RESUMO

Currently, the outbreak of the new coronary pneumonia has entered a critical period of screening, prevention and control. In order to block the transmission of the virus in the radiology department, it is particularly important to effectively protect the medical servant while speeding up the flow of inspection.Based on the basis of notification of the bureau of disease control and prevention, the expert consensus of the CMA and CMDA, and the literature review, combined with the previous practical work experience, this article puts forward the recommendations on the important effect of nursing-technology integrated in the imaging examination of novel coronavirus pneumonia, in order to provide reference for the protection of medical servant in the radiology department at the front line of anti-epidemic.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the clinical features of osteoarticular damage of patients with brucellosis, and to enhance the knowledge of clinical doctors. Methods The demographic characteristics, clinical presentations, accessory examination of 265 patients with brucellosis admitted from January 2011 to April 2014 in Ji'nan Infectious Diseases Hospital were retrospectively analyzed.Patients were classified into two groups:Patients with osteoarticular complications and patients without osteoarticular complications. Results Of the 265 patients,forty-six patients (17.36%) had osteoarticular complications.Spondylitis was the most common complication [50.00% (23/46)],followed by sacroiliitis [41.30% (19/46)] and peripheral arthritis [26.09% (12/46)].Sacroiliitis was more common than other types of osteoarticular damage in females [21.74% (10/46)],whereas in males spondylitis was more common [36.96% (17/46)].Peripheral arthritis was more common in individuals under the age of 17 years old [4.35% (2/46)],and sacroiliitis were more common in the ages of 18-60 years old group [23.91%(11/46)] and spondylitis were more common in over 60-year age group [30.43% (14/46)].Patients with osteoarticular complications showed longer duration of illness from the onset of the symptoms to its diagnosis (median 45 days),compared to those non-osteoarticular brucellosis (median 30 days,Z =5.74,P < 0.05).Conclusion Due to diversity of osteoarticular damage in patients with brucellosis,in case of a patient with long-term fever and osteoarticular symptoms, medical and epidemiological history should be inquired so as to strengthen early diagnosis and treatment of the disease based on combination with radiological findings.

RESUMO

Objective: To evaluate anti-arthritic potential of methanolic extract of rhizome of Costus speciosus Koen. Methods: The powdered drug was extracted with 80% methanol. The crude extract was subjected to phytochemical investigation and was evaluated for its anti-arthritic potential by freund’s complete adjuvant induced arthritis model in adult wistar albino rats. Determination of different parameters like arthritic score, arthritic index, paw thickness, body weight, and pain, altered liver enzymes and biochemical estimation like, nitric oxide level and Plasma TNF-α level was done. Finally, radiological estimation and histopathology of tibio tarsal joints was performed. Statistical analysis was performed using one way ANOVA followed by Dunnet’s test at different p-values. Results: Phytochemical study revealed the presence of flavonoids, phenolic compound, saponins and carbohydrates. For different parameter mentioned above, anti-arthritic activity shown by prophylactic high dose test extract (200 mg/kg) was as potent as standard drug Indomethacin (10 mg/kg). The effect of Prophylactic low dose extract (100 mg/kg) and therapeutic high dose extract (200 mg/kg) was less than that of Indomethacin (10 mg/kg). Furthermore, Therapeutic low dose extract (100 mg/kg) was not effective. Conclusions: The obtained results indicate that Costus speciosus rhizome extract possess significant anti-arthrtic potential.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the determinant factors influencing the constituent parts of radiological examination in severe trauma patients so as to provide scientific basis for optimized strategy of radiological examination. Methods A prospective study was carried out from April to July 2010 in a tertiary hospital. Clinical data of 60 severe trauma patients admitted to emergency department and ICU were recorded. The type, number and site of trauma under radiological examination were described and compared among different stages of treatment. The correlation between number of radiological examinations and age, number of injured site, injury severity score (ISS), Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), ICU stay and overall length of hospital stay were analyzed. Results (1) The majority of radiological examinations in 60 patients were radiography and CT, with a corresponding median number of 6.0(3.0~ 11.0, IQR)and 10.0(8.0 ~ 13.8, Qr) times per patient. (2) The numbers of radiography examinations requested in emergency room, emergency ICU and general ward were quite approximately equal (x2 =4.043 ,P =0. 132), while CT examinations were mainly requested in emergency room and emergency ICU (x2 = 20. 274 , P < 0. 001). (3) The numbers of radiological examinations requested for different sites of injury were quite significantly different between radiography and CT during different stages of treatment (x2 = 114.609, 75.932, P < 0.01). (4 ) The number of CT scan requested was positively correlated with number of injured site, ISS, ICU and overall length of hospital stay (r =0.273,0.369,0.523,0.417,all P <0.05). Conclusions The sum of radiological examinations in severe trauma patients was great mainly in radiography and CT, and CT was more predominantly requested. The number of CT scans examinations was positively correlated with severity of injury and length of ICU stay. Further study is warranted to optimize radiological examination in severe trauma patients.

RESUMO

We report a case of an elderly person who alleged his age to be eighty five years, was referred from Health secretary as directed by the Honorable High court of Karnataka. The individual presented himself alone to the District Hospital for the examination and certification by the District surgeon. A panel of doctors was constituted, who examined the person individually and reported to the concerned authority. Surprisingly the age was found to be less by 25-30 years. This paper focuses on the difficulties faced by the experts in opining the age of elderly individuals.

RESUMO

10mm in diameter) which were mostly non-functional ones(63.3%), and 12 microadenomas(≤10mm in diameter) which were mostly functional ones(91.7%). Only macroadenonas had abnormal imaging in DR, DSA, while microadenomas had no change in above radiological examinations. Microadenomas appeared in low density on CT or hypointensity in MRI as the direct signs, and CT, MRI contrast enhancement raised its display rate greatly. Macroadenomas showed various contrast in the post enhancement CT or MRI. Contrast enhancement of CT or MRI were capable of delineating size, location, extent of the tumor and the remaining intact pituitary tissue. Conclusion MRI Gd-DTPA contrast enhancement scaning is the first-selecting method to diagnose the pituitary adenomas especially the clinical suspected cases.
