in the bicycle manufacturing factory, the binding and printing workshops of the printing factory, the spray finishing and the intermediate painting and the electrophoresis workshops of the automobile manufacturing factory were 0.4. The classification of 2-BE risk ratios belongs to low risk level. The results of occupational hazards risk assessment index method showed that the risk ratios of decals workshop in the bicycle manufacturing factory, the binding and printing of the printing factory, the spray finishing and the intermediate painting and the electrophoresis of the automobile manufacturing factory were 0.4, 0.4 and 0.2, respectively, which correspondence to low, low and negligible risk classification, respectively. The two methods were consistent with the appraisal positions of decals post in the bicycle manufacturing factory and the evaluation of binding and printing positions of a printing factory, although the risk assessment results of key positions in the paint shop of an automobile manufacturing industry were inconsistent. CONCLUSION: The occupational hazard risk assessment index method takes into account of the health effects, exposure conditions and operating conditions, and can comprehensively and accurately assess the occupational health risks caused by 2-BE.
RESUMO
Health Risk Appraisal(HRA) is usually defined as a process by which we expect of individual's chances of death or acquiring specific diseases within a defined period of time. The concept of worksite as an area of health maintenance and promotion is newly developing. Our movement for health promotion of employees has been increasingly known in the worksite. The aim of this study is to develop health risk appraisal tools about health promotion at the worksite for employees. We performed this study by two steps: one step was to develop a HRA questionnaire of worksites in Korea, another was to evaluate the reliability of the questionnaire. For developing HRA questionnaire, we reviewed scientific examples at first, and then weighted the score by delphi. To evaluate the reliability of developed questionnaire, we carried out survey by test-retest method. A total of 131 employees completed HRA questionnaire on two times. The results are as follows. The total score of health risk in unhealthy workers was higher than that of healthy workers. The range of test-retest reliability of responses to the questionnaire was 0.57-0.94. Therefore it seems that this questionnaire was very suitable to assess the health behavior of workers. In conclusion, the developed HRA questionnaire can be used as a tool for evaluating health behavior and for providing health counseling materials.
