RESUMO

Objective:To study the application effects of situation video feedback combined with problem-based learning (PBL) on the clinical clerkship teaching of cardiac surgery for medical students in experimental class of organ-systems-based curriculum (OSBC).Methods:Medical students of Batch 2016 and 2018 OSBC reform experimental class of Jianghan University were selected as the research objects. The study group used situation video feedback combined with PBL teaching method to conduct cardiac surgery clerkship teaching, and the control group used conventional teaching method. At the end of the clerkship, the self-made "Clerkship Satisfaction Questionnaire" was distributed for questionnaire survey and the theoretical test was carried out at the same time. After the course, the theoretical examination was conducted, and the results were compared. SPSS 17.0 was used for t-test and Chi-square test. Results:The clerkship satisfaction investigation results showed that the study group was more satisfied than the control group in such 10 aspects as improving the interest of learning, learning efficiency, the ability of teamwork, clinical thinking, interpersonal communication, combining theory with practice, active knowledge acquirement, language expression, understanding knowledge point, and confidence to become a real doctor. Moreover, there were significant differences in improving the interest of learning, the ability of clinical thinking, and combining theory with practice ( P<0.05). The two theoretical test scores of the study group [(77.46±4.73) points and (79.80±7.53) points] were significantly higher than those of the control group [(70.68±5.16) points and (75.94±8.16) points] ( P<0.05). Conclusion:Situation-based video feedback combined with PBL can improve the clinical clerkship teaching effect of cardiac surgery for medical students under the teaching mode of OSBC.

RESUMO

Objective:The purpose of this study was to determine whether combination therapy has an effect on extrapersonal neglect (EP).Methods:The subject, who was capable of walking without the help of a cane or an orthosis, had right brain damage with left unilateral spatial neglect. We used a single-case study (BAB) design, consisting of a 2-week intervention phase, a 2-week baseline phase, and another 2-week intervention phase. The subject was trained seven times a week. Period A (baseline) included normal visual scanning training during walking, while Period B (intervention) included both normal visual scanning training with transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for neck muscles and video feedback (VF) with a smartphone during walking. The primary outcomes used Behavioral Inattention Test (BIT), and the Catherine Bergego Scale (CBS).Results:Both BIT and CBS improved in Period B. In particular, the CBS sub-items“Collides with people or objects on the left side”and“Experiences difficulty in finding his way towards the left when traveling in familiar places or in the rehabilitation unit”during walking improved, showing improvement in the results of CBS observation scores and anosognosia scores. Conclusion:In this study, we suggested that combination therapy has a beneficial effect on EP and awareness. We also reported the safety and feasibility of the combination therapy.

Outcomes of a study about the effectiveness of an intervention using video feedback for vulnerable families, called interaction guidance therapy (IG), are presented. The sample was composed by 19 dyads -parent and children between 2 and 10 years-, participants in social programs of family intervention. The level of behavior and emotional adjustment of children and adults was assessed, by means of a pre-post design with a single group. Statistical significant differences were found (p<0.05), with improvements in children problems, and in general wellbeing and anxious-depressive symptomatology of the adult, but not in the variables of contextual stress neither in the social relationships of the adult; IG seems to work better with children younger than 6 years of age. These results indicate that IG would be effective to improve the wellbeing and mental health of dyads in psychosocial risk requiring more research to support this preliminary trend.

The paper present a new form of intervention with multiproblem families called Interaction Guidance Therapy (IG) and illustrate it's application trough a description of one therapy process developed on a social program of Sociedad Protectora de la Infancia. IG is a brief therapy that, from attachment and system theories, focuses on enhanced caregiver-child interaction. IG combines family play sessions recorded on video, with sessions of discussion about whose objective is to show and to discuss positive and negative interaction sequences chosen by the therapist. Potential benefits with this families and challenges that implied to adapt and to implement a model of this kind in social organizations and health services in Chile are discussed.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of video feedback training for the parents of autistic spectrum disorder children. METHOD: Ten Autistic spectrum disorder children and their mothers participated in this training. Twenty minutes play times were videotaped including free play time and chosen play time. After one session, watching videotape, the researcher analyzed the relation of the children and their mother and had a feedback training with the mother of child. RESULTS: The child's responses to the mother's start actions had significant differences (p<0.05). The language responses of children increased in the organized environment of chosen play. Language responses increased but negative actions and no responses reduced when mother encouraged child centered play rather than mother engaged in children's play directly. In log sector model, mother's responses according to the play type had meaningless difference (p0.05). But in division analysis mother's responses to child's start action had meaningful difference in pre/post treatment and play type. CONCLUSION: The effects of video feedback training of autistic spectrum disorder children's parents were positive. Through this investigation the interaction and the communication with autistic spectrum disorder children and their parents are influenced positively.
