Introducción: Con la meta permanente de mejorar la relación médico-paciente y favorecer que este último asuma una posición proactiva en la búsqueda de su salud, se implementa la metodología AELI® KINETEST, aceptada desde 2017 por la Oficina Cubana de la Propiedad Industrial, órgano estatal subordinado al Ministerio de Ciencia, Tecnología y Medio Ambiente. Esta emplea una forma diferente de realizar diagnóstico y tratamiento, con una marcada intención de lograr visión integral del paciente, que abarca contexto personal, familiar, laboral, y complementa así el método clínico. Objetivo: Describir los resultados de la atención a pacientes con AELI®KINETEST. Métodos: Estudio retrospectivo, descriptivo y de corte transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 582 pacientes del Hospital Universitario Clínico Quirúrgico Dr. Miguel Enríquez, entre marzo de 2016 y marzo de 2019. Se confeccionó una ficha personal que incluía los resultados de la aplicación del protocolo del test muscular de los miembros superiores para identificar las disarmonías energéticas. Resultados: Se halló una evolución positiva, predominante a partir de la segunda consulta, en la que se encontraba asintomático el 84,4 por ciento y en la tercera, el 91 por ciento. Conclusiones: AELI® KINETEST resulta una metodología que promueve salud desde una visión integral del ser humano; y permite crecimiento personal, control de los síntomas a corto plazo y rápida reincorporación laboral y familiar. Los resultados muestran la aceptación social y apuntan a una inmediata inclusión en el aprendizaje de las ciencias de la salud(AU)


Introduction: With the permanent goal of improving the doctor-patient relationship and encouraging the latter to assume a proactive position in the pursuit of her or his health, the AELI®KINETEST methodology is implemented. It has been accepted since 2017 by the Cuban Office of Industrial Property, a state body subordinated to the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment. This methodology uses a different way of making a diagnosis and carrying out treatment, with a marked intention to achieve an comprehensive vision of the patient, covering the individual, family, work, and other contexts. Objective: To describe the results of patient care with AELI®KINETEST. Methods: A retrospective, descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted. The population consisted of 582 patients from Hospital Universitario Clínico Quirúrgico Dr. Miguel Enríquez, during March 2016 and March 2019. An individual file was prepared, including the results of the application of the upper limb muscle test protocol for identifying energetic disharmonies. Results: A positive evolution was observed, predominantly from the second consultation, at which moment 84.4 percent were asymptomatic; while at the moment of the third consultation, 91 percent were asymptomatic. Conclusions: AELI® KINETEST is a methodology that promotes health with an approach towards a comprehensive vision of the human being, as well as it allows individual growth, short-term symptom control and a rapid reincorporation to work and family. The results show social acceptance and point to an immediate inclusion in the learning of health sciences(AU)

Background@#Patient-centered outcomes in chronic care assessed through Quality of Health Care can be measured by its congruence to the Chronic Care Model (CCM) using Patient Assessment of Chronic Illness Care (PACIC). Behavioral and quality measures that influence the patient’s perception of the quality of care remain unknown.@*Objective@#This study aimed to assess the quality of chronic illness care among diabetic patients using PACIC and its relationship to socio-demographic factors.@*Methods@#A cross-sectional study involving diabetic patients of the Out-Patient Department of a private hospital were enrolled through non-probability sampling. Overall score from the PACIC questionnaire, its subscale scores and its relationship with the socio-demographic factors were determined using descriptive statistics.@*Results@#All participants were married and living with their families. Median age was 58. The over- all PACIC score was 3.53 + 0.72 SD. Problem solving/Contextual subscale presented the highest score while follow up/coordination had the least. Those who have college degrees had significantly lower mean scores than high school graduates (p-value = 0.032).@*Conclusion@#PACIC scores indicate a moderate to high quality of care. PACIC is a practical instrument that can be used in quality assessment and improvement programs.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the role of clinical pharmacist in pulmonary infection therapy for a patient with hyper-sensitivity to several kinds of antibiotics. METHODS:Through admission evaluation,clinical pharmacists participated in the formu-lation of pulmonary infection therapy regimen for a patient with hypersensitivity to several kinds of antibiotics. According to clinical efficacy and disease condition,clinical pharmacists adjusted therapy plan and provided individual pharmaceutical care. RESULTS:Physician adopted clinical pharmacist’s suggestions,and then the patient transferred to community hospital after pulmonary infec-tion had been controlled. CONCLUSIONS:Clinical pharmacists adopt admission assessment and classification management,posi-tion high risk patient,provide whole-course pharmaceutical care,and help physician to optimize and promote therapy plan,in or-der to guarantee the safety of drug use.

Background: Body remodeling surgical procedures requires an assessment from the client's point of view in terms of esthetic satisfaction. Aim: To develop an instrument of assess body remodeling surgical results from the point of view of the patient. Material and Methods: A literature search for assessment methods was carried out. Posteriorly, in depth interviews and focus groups with plastic surgeons and patients subjected to plastic surgery procedures were performed. With this information, a conceptual framework was established to devise the instrument. Results: Sixteen patients and five plastic surgeons participated in the interviews and focus groups. The domains included in the conceptual framework were outfit and body image, affective and sexual life, self-image and esteem, social relationships and physical symptoms. Conclusions: The conceptual framework for the instrument is ready and the psychometric evaluation is the next step in its development.


Objetivo: Desarrollar un nuevo instrumento de resultados desde la perspectiva del paciente, diseñado para medir la satisfacción de éstos en relación a procedimientos de cirugía de contorno corporal, como li-poescultura, abdominoplastía, lifting corporal, lifting de muslos y brazos. Material y Método: Revisión de la literatura, entrevistas en profundidad a pacientes, grupos focales de discusión de expertos a cirujanos plásticos y pacientes sometidos a cirugías de contorno corporal con lo que se desarrolló un marco conceptual en relación a los resultados considerados importantes para la imagen corporal. Resultados: Dieciséis pacientes y cinco cirujanos plásticos fueron entrevistados. Los dominios identificados para el marco conceptual incluyeron vestimenta e imagen corporal, vida afectiva y sexual, autoimagen y autoestima, relaciones sociales y síntomas físicos. Conclusiones: Una vez completada la evaluación psicométrica, el instrumento Body-QoL y subescalas proporcionará una herramienta confiable para cirujanos plásticos, investigadores y pacientes para medir el impacto y la eficacia de los procedimientos de remodelamiento corporal, desde la perspectiva del paciente. Nivel de Evidencia: 1-Estudio cualitativo, generación de instrumentos de medición de resultado desde la perspectiva del paciente.

Purpose of the Study: The purpose was to analyze and classify behavioral pattern of complete denture patients and to identify difficult patients. Materials and Methods: Fifty complete denture patients were randomly selected for the study. Their behavioral pattern was categorized using House classification as philosophic, indifferent, exacting and hysterical. The above behavioral classification was based on two methods namely interview and questionnaire and graphoanalysis. Accuracy of the above-mentioned two methods in predicting behavior of complete denture patients was statistically evaluated. Results: On analyzing the data it was found that a significant correlation exists between handwriting pattern and behavior of an individual. Further it was noticed that chances of identifying difficult patients such as hysterical was more effective by employing graphoanalysis than questionnaire and interview method. Conclusion: Graphoanalysis in addition with properly structured interview and questionnaire is useful in evaluation of behavior of an individual especially for recognizing difficult patients.
