RESUMO

This study aimed to parallelly investigate the cardioprotective activity of Cinnamomi Ramulus formula granules(CRFG) and Cinnamomi Cortex formula granules(CCFG) against acute myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury(MI/RI) and the underlying mechanism based on the efficacy of "warming and coordinating the heart Yang". Ninety male SD rats were randomly divided into a sham group, a model group, CRFG low and high-dose(0.5 and 1.0 g·kg~(-1)) groups, and CCFG low and high-dose(0.5 and 1.0 g·kg~(-1)) groups, with 15 rats in each group. The sham group and the model group were given equal volumes of normal saline by gavage. Before modeling, the drug was given by gavage once a day for 7 consecutive days. One hour after the last administration, the MI/RI rat model was established by ligating the left anterior descending artery(LAD) for 30 min ischemia followed by 2 h reperfusion except the sham group. The sham group underwent the same procedures without LAD ligation. Heart function, cardiac infarct size, cardiac patho-logy, cardiomyocyte apoptosis, cardiac injury enzymes, and inflammatory cytokines were determined to assess the protective effects of CRFG and CCFG against MI/RI. The gene expression levels of nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor family pyrin domain protein 3(NLRP3) inflammasome, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD(ASC), cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase-1(caspase-1), Gasdermin-D(GSDMD), interleukin-1β(IL-1β), and interleukin-18(IL-18) were determined by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The protein expression levels of NLRP3, caspase-1, GSDMD, and N-GSDMD were determined by Western blot. The results showed that both CRFG and CCFG pretreatments significantly improved cardiac function, decreased the cardiac infarct size, inhibited cardiomyocyte apoptosis, and reduced the content of lactic dehydrogenase(LDH), creatine kinase MB isoenzyme(CK-MB), aspartate transaminase(AST), and cardiac troponin Ⅰ(cTnⅠ). In addition, CRFG and CCFG pretreatments significantly decreased the levels of IL-1β, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) in serum. RT-PCR results showed that CRFG and CCFG pretreatment down-regulated the mRNA expression levels of NLRP3, caspase-1, ASC, and downstream pyroptosis-related effector substances including GSDMD, IL-18, and IL-1β in cardiac tissues. Western blot revealed that CRFG and CCFG pretreatments significantly decreased the protein expression levels of NLRP3, caspase-1, GSDMD, and N-GSDMD in cardiac tissues. In conclusion, CRFG and CCFG pretreatments have obvious cardioprotective effects on MI/RI in rats, and the under-lying mechanism may be related to the inhibition of NLRP3/caspase-1/GSDMD signaling pathway to reduce the cardiac inflammatory response.

Background: PIH is associated with increased vascular resistance and decreased utero -placental perfusion resulting in an increased incidence of foetal hypoxia and impaired foetalgrowth.The objective of this study was to assess the diagnostic performance of S/D ratio, resistance index(RI), pulsatility index (PI) and cerebro-placental ratio (CPR) in the prediction of adverse perinatal outcome in PIH and IUGR. Objective: is to determine S/D ratio, RI, PI, CPR and asses their diagnostic values in the prediction of adverse perinatal outcome.Material& Methods:50 pregnant patients with PIH and IUGR, beyond 28 weeks of gestation, were prospectively studied at P k das institute of medical college,vaniyamkulamand subjected for Doppler study of the umbilical artery and foetal middle cerebral artery. The abnormality of above parameters was correlated with the major adverse perinatal outcome.Results:Patients with abnormal Doppler parameters had a poor perinatal outcome, compared to those who had normal Doppler study. The cerebro-placental ratios(CPR) had the sensitivity and specificity, positive and negative predictive values of 95%,76%,73%,95% respectively with Kappa value of o .68(good agreement) and p value of .000 which was statistically significant, for the prediction of major adverse perinatal outcome.Conclusions:This study shows that Doppler study of umbilical and foetal middle cerebral artery can reliably predict the neonatal morbidity and helpful in determining the optimal time of delivery in complicated pregnancies. The CPR is more accurate than the independent evaluation of S/D, RI, PI, in identifying foetus with adverse perinatal outcome.

OBJECTIVE:To learn from the experie nce of post-marketing risk management of biopharmaceuticals in the United States,and to provide reference for post-marketing risk management of biopharmaceuticals in China. METHODS :By studying guidance documents and website information issued by FDA ,the risk management of biopharmaceuticals after marketing in the United States was analyzed. Taking infliximab as an example ,the specific implementation situation was introduced ,the management characteristics were summarized ,and the enlightenment and relevant suggestions were put forward for the risk management of biopharmaceuticals after marketing in China. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS :The post-marketing risk management of biopharmaceuticals in the United States mainly includes two aspects as “risk evaluation and mitigation strategy (REMS)”and “post-marketing study and clinical trials system ”. The latter included post-marketing requirement (PMR) and post-marketing commitment(PMC). Taking infliximab as an example ,since it was approved by FDA in August 1998,its manufacturer submitted REMS to FDA in 2009 and obtained approval ,and proposed post-marketing studies and clinical trials for five times. It can be seen that FDA has issued specific guidelines for post-marketing risk management of biopharmaceuticals to encourage multi-role participation in risk management , realize effective communication with patients , and continuously supervise the risk of biopharmaceuticals,so as to reduce the risk of the use of biopharmaceuticals. For biopharmaceuticals ,China has not yet formulated systematic and specific implementation rules and guidelines ,and there is still lack in post-marketing risk management. It is suggested that China can learn from the measures and system of post-marketing risk management of biopharmaceuticals in the United States ,involve stakeholders in post-marketing management ,enhance patients ’awareness of drug use risks through effective communication,and further improve the post-marketing research management system to guarantee patients ’safety of drug use.

Resumo: Atuais mudanças econômicas, sociais e políticas geram impactos nos ambientes e nas condições psicossociais de trabalho. Neste texto, discute-se o trabalho de Assistentes Sociais (AS) atuantes na Previdência Social (PS), a partir da combinação de resultados obtidos por meio de projeto de pesquisa em andamento, cuja metodologia faz uso de escalas padronizadas, grupos focais e entrevistas realizadas entre 2014 e 2019. Apesar de não haver resultados negativos obtidos pelos instrumentos padronizados, as outras técnicas puderam revelar que o trabalho gera um tipo de sofrimento mudo, invisível e marcado pela angústia e frustração.


Abstract: The current economic, social, and political changes have impacts on the work environment and the psychosocial conditions of the workers. In this study, we discuss the professional work of Social Workers (SW) working in working in the Brazilian social security system, using a mixed-methods approach including the results obtained through standardized scales, focus groups, and interviews conducted between 2014 and 2019. Despite the results obtained by psychometric systems suggest a non-negative outcome, the other methods could reveal that work generates a kind of silent, invisibility and is marked by distress and/or suffer.

RESUMO

The academic thought of professor - on "no allergy without any deficiency" was explored. Theory and the clinical application were elaborated on allergic diseases treated with heat-sensitive moxibustion. It is believed that the critical pathogenesis of allergic diseases is deficiency, particularly the deficiency of the lung, the spleen and the kidney. The invasion of exogenous factors or the disturbance of the retained pathogens in the body may induce allergy. Regarding the therapeutic method, the warming method is applicable for the deficiency and the heat-sensitization counteracts allergy. The sensitized points are detected in accordance with the two-step location method and they are stimulated with the suspended moxibustion. The feeling of heat-sensitive moxibustion is a sign of activation of endogenous regulatory function in the human body. It is a kind of external therapy for the internal disorders, directly acting on the pathogenesis, strengthening the antipathogenic and removing the allergic factors. This therapy is a new endogenous anti-allergic approach.

Professor has explored the causes of the characteristics of TCM syndromes in modern disease spectrum and pointed out that the TCM syndromes are generally characterized by " is often insufficient, but is often surplus". Based on the clinical experience and the understanding of TCM classics and ancient literature on tumor, professor has proposed that TCM syndromes of patients with advanced tumor are also generally characterized by " is often insufficient, but is often surplus". The heat-sensitive moxibustion has the functions of warming and nourishing eliminating dampness, warming meridians and dispersing cold, activating blood circulation and clearing collaterals, therefore tumor patients with deficiency syndrome (-deficiency, deficiency), cold syndrome, dampness syndrome, phlegm syndrome and blood-stasis syndrome belonging to the indications of heat-sensitive moxibustion. The heat-sensitive moxibustion has unique advantages in treating spleen-stomach dysfunction after chemotherapy and radiotherapy, bone marrow suppression after chemotherapy and radiotherapy, cancerous deficiency, cancerous pain, pleural effusion, ascites, constipation, which has important clinical value in improving the quality of life and prolonging the life time for patients with advanced tumors.

RESUMO

Professor -'s academic idea of "pain in joint and disorder in tendon region of meridian" was explored in this paper. According to the particular characteristics of the occurrence and development of the disease, knee arthralgia is divided into 4 stages, named tendon spasm, tendon blockage, tendon contraction and tendon atrophy. It is proposed that "tendon disorder results in bone disorder", implying the relationship between the disorders of tendon and bone. It is pointed that insufficiency occurs throughout knee arthralgia. "The tendon disorder should be treated at the first-line procedure for the bone disorder, and the tendon softening benefits the recovery of knee joints". The treatment principle includes "removing obstruction from meridian, eliminating pathogen, warming up and softening tendon". In clinical application, the heat-sensitive moxibustion is predominated. The various regimens are developed align with the pathogenesis characteristics of the disease at different stages.

Background: Hypertensive disorder along with hemorrhage and infection contribute greatly to maternal mortality and morbidity. Pregnancy induced hypertension remains among the most significant and intriguing unsolved problems in obstetrics.Methods: In this prospective analytical study investigations and color doppler findings 0f umbilical artery PI, RI and end diastolic flow in same, uterine PI, RI and persistent diastolic notch in uterine artery recorded. Total 100 Cases of PIH between 20-36 weeks of gestation in 2 years with B.P ≥ 140/90 mm hg and protienuria ≥ 1+ were observed.Results: In this study, out of 100 cases, there were 58 cases of mild PIH (58%) and 42 cases of severe PIH (42%). Umbilical artery PI was elevated in 43(43.0%) patients and was normal in  57(57.0%) patients. Umbilical  artery RI was more than and equal to 0.7 in 77 patients  (77%) and was below of 0.7 in 23 (23%) pa-tients.9(9.0%)  fetuses showed  absence  and  14 (14.0%) fetus  had  reversal and 46 (46.0%) had reduced  end diastolic umbilical artery flow with total 69 out of 100  fetuses  having  abnormal  waveforms.65 (65%)  mothers  had  an  elevated  uterine  artery  PI   and  35(35%)  patients   had  normal uterine  artery PI. in observation 69 (69%)  patients  were  having  RI more  than 0.6, while 31 (31%) were having less than 0.6 out of 100 patients. In this study, 65 (65.0%) women were having persistent diastolic notch.Conclusions: This study was to evaluate arterial flow velocities as a predictor of impending pregnancy induced hypertension with raised RI and PI along with umbilical ab-sent or reverse end diastolic flow velocities and elevated RI and PI in the presence of a diastolic notch are considered as abnormal uterine doppler findings doppler finding with unfavorable outcome.

Objective:To test the validity and reliability of the University of California at Los Angeles Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Reaction Index for DSM-Ⅳ (Revision 1,Children version) (UCLA PTSD-RI) in Chinese Children after flood.Methods:On the principle of convenient sampling,the students were chosen from 6 schools in Liaoning Province where was hit by flood.Totally 1593 students [aged 8-16 years,average (11 ± 2) years of age]completed the UCLA PTSD-RI.They were randomly divided into two groups for exploratory factor analysis (n =796) and confirmatory factor analysis (n =797) respectively.The 21-item Depression Anxiety Stress Scale(DASS-21) were used to evaluate the criterion validity.Results:The result of exploratory factor analysis indicated UCLA PTSD-RI consisted of 3 factors,accounting for 50% of the total variance.The confirmatory factor analysis identified that a three-factor model fit well (x2/df=3.87,GFI =0.93,RFI =0.96,CFI =097,NNFI =0.97,IFI =0.97,RM-SEA =0.06).The scores of UCLA PTSD-RI subscales were positively correlated with the scores of DASS-21 subscales (r =0.52-0.70,Ps < 0.001).The Cronbach's a coefficient and the split-half reliability coefficient of UCLA PTSD-RI were 0.90 and 0.87,respectively.Conclusion:The Chinese Version of the UCLA PTSD Reaction Index for DSM-Ⅳ (Revision 1,Children version) could be an effective instrument for assessing and diagnosing PTSD of Chinese children after disasters.

OBJECTIVE:To systematically evaluate the relationship of multi-drug resistance gene MDR1 C3435T gene polymor-phism with therapeutic efficacy of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs)-based triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication. METH-ODS:Retrieved from PubMed,EMBbase,CBM,CJFD,Wanfang database and VIP,clinical studies about MDR1 C3435T gene polymorphism and PPIs-based triple therapy for the eradication of H. pylori infection were collected. Meta-analysis was performed by using Rev Man 5.3 statistical software after data extraction and quality evaluation by using STREGA statement. RESULTS:A to-tal of 7 studies were included,involving 1019 patients. The results of MDR1 C3435T genotyping in patients were classified as wild homozygote genotype(CC),mutant heterozygous genotype(CT)and mutant homozygote genotype(TT). The results of Me-ta-analysis showed that there was no statistical significance in the eradication rate of H. pylori among CC,CT and TT groups of MDR1 C3435T gene polymorphism [CC vs. CT:OR=0.99,95%CI(0.69,1.42) ,P=0.95;CC vs.TT:OR=1.44,95%CI(0.66, 3.15),P=0.36;CT vs.TT:OR=1.54,95%CI(0.86,2.73),P=0.14]. Subgroup analysis showed the eradication rate of H. pylori in CT genotype group was higher than that in TT genotype group among Asian population [OR=2.35,95%CI(1.53,3.62),P<0.001]. CONCLUSIONS:MDR1 C3435T gene polymorphism basically do not affect therapeutic efficacy of PPIs-based triple thera-py for H. pylori eradication. For Asian population,gene detection is useful for the treatment.

Objective To observe the effect of medical ozone on the expression of IL1R,CXCL-13 and IL24 gene in synovial membrane of osteoarthritis of knee joint. Methods Sixty-five cases of knee osteoarthritis including 11 lost-cases were selected ,and randomly divided into combination group and arthroscopy group with 27 cases in each group. After arthroscopic surgery ,combination group performed intra-articular injection of 40μg/mL concentration of medical ozone 40 mL/week for 2 weeks but arthroscopic surgery group had no ozone injection. Differences of the expression of IL1R I,CXCL13 and IL24 gene and protein in synovium were compared before and after the treatment in two groups by RT-PCR and Western blot. Results Expression of IL1R I gene and protein in synovium of combination group was significantly lower than that of arthroscopy group and it showed statistical significance(P<0.01). Expression of CXCL13 gene and IL24 gene and protein in synovium of combination group was higher than those of arthroscopy group and it had statistical significance (P < 0.05). Conclusions Medical ozone can reduce the symptoms of arthritis and slow synovitis progress through influencing the expression of IL1R, CXCL-13 and IL24 gene. The effect of ozone combined with arthroscopic is better than that of simple arthroscopic debridement,but cannot stop and reverse the progression of the disease completely.

Objective To explore the lethal action and possible mechanism of RI-1, a RAD51 inhibitor, on MSH2 deficient colorectal cancer cells.Methods The expression of MSH2 protein level was assessed by Western blot, and the sensibility of human colorectal cancer cells to RI-1 (10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 μmol/L)was measured by MTT method.Lentivirus vectors MSH2-shRNA and Neg-shRNA (negative control) were constructed and transfected into HT29 cell.Apoptosis and DNA damage of cells treated with RI-1(40 μmol/L)were detected by flow cytometry and Single cell gel electrophoresis respectively.In addition, the formation of γ-H2AX foci was analyzed by immunofluorescence.Results Compared with control, MSH2-deficient HCT8 cells had obviously apoptosis(P<0.01);in HCT8 and HT29 Shmsh2 cells, tail DNA%, tail length, tail moment and olive tail moment were markedly increased(P<0.05),and the number of γ-H2AX focus were increased(P<0.01).Conclusions RAD51 inhibitor RI-1 selectively kills MSH2 deficient colorectal cancer cells by increasing DNA damage.

Objective To discuss the clinical value of magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of inner ear lesion.Methods 94 patients who took magnetic resonance imaging water imaging were selected as study subjects from February 2014 to October 2016 in Heilongjiang Province Hospital.All the patients had surgical data,CT,MRI water imaging data.Based on the standard data of surgery gold,analyzed the sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of CT and MRI in the diagnosis of inner ear lesions,compared the statistical differences between the two methods of examination.Results The sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value and negative predictive value of MRI water imaging in diagnosis of inner ear werehigher than CT,but the differences were no statistically significant (all P > 0.05).In the case of abnormal vestibular aqueduct (x2 =7.265,P =0.015),cochlear deformity (x2 =5.042,P =0.028),diagnostic accuracy of cochlear fibrosis (x2 =5.492,P =0.027),the differences were statistically significant(all P < O.05).Conclusion MRI water imaging can effectively provide the information of ear canal,eudometrial and other internal organs,can provide a favorable clinical diagnosis,it is worth to promote the application in the clinical work.

Aim To observe the effects of active com-ponent of Radix Isatidis ( ACRI ) on anti-anoxia and anti-fatigue in mice and investigate its possible mecha-nism. Methods Based on the weights, the mice were randomly divided into 5 groups: blank control group, ACRI 25, 50 and 100 mg·kg-1 groups, positive drug ( American ginseng liquid) control group 3 mL·kg-1 . Drugs were administered to the mice for about 14 con-secutive days, and during the experiment general situa-tions of mice were observed. The experiment of bearing hypoxia at normal pressure and the experiment of swim-ming while weight-bearing were conducted to study the effect of ACRI on anti-anoxia and anti-fatigue in mice. Then the superoxide dismutase ( SOD ) activities, the content of maleic dialdehyde ( MDA ) of mice serum and liver and blood urea nitrogen, blood lactic acid, liver glycogen were detected, in order to investigate its mechanism. Results ACRI decreased the growth rate of body weight in mice significantly, obviously pro-longed the survival time of anoxic mice at normal pres-sure and the swimming time of loaded mice, enhanced the SOD activities of mice blood and liver, decreased the MDA content of mice blood and liver, increased the content of liver glycogen, and decreased the blood urea nitrogen and blood lactic acid in mice after swim-ming. Conclusion ACRI has the anti-anoxia and anti-fatigue functions.

background: Percutaneous septal ablation is a therapeutic option for patients with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy refrac-tory to optimal medical therapy. However, results of initial persistence and long-term safety are still controversial. Objectives: The aim of this study was to report percutaneous alcohol septal ablation technique, clinical and functional outcome, cardiovascular events and its impact on long-term follow-up. Methods: A total of 23 patients were included in the study. Functional class (FC), left ventricular outflow tract gradient before and after the procedure and long-term cardiovascular events were evaluated. results: Median follow-up was 52 months (IR 33-72). All patients were in FC III or IV prior to the procedure, under maximum tolerated medical therapy. The procedure was successful in 91% of cases, with 85% of patients currently in FC I and 15% in FC II. Baseline left ventricular outflow tract gradient decreased from 75 mmHg (95% CI 51-89) to 25 mmHg (95% CI 10-37) (p <0.003) and with Valsalva maneuver from 118 mmHg (95% CI 88-152) to 38 mmHg (95% CI 16-69) (p <0.0002), persisting in the long-term follow-up. During hospitalization, two patients presented with complete atrioventricular block requiring permanent pacemaker implantation. No cardiovascular deaths occurred during follow up. Conclusions: Alcohol septal ablation is a promising option for the treatment of a selected population with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, generating sustained clinical and functional improvement with low incidence of events in the long-term follow up.

In this article, a method to determine the content of liquiritin, ammonium glycyrrhetate, costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone in Mongolia medicine Ga Ri Di-13 pill was established. The chromatographic condition for liquiritin and ammonium glycyrrhetate was listed as the below: with Dimma column (250 mm×4.6 mm, 5μm) as stationary phase; with acetonitrile (A)-0.4%phosphoric acid (B) as mobile phase; gradient elution: 0-10 min (16%-18% A), 10-30 min (18% A), 30-40 min (18%-27% A), 40-85 min (27%-45% A), and 85-86 min (45%-16%A); column temperature was set at 30℃; detection wavelength was 237 nm; and flow velocity was 1 mL·min-1. The chromatographic column condition for costunalide and dehydrocostus lactone was listed as the below: with Dimma column (250 mm×4.6 mm, 5μm) as stationary phase; with acetonitrile-water (65:35) as mobile phase; detection wavelength was 225 nm; column temperature was set at 30℃ and flow velocity was 1.0 mL·min-1. The linearity ranges of liquiritin, ammonium glycyrrhetate, costunolide, and dehydrocostus lactone were 0.1-1.2μg (r=0.999 9), 0.341-4.092μg (r=1.000 0), 0.12-1.2μg (r=1.000 0), and 0.106-1.06 (r=1.000 0), respectively; the average recovery rates were 97.07%, 100.13%, 98.44%, and 98.90%, respectively; the RSD were 1.00%, 1.84%, 2.21% and 3.38%,respectively. This method is specificity and reproducible, and can be used to determination of liquiritin, ammonium glycyrrhetate, costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone in Mongolia medicine Ga Ri Di -13 pill.

Background The pathogenesis of primary open angle glaucoma(POAG) and high myopia are very complex.To construct the regulatory network of virulence genes and relevant genes that involved in pathogenicity are helpful for reveal of the pathogenesis.Objective The aim of this study was to investigate myocilin(Myoc),a gene that contributes to POAG and high myopia in eyes of BXD Recombinant Inbred(BXD RI)mice and construct the regulatory network of Myoc.Methods The affymetrix microarray system was used to detect the differential expression of Myoc in the eyes of C57BL/6J(B6),DBA/2J(D2) and BXD RI mice.Expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) mapping was performed to construct the regulatory network of Myoc gene.Results The average expression level of the Myoc gene in the BXD strains was 10.83,and the gene exhibited expression levels ranging from 8.39 in BXD55 mice tol 1.43 in B6 mice.The eQTL mapping for the Myoc gene showed a significant likelihood ratio statistic (LRS) of 21.78.The QTL was mapped in chromosome 2,and Myoc was located on chromosome 1,indicating that the Myoc gene was a trans-acting QTL.Olfml2a was identified to be a candidate upstream gene of Myoc by analysis of bioinformatics.Genetic regulatory network analysis demonstrated that a series of genes associated with Myoc probably played roles in the pathogenesis and development of POAG and high myopia.Conclusions The genetical genomics approach provides a powerful tool for constructing pathways that contribute to complex traits,such as POAG and high myopia.

Aerial parts of Teucrium polium were subjected to headspace (HS) and hydro-distillation (HD) techniques after drying, then headspace volatiles and the essential oil were analyzed by GC/MS. Forty-eight and Thirty-nine constituents were identified in hydro-distillation and CombiPAL system which represented 99.7% and 99.8% of the oils, respectively. hydro-distillation method were α-pinene (30.8%), β- pinene (12.0%), myrcene (8.9%), limonene (7.9%), (E)-caryophyllene (5.6%), Germacrene D (6.9%), Bicyclogermacrene (4.5%), α- Eudesmol (2.0), valerianol (3.4%), and 7-epi-α-Eudesmol (3.2%) and the main compounds by CombiPAL techniques were α-pinene (38.8%), β- pinene (15.5%), myrcene (21.0%), limonene (13.1%), and trans- β- ocimene (3.4 %). The Headspace Technique is a new, rapid, simple and eco-friendly method for essential oil analysis of aromatic plants.

This study was undertaken to investigate iron status and related factors in female college students residing in Gyeongnam. The subjects were divided into normal (40.8%) and iron deficiency (ID) groups (59.2%) by iron status. Mean height, weight, lean body mass, percent body fat, body mass index, and wrist to hip ratio were not significantly different between the groups, but basic metabolic rate was significantly higher in the normal group than that in the ID group. The levels of hemoglobin, hematocrit, serum ferritin, transferrin saturation, mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration were significantly higher in the normal group than those in the ID group. However, total iron binding capacity was significantly lower in the normal group than that in the ID group. Daily intake of protein, heme-Fe, niacin, and vitamin C were significantly higher in the normal group than those in the ID group. The mean intake of protein, Fe, niacin, vitamin B12, and vitamin C based on the Korean recommended intake (RI) were significantly higher in the normal group than those in the ID group. The mean intakes of Ca, vitamin B12, and folate in both groups were < 75% of the Korean RI. In conclusion, increasing dietary heme-Fe and vitamin C may be helpful for preventing ID anemia in female college students.
