RESUMO

Stent Entrapment is a rare complication of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention if left in situ may cause intracoronary or systemic embolization, thrombus formation, emergent coronary artery bypass graft surgery, or death. We here present a case of 2 unexpanded Drug eluting stent entrapment during the procedure leading to hemodynamic instability and Its treatment using stent crushing as a life-saving procedure.

RESUMO

New biodegradable intravascular stent can reduce risk of foreign bodies retained, thus, it is widely concerned and some of the products have been introduced into the clinic. However, the characteristic of biodegradable may lead to more safety concerns associated with thrombosis. To ensure the safety, the thrombus formation experiment needs to be carefully designed and evaluated based on GB/T 16886.4 standard, but current standard do not provide explicit testing and evaluating methods. Establishing animal model with experimental pigs, the study compares biodegradable coronary stents and metal stents by simulating clinical implantation on the thrombus formation in the implanting process, and after the short-term and long-term implantation. The evaluation methods include gross observation, digital subtraction angiography intraoperative analysis, optical coherence tomography analysis, scanning electron microscopy and so on. The results show that combining these methods could comprehensively evaluate the whole process of the thrombus formation from the beginning of implantation to the end of preclinical animal experiments, so that, it may better predict the clinical thrombosis risk, and the selection of the control was very important. The study tries to use the comparison examples of thrombosis on the new medical instrument to provide the clue for thrombosis evaluation on similar instruments and show the methodology on the preclinical evaluation.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effect of Fuxin tablet on thrombus formation in the arteries in rats and aggregation of platelet in rabbits. Methods To observe the effect of OT in the arteries through electric stimulation of common carotid artery. To observe the aggregation of platelet by using the PRP of the rabbit and ADP as the accelerant. PAG-1, PAG-3, PAG-5 and PAG-M were examined in the normal saline group and high-dose, middle-dose, low-dose groups of Fuxin tablet. Results High-dose and middle-dose groups of Fuxin tablet could prolong OT and decrease the aggregation of platelet. Conclusion Fuxin tablet could significantly inhibit the formation of thrombus in the arteries and maximal aggregation rate of platelet.

RESUMO

BACHGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: The behavior of vascular remodeling is not exactly known to occur in the normal vessel, athough adaptive and pathologic remodeling occurs in atherosclerosis. We examined the behavior of vascular remodeling with an abrupt reduction of luminal area by indwelling a guidewire within an iliac artery in a normal rabbit. MATERIALS AND METHODS: New Zealand white rabbits (n=17, body weight =3.2+/-0.2kg) were dissected to expose the left femoral artery and indwelling a guidewire(diameter=0.035") was inserted toward the aorta in order to induce the acute irreversible luminal thrombus within the left iliac artery. Four weeks later, the manipulated iliac arteries were harvested. RESULTS: All iliac arteries were patent. There were three patterns of vascular remodeling in microscopic examination. In the first group(n=8), a simple concentric luminal dilatation with centrally organized thrombus was shown. The arterial wall showed increased wall thickness and a number of medial smooth muscle cell(SMC). The second group(n=8) showed luminal thrombus with neointimal hyperplasia, which consisted of migration and proliferation of medial SMC, and regression of the original medial layer. Vascular lumen was markedly enlarged. It appeared as wide lumen with extrusion of the guidewire toward outside of the new lumen and a transition from an old medial smooth muscle layer which had the original SMC in structure to a new layer consisting of linear SMC proliferation in intimal hyperplasia. Finally, sinusoidal plexus formation was seen within a thrombus in only one case. This sinusoidal vascular structure contained SMC with an extracellular matrix. CONCLUSION: We observe the pluripotent capability of vascular remodeling following acute luminal loss by a guidewire insertion in the normal rabbit iliac artery.

RESUMO

Object To investigate the effect of total flavone in Sanguis Draconis (tFSD) on platelet aggregation, thrombus formation and myocardial ischemia in rat and rabbit. Methods Adopting the experimental models including in vitro platelet aggregation in rat and rabbit, in vivo thrombus formation in rat internal vein, and acute myocardial ischemia by ligating the coronary artery. Results In vitro, tFSD could, to a certain degree, inhibit the platelet aggregation induced by ADP and PAF. Moreover, tFSD could markedly restrain artificial thrombus formation in rat internal vein and the area of acute myocardial ischemia after ligating the coronary artery. Conclusion tFSD has the function of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, anti thrombosis, together with platelet aggregation inhibition.

RESUMO

Objective To study the effect of cell wall polysaccharide (CWP) of Thallus Laminariae (TL) on thrombosis and blood coagulation. Methods Thrombosis was induced by arteriovenous shunt, ligation of inferior vena cava and electric stimulation of common carotid artery, after intraperitoneal injection of CWP or nomal saline for 3 days. The weight of thrombus and the occlusion time were examined in the normal saline group and high-dose (100 mg/kg) and low-dose (20 mg/kg) groups of CWP of TL.Blood coagulation time (CT),plasma prothrombin time (PT) and partial thromboplastin time (APTT) were measured to observe the effect of CWP on blood coagulation. Results Compared with the control group, both high-dose CWP of TL and low-dose CWP can obviously decrease the weight of thrombus and prolong the occlusion time,CT and APTT.High-dose CWP could also prolong PT obviously, the differences being significant.Low-dosa CWP also prolong PT,but the difference was not significant statistically. Conclusion CWP of TL can inhibit the thrombus formation and blood coagulation in rats.

RESUMO

Effects of thioproline on thrombus formation and platelet function were studied. Thioprolline given in vitro ( 1 g/L ) or ex vivo ( iv 25mg /kg ) shortened length of thrombi and decresed the wet and dry weight of thrombi in rabbits or rats. Thioproline given iv vitro ( 1 g/L ) or ex vivo ( iv 50mg/kg ) inhibited platelet adhesion and aggregation induced by ADP in rabbits.
