Long-term follow-up result for the foam sclerotherapy in the treatment of lower extremity incompetent perforating veins / 中华普通外科杂志

Objective To evaluate the long-term follow-up results of foam sclerosing agent in the treatment ofincompetent perforating vein.Methods 153 cases (316 incompetent perforating veins)received the treatment of foam sclerotherapy.The closure of perforating branches was followed up by ultrasound.Results 12 cases (27 incompetent perforating veins) were lost to follow up.289 incompetent perforating veins got follow up,The median follow-up time was 17 months (11-36 months).Closure rate was 100％ in vessels less than 3 mm in diameter,while that was 76％ invessels with the diameter between 3-5 mm.Closure rate was 16％ in vessels larger than 5 mm in diameter.Conclusion The long-term efficacy of the foam sclerosing agent in the treatment of incompetent perforating vein depends on the diameter of the vein.

Clinical comparative study on conventional surgical and subfascial endoscopic perforator surgery in great venous varicosity / 中国基层医药

Objective To compare the curative effect of high ligation+exfoliation and subfascial endoscopic perforator surgery(SEPS)for superficial varicose veins in calf+invagination spot-striping surgery in great venous varicosity.Methods Study group(42 patients)accepted SEPS+invagination spot-striping surgery and control group (42 patients)accepted traditional surgeries.Operation duration,bleeding volume in operation,the time of beginning movement away from bed after operation,hospitalization duration,the degree of pain,the scar,the recrudescence af- ter operation and the instance of the ulcer heals of two groups were compared.Results Operation duration,bleeding volume in operation,the time of begin movement away from bed after operation and hospitalization durations of study group were significantly lower than those of control group(P0.05).All of the patients in study group recovered without severe syndromes such as venous thrombosis,skin necrosis,lower limb functional disorder etc.They had no recrudesce after 4～16 months and were satisfied with the curative effect.Con- elusions The clinical curative effect of SEPS+invagination spot-striping surgery in great venous varicosity is superi- or to that of traditional operation and it has the advantages such as minor wound,few scars,light pains,short hospi- talization duration,without recrudescence,the ulcer heals quickly and so on.

Endoscopic devascularization of perforating vein in treating patients with varicose veins with perforating vein insufficiency in lower limbs / 中国普通外科杂志

Objective To study the effect of endoscopic devascularization of perforating vein(EDPV)on the treatment of varicose veins with perforating vein insufficiency in lower limbs. Methods Clinical data of 40 patients (53 limbs) with lower limbs varicose veins underwent EDPV were retrospectiely analyzed. Results All patients lower limb ulcers healed in 5～25 days after operation.All patients were followed up for 14 (5～19)months,and no reccurence was found yet. The pigmentation of leg greatly decreased. Conclusions The EDPV is an effective procedure with fewer complications in treating the patients with varicose veins with perforating vein insufficiency in the lower limbs,EDPV has great value of clinical application.
