Aim: The aim of the study was to scrutinize the impact of spiritual intelligence on rejection sensitivity among young adults. The study also assessed the association between, Spiritual intelligence and rejection sensitivity. Methods: The data was drawn from an online survey of 203 adults between the age of 19-30 years, through convenience sampling the data was collected using, The Spiritual Intelligence Self-Report Inventory (SISRI 24), constructed by David B King and the RS-Adult questionnaire (A-RSQ) is an adaptation of the RSQ developed by Downey & Feldman, 1996. Statistical Analysis Used: The statistical technique of correlation was used to access the relationship between spiritual intelligence and rejection sensitivity, a t-test to access the gender difference in spiritual intelligence and rejection sensitivity was also used. Regression analysis was also used to understand the impact of spiritual intelligence on rejection sensitivity. Results: The findings of the study indicated that there is a negative correlation between spiritual intelligence and rejection sensitivity. In males and females, there was no significant gender difference in spiritual intelligence and rejection sensitivity which is in line with the previous studies. Finally, in terms of impact, spiritual intelligence had an impact of 42% on rejection sensitivity.

This study on the middle aged was carried out with a view to implement an empowerment programme for the middle-aged people to promote an active aging. The transition of middle age consists of important components like leaving the middle adulthood, crossing the line of retirement (for working people) and entering the late adulthood. The sample size was 500 middle aged parents of children who were studying in the residential colleges of Kannur district. Majority of the sample (54.8%) had an average and above emotional intelligence levels and only less than two percent of them had low emotional intelligence. Majority of the samples (65.4%) possessed an average level of spiritual intelligences and around 21.4 percent of the samples had low levels of spiritual intelligence. Out of the 500 samples, majority (65.2%) had less than medium resilient level of coping ability. Moderate degree positive correlations existed between emotional intelligence and coping ability (signifi cant at 0.01 level) and low degree negative correlation between the spiritual intelligence with the coping ability (signifi cant at 0.05 level. The present study also revealed that low level negative correlation existed between the spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence in general among the middle-aged parents whose children were studying in residential institutes.

Background: Holistic care addresses the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of the patient in which spiritual dimension plays a pivotal role in patient care. Objective: The objective of this study is to investigate the association between spiritual intelligence with stress, anxiety, and depression coping styles in patients with cancer. Methods: This analytic descriptive study was carried out on 276 patients with cancer receiving chemotherapy in university hospitals of Tehran University of Medical Sciences during 2013–2014. The participants were selected using cluster sampling. Data collection tools included patients' medical history, demographic questionnaire developed by researcher, spiritual intelligence self-report inventory questionnaire, ways of coping questionnaire, and depression, anxiety, and stress scales-42. Pearson correlation and multiple regression analyses were conducted to analyze the data using SPSS 20. Differences were considered significant at the P < 0.05 level. Results: There was inverse significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and stress (r = −0.268 and P < 0.001) and between spiritual intelligence and anxiety (r = −0.200 and P = 0.001) and between spiritual intelligence and depression (r = −0.317 and P = 0.000). There was a significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and coping styles (P < 0.01). The highest association was observed between spiritual intelligence and problem-focused strategy or positive reevaluation strategy (P = 0.000 and r = 0.668 and P = 0.000 and r = 0.667, respectively). Conclusions: Spirituality and religion are an important source of strength for adjusting of patients to cancer and help patients to achieve the sense of meaning and purpose in the course of disease. Implications for Practice: Establishment of settings in hospitals focusing on using spiritual intelligence to improve treatment outcomes in patients with cancer

Este artigo propõe a existência de sete dinâmicas de consciência, e não somente as quatro atualmente descritas pela Psicologia Analítica. A par da proposição de sete dinâmicas, teço comentários sobre a inteligência espiritual e sobre o processo de hominização, dados esses que concorreram para a proposição das sete dinâmicas de Consciência. Alguns dados aqui presentes foram apresentados no VIII Congresso Latino Americano de Psicologia Analítica - julho de 2018, em Bogotá-Colômbia sob o nome de "As sete Dinâmicas de Consciência". O texto atual foi acrescido de descrições pormenorizadas das novas dinâmicas propostas como componentes do elenco de dinâmicas de consciência regentes da personalidade humana, a par de tecer comentários sobre aspectos da sétima dinâmica que passo a nominar como da Compreensão Universal. As dinâmicas elencadas são: da Origem ou Urobórica, sob a regência do arquétipo da Natureza Divina; do Feminino ou da Grande Mãe, sob a regência do arquétipo da Deusa Mãe; do Masculino ou do Pai, sob a regência do arquétipo do Deus Pai; do Encontro, sob a regência do arquétipo da Coniunctio; da Comunicação, sob a regência do arquétipo do Verbo encarnado; da Vidência ou Antevisão do Futuro, sob a regência do arquétipo da Profecia; da Compreensão Universal, sob a regência do arquétipo da Totalidade.


This article proposes the existence of seven dynamics of consciousness, and not only the four currently described by Analytical Psychology. Along with the proposition of seven dynamics, I comment on spiritual intelligence and the process of hominization, data that contributed to the proposition of the seven dynamics of Consciousness. Some data presented here were presented at the VIII Latin American Congress of Analytical Psychology - July 2018, in Bogota-Colombia under the name of "The Seven Dynamics of Consciousness". The present text has been supplemented by detailed descriptions of the new dynamics proposed as components of the list of regent consciousness dynamics of the human personality, as well as commentaries on aspects of the seventh dynamism which I shall now call Universal Understanding. The dynamics listed are: Origin or Uroboric, under the regency of the archetype of the Divine Nature; of the Feminine or of the Great Mother, under the regency of the archetype of the Mother Goddess; of the Masculine or of the Father, under the rule of the archetype of the Father God; of the Meeting, under the regency of the Coniunctio archetype; of the Communication, under the rule of the archetype of the Incarnate Word; of the Seer or Prevision of the Future, under the rule of the archetype of Prophecy; of Universal Understanding, under the regency of the archetype of Wholeness.


Este artículo propone la existencia de siete dinámicas de conciencia, y no sólo las cuatro actualmente descritas por la Psicología Analítica. A la par de la proposición de siete dinámicas, hago comentarios sobre la inteligencia espiritual y sobre el proceso de hominización, dados éstes que concurrieron a la proposición de las siete dinámicas de Conciencia. Algunos datos aquí presentes fueron presentados en el VIII Congreso Latinoamericano de Psicología Analítica - julio de 2018, en Bogotá-Colombia bajo el nombre de "Las siete Dinámicas de Conciencia". El texto actual se ha añadido a descripciones detalladas de las nuevas dinámicas propuestas como componentes del elenco de dinámicas de conciencia regentes de la personalidad humana, a la par de tejer comentarios sobre aspectos de la séptima dinámica que paso a nominar como de la Comprensión Universal. A presente pesquisa, que visou a explorar o tema inteligência e alguns de seus respectivos desdobramentos, foi estruturada teoricamente a partir da visão psicométrica e teve como objetivo explorar a relação entre inteligência espiritual e os raciocínios abstrato, e verbal numérico em estudantes universitários do 1º e 5º anos de graduação do curso de psicologia de uma universidade particular paulista. Os instrumentos utilizados foram a Bateria de Provas de Raciocínio e o Inventário de Inteligência Espiritual (PSI). A participação dos estudantes foi voluntária e a coleta de dados ocorreu de forma coletiva em uma única sessão. Os dados foram submetidos à prova de correlação de Pearson e evidenciaram uma correlação alta, negativa e significativa entre inteligência abstrata e inteligência espiritual, sobretudo nos fatores divindade (r=-0,359, p=0,017) e diligência (r=-0,414, p=0,005). Os dados são discutidos à luz da avaliação psicológica, numa perspectiva psicométrica, visando a elucidar algumas questões acerca do construto inteligência espiritual.


The aim of this research was to explore the theme of intelligence and some of the respective developments. It was structured, theoretically, from a psychometric viewpoint and had the objective of exploring the relationship between spiritual intelligence and abstract, verbal and numerical reasoning in university students attending the 1st and 5th years of a graduate psychology course in a private university in the state of São Paulo. The instruments used were the Reasoning Test Battery and the Spiritual Intelligence Inventory. Students volunteered to take part and the data collection took place collectively in just one session. The data were submitted to the Pearson correlation test and evidenced a significant, negative and high correlation between abstract and spiritual intelligence, mainly in the factors of divinity (r=-0.359, p=0.017) and diligence (r=-0.414, p=0.005). The data were discussed in the light of the psychological evaluation from a psychometric perspective, aimed at explaining some questions about the spiritual intelligence construct.
