RESUMO

Objective:To study and design one kind of flash radiotherapy(Flash-RT)equipment with ultra-high dose rate, which can be used in the mechanism research of Flash-RT with ultra-high dose rate. Methods:Based on the technique roadmap of high-power petal accelerator, the Flash-RT equipment can realize the requirement of Flash-RT for ultra-high dose rate and multiple irradiation angles. The corresponding design and research work were carried out on the basis of the overall design of the equipment, the main components and characteristics, the dynamics design of beam, the construction of movable and preliminary experimental platform, etc.Result:The dose rate of the designed equipment can reach to 100 Gy/s at a distance of 0.8 meters from the target point, which is easy to realize the radiotherapy method with multi angles. Conclusion:The designed X-ray equipment based on the technique roadmap of high-power petal accelerator can realize the research for the mechanism of medical Flash-RT equipment with ultra-high dose rate.

RESUMO

Background: Today Herbal medicine are commonly used because of their easy availability and affordability. It is more closely corresponds to the patient’s belief, concerns about the adverse effects of chemical (synthetic) medicines, persuade a desire for more personalized health care, and allows significant public access to health information. The major use of herbal medicines is for health promotion and treatment for chronic, as opposed to life-threatening, conditions. Usage of traditional remedies increases when conventional medicine is less effective in the treatment of disease, such as in advanced cancer and in the face of new infectious diseases. The hibiscus Rosa sinensis plant extract have multiple organic component like flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, triterpenoids which are known to have antibacterial activity against E. coli, P aeruginosa, Salmonella species. Phytotherapy is considered to be less toxic and minimal or no side effects in comparison to modern allopathic medicines. Therefore, in today’s scenario there has been reappearance of interest developed in herbal medicine. Therefore, the study was planned to look for antibacterial activity of extract of petals and leaves of hibiscus Rosa sinensis against. Methods: Escherichia coli isolated from different clinical samples along with resistant antibiotics. All resistant isolates were tested along with hibiscus Rosa sinensis extract both leaves and petals ex-tract with resistant antibiotics. Results: We found that out of total 51, 35 (68.63%) were resistant E. coli isolates to different antibiotics and 85.72% were from urine samples. Enhancement effect in zone size with many resistant antibiotics was seen individually with both extracts. Antibiotics like ampicillin, cefotaxime, cotrimaxazole, cefuroxime, piperacillin, gentamycin showed more enhancement with rose petal extract than leaves. While antibiotic like levofloxacin (5%) showed enhancement only with leaves extract and not with the petals extract. Conclusions: It was found that Rose petal extract showed more antibacterial activity along with the antibiotics as compare to Rose leaves extract.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: APETALA3 (AP3) has significant roles in petal and stamen development in accordance with the classical ABC model. RESULTS: The AP3 homolog, CDM19, from Chrysanthemum morifolium cv. Jinba was cloned and sequenced. Sequence and phylogenetic analyses revealed that CDM19 is of DEF/AP3 lineage possessing the characteristic MIKC-type II structure. Expression analysis showed that CDM19 was transcribed in petals and stamens of ray and disc florets with weak expression in the carpels. Ectopic expression of CDM19 in Arabidopsis wild-type background altered carpel development resulting in multi-carpel siliques. CDM19 could only partially rescue the Arabidopsis ap33 mutant. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that CDM19 may partially be involved in petal and stamen development in addition to having novel function in carpel development.

RESUMO

In order to assess inhibitory potentials of white rose petal extracts (WRPE) on the activities of enzymes related to dermal aging according to the extraction conditions, three extraction methods were adopted. WRPE was prepared by extracting dried white rose (Rosa hybrida) petals with 50% ethanol (WRPE-EtOH), Pectinex(R) SMASH XXL enzyme (WRPE-enzyme) or high temperature-high pressure (WRPE-HTHP). In the inhibition of matrix metalloproteinase-1, although the enzyme activity was fully inhibited by all 3 extracts at 100 microg/mL in 60 min, partial inhibition (50-70%) was achieved only by WRPE-EtOH and WRPE-enzyme at 50 microg/mL. High concentrations (> or =250 microg/mL) of all 3 extracts markedly inhibited the elastase activity. However, at low concentrations (15.6-125 microg/mL), only WRPE-EtOH inhibited the enzyme activity. Notably, WRPE-EtOH was superior to WRPE-enzyme and WRPE-HTHP in the inhibition of tyrosinase. WRPE-EtOH significantly inhibited the enzyme activity from 31.2 microM, reaching 80% inhibition at 125 microM. In addition to its strong antioxidative activity, the ethanol extract of white rose petals was confirmed to be effective in inhibiting skin aging-related enzymes. Therefore, it is suggested that WRPE-EtOH could be a good candidate for the improvement of skin aging such as wrinkle formation and pigmentation.
