RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effectiveness and safety of Xiyanping Injection for the treatment of children with acute suppurative tonsillitis, so as to provide evidence for the prevention and treatment of pediatric acute suppurative tonsillitis with traditional Chinese medicine. Methods Two hundred children with acute suppurative tonsillitis were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, 100 cases in each group. The control group was given routine western medicine treatment, and the treatment group was given Xiyanping Injection based on the treatment for the control group. The treatment lasted for 5 days. The clinical outcomes covered the course of disease, the overall efficacy, adverse reaction, and time for the subsiding of fever, sore throat, swollen tonsils and purulent secretion, as well as the changes of white blood cell count, hyper-sensitivity C reactive protein, alanine aminotransferase, creatinine and creatine kinase levels before and after treatment. Results (1) After treatment, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 97.0% and that of the control group was 87.0%, the difference being significant (P 0.05). No adverse reactions of rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chest distress, shortness of breath, or drug fever were found in the two groups. Conclusion Xiyanping Injection is effective and safe for the treatment of children with acute suppurative tonsillitis by increasing the total efficiency, reducing the time for the subsiding of fever, sore throat, swollen tonsils and purulent secretion, shortening hospitalization time, and decreasing white blood cell count and hyper-sensitivity C reactive protein level. No obvious hepato-renal function damage occurred during the medication.

RESUMO

Objective To discuss the clinical curative effects of Kaihoujian spray in the treatment of acute suppurative tonsillitis in children. Methods 120 cases of pediatric patients with acute suppurative tonsillitis were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group (60 cases in each group); the control group were given conventional western medicine treatment, while the observation group received Kaihoujian spray on the basis of the control group treatment; clinical symptoms and curative effects of the two groups were evaluated and compared. Results In the observation group, sore throat and fever disappearance time, purulent secretion, tonsil swelling disappearance time and hemogram recovery time were all significantly shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05); after 3 courses of treatment, in the two groups, children temperature, sore throat, tonsil fester and tonsil swollen main symptom scores were all significantly decreased (P<0.05), but the observation group decreased more obviously (all P<0.05). After treatment, C-reactive protein, white blood cell count, neutrophils of the two groups all significantly reduced (P < 0.05), but the observation group decreased more obviously (all P<0.05). Conclusion Using Kaihoujian spray to treat acute suppurative tonsillitis could significantly improve the clinical symptoms and signs, whose clinical curative effect is good, and has no adverse reactions.

RESUMO

The review aims to assess the effectiveness and safety Pudilan Xiaoyan oral liquid in treating pediatric suppurative tonsillitis systematically through searching relevant electronic database and collecting relevant literature. Meta-analysis was performed with the RevMan 5.3 software. Eighteen RCTs of 1 883 patients of pediatric suppurative tonsillitis were included. Meta-analysis showed that: compared with the application of antibiotics alone, combined with Pudilan can effectively improve the treatment of pediatric suppurative tonsillitis in efficacy rate and shorten the time of recovering normal temperature, the time of tonsil purulent discharge and can also reduce the extinction time of sore throat, antiadoncus or congestion subsided and appetite recovery. There was no severe adverse reaction during the treatment. Compared with the application of antibiotics alone, combined with Pudilan may be more effective and safe in the treatment of pediatric suppurative tonsillitis, which can not be strongly proved at present for lack of studies with high quality.

RESUMO

Objective To reduce unreasonable use of antibiotics in acute suppurative tonsillitis cases. Methods Retrospective analyses of 1107 acute suppurative tonsillitis cases from the pediatric outpatient department were conducted.According to course of antibiotic treatment, these cases were divided into the group of full course of treatment and the group of insufficient course of treatment.According to the types of antibiotic, the subjects were di-vided into azithromycin group and non-azithromycin group.Three months after the onset of illness, the occurrence of complications and illness relapse between full course of treatment group and insufficient course group, azithromycin group and non-azithromycin group were analyzed.Meanwhile, the cases were divided into Chinese mainland group, Macao and Taiwan group, and foreign group according to their native places and nationalities. We compared the num-ber of cases used insufficient course in these three groups and analyzed their reasons. Results The relapse rate was significantly lower in the full course treatment group compared with insufficient course treatment group ( P<0.05 ) , and significantly higher in non-azithromycin group compared with azithromycin group ( P<0.05 ) .The occurrence rate of insufficient course treatment in the Chinese mainland group was obviously higher than the Macao group, Tai-wan group and foreign group (P<0.05).The main reasons for insufficient course of treatment were the insufficient patients′obedience and some doctors′poor understanding of the disease course. Conclusion A full course treatment with antibiotics on acute suppurative tonsillitis are strongly suggested. It may be of great significant to strengthen the awareness of reasonable use of antibiotics among the inland citizens.

RESUMO

Objective:To analyze the clinical efficacy and safety of amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium in the treatment of chil-dren with suppurative tonsillitis. Methods:Totally 263 children with suppurative tonsillitis from March 2011 to September 2013 in pe-diatrics were randomly divided into two groups, the control group had 130 cases and the treatment group had 133 cases. All the patients were given conventional treatment, meanwhile, the control group was with intravenous infusion of azithromycin, and the treatment group was orally given amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium dispersible tablets. The clinical efficacy, clinical symptom disappearance time and the incidence of adverse reactions of the two groups were observed. Results:After the treatment, the control group were cured with the total effective rate of 83. 8%, and the treatment group were healed with the total effective rate of 90. 2%. The difference wasn't sig-nificant (P>0. 05). Orally used amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium was more economic and convenient, which could reduce the drug-resistance as well. There was no significant difference in the effects on fever, purulent and the white blood cell between the two groups, and no significant adverse reactions showed in both groups. Conclusion:Orally used amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium ex-hibits obvious therapeutic effect on infantile suppurative tonsillitis, which can effectively improve the clinical symptoms without obvious adverse reactions, and it is worthy of clinical use.
