RESUMO

Warty dyskeratoma (WD) is a rare epidermal tumor that frequently arises as a papule or nodule on the head or neck of middle-aged or older persons. Histologically, it shows a cup-shaped keratin-filled invagination of an acanthotic epidermis, suprabasilar clefting with villi projecting into the clefts and acantholytic dyskeratotic cells are also present. The changes almost always involve a single hair follicle. We describe a distinctive case of WD that showed involvement of two adjoining follicles within a solitary lesion.

RESUMO

Warty dyskeratoma (WD) is a benign solitary tumor characterized clinically as a crateriform keratotic nodule and histologically by focal acantholytic dyskeratosis. The lesion of WD presents as a whitish or grayish hyperkeratotic papule with an umbilicated center, often involving the face, the scalp, or the back. Lesions are usually less than 1~2 cm in size. In 2007 a new plaque form of WD was first described by Omulecki. We report a case WD on the forehead presenting as a plaque form in a 9-year-old boy.

RESUMO

We report a case of warty dyskeratoma in a 59-year-old man. For 10 years, he had had an asymptomatic solitary 0.5x0.5 cm sized, erythematous, hard papule with a yellowish, central keratotic plug on the vertex. Histological findings showed a large cup-shaped, keratin-filled invagination of acanthotic epidermis, and a suprabasal cleft formation with corps ronds, grains and numerous villi at the lower portion of the invagination, the characteristic features of warty dyskeratoma.

RESUMO

We report two cases of warty dyskeratoma which is uncommon skin lesion. A 50-year-old male presented with an asymptomatic dermal nodule on periauricular area. Histopathologic findings showed the dermal cystic structures lined by epithelial wall of papillomatosis and suprabasal cleft formation with numerous villi and acantholytic cells. The second case was a 48-year-old male with an asymptomatic papule on cheek. Histopathologic finding showed the cup-shaped keratin-filled invagination lined by papillomatotic wall and filled with numerous acantholytic, dyskeratotic cells. Both findings were the characteristic features of warty dyskeratoma.

RESUMO

Warty dyskeratoma usually occurs as a solitary lesion on the head and neck. We describe a 57-year-old man with warty dyskeratoma on the scrotum. This is a very unusual location of this disease which merits consideration.

RESUMO

We report a case of warty dyskeratoma in a 65-year-old man. He had a asymptomatic solitary 1 x 1 cm sized, round, light-brownish colored, centrally depressed nodule on the right forehead for several yearss. Histopathological findings showed two large cup-shaped keratin-filled invagination of acanthotic epidermis, suprabasal cleft formation with corps ronds, grains and numerous villi at the lower portion of the invagination, the characteristic features of warty dyskeratoma.

RESUMO

The clinical and pathological features of warty dyskeratoma are presented. Warty dyskeratoma is a rarely encountered, solitary, benign cutaneous tumor occurring most often on the head and neck and to our knowledge, no cases associated with cutaneous horn have been published in western literature. We experienced a case of warty dyskeratoma with a cutaneous horn occurring in a 70-year-old male, who had a 1.3 cm-sized and slowly growing nodule on his neck. A brief review of the literature, was made especially in relation to the pathological findings and histogenesis of warty dyskeratoma.

RESUMO

Warty dyskeratoma is a rare, well-circumscribed epidermal tumor that frequently aries as a single lesion on the skin of the head or neck of middle aged or older persons. Its histopathological features include : suprabasilar clefting with villous proliferations of the connective tissue papillae into the clefts ; acantholytic and dyskeratoic epithelial cells, basilar hyperplasia, and hyperleratosis. We report three cases of warty dyskeratoma describing clinical and histochemical fea tures.

RESUMO

We present a case of warty dyskeratoma in a 51-year-old man. He had two, discret, well-defined, skin-colored papules with central depression on the scalp for about 5 to 6 months. Histopathological findings showed hyperkeratosis, acantholytic and dyskeratotic cells in the dilated follicular infundibulum with the villi formation and suprabasilar cleft around them, typical of warty dyskeratoma.
