RESUMO

With the increasing development of technology and decreasing costs over the years, genetic diagnosis is gradually becoming the ultimate means of diagnosing neurogenetic diseases. Clinicians often face various predicaments in the process of genetic diagnosis due to the high clinical variability and genetic heterogeneity of neurogenetic diseases. This editorial proposes countermeasures to address these predicaments and suggests that specialists in the field of neurogenetic diseases should not only be familiar with the clinical, genetic and causative genes of neurogenetic diseases, and the characteristics of genetic testing techniques, so as to develop the most reasonable genetic testing protocol, but also learn to correctly analyze and interpret genetic test results to avoid missed diagnoses and misdiagnoses.

RESUMO

Objective:To strengthen the standardized management of instrument and equipment sharing and users of public research platforms in general hospitals. Methods:Taking the Research Center of Basic Medicine of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University as an example, this study analyzed the service status and current predicaments of the instruments and equipment since the establishment of the large-scale instrument sharing system and discussed the optimization construction and management strategies of the scientific research platform. Results:Although there are still many problems in the sharing system and equipment management, safe, intelligent, and convenient equipment information management should be achieved to a certain extent by differentiated sharing, differentiated supervision, personalized training, and other strategies, leading to fully sharing of instruments and equipment within a certain range and improvement of scientific nature of management. Conclusions:The problems existing in our Research Center of Basic Medicine are common to other scientific research platforms. It is expected to provide a good reference for the platform management of other universities and affiliated hospitals, which is of great significance to improve the scientific research level and hospital management level of general hospitals in the future.

RESUMO

One of the most significant countenances of South Asian modernity is New Indian Middle Class and their Culture. This earlierIndian middle class was committed to both traditions and modernity in an anti-colonial sense and consistent in serving the highintellectual and bureaucratic positions in a state-governed welfare economy and secular nation-state. After 1990s liberalization, the NMC became the focus of attention due to its socio-economic mobility, socio-cultural and political influence and consumerpotential. The purpose of the present article is to demonstrate that the emerging NMC is relatively an unexplored andcomparatively new contextual urban reality and a group which is fluid and still emerging. Through an analysis of the NMC andits economic and socio-cultural distinctiveness, the article shows its emergence and ongoing transformation on the backdrop ofthe mid-1980s and the 1990s neo-liberalization. It is to be understand that the class or classes, under concern is/are assumed tobe less aware of class in traditional theoretical sense, rather more aware of their images of perceivable/embodied ‘culture(s)’ or‘lifestyle(s)’. In this paper author try to review the history and the emerging issues within the broad subject in a way that willbe discernible to the larger target audiences

RESUMO

Background: Although suicide is commonly linked with mental disorder, the notion that suicide may occur in response to predicaments has been the subject of much recent study and attention. A predicament in this context refers to an uncomfortable situation from which escape is difficult. We aimed to examine the predicaments of people whose suicide was captured on film and displayed on the public record. Methods: The authors’ extensive private library and the web were explored for examples of suicide on film. The authors viewed the films and associated records, and extracted and listed details of the suicides. Results: Six individual cases and two groups (totalling 2200 plus individuals) were identified. The individual cases were Thich Quang Duc (1963), Christine Chubbuck (1974), Budd Dwyer (1987), Daniel Victor Jones (1998), Michael Marin (2012) and Jordon Romero (2012). The two groups were the Japanese Kamikaze pilots of 1944/1995, and those who jumped from the burning “Twin Towers” on September 11, 2001. One of the six individuals has evidence of a mental disorder, and all (individual and group cases) were in potent social/environmental predicaments. Conclusion: Both psychological autopsies and our clinical experience suggest that suicide is often associated with mental disorder. Nevertheless, social/environmental predicaments may lead to suicide. This study suggests that individuals whose suicide is captured on film are often seeking public exposure of their fatal act.
