RESUMO

Lung adenocarcinoma is a malignant tumor that is prone to distant metastasis. Common metastatic sites are brain, adrenal gland, liver, bone, and so on. Skin soft tissue metastasis is unusual, and breast metastasis is even rarer. This case is a middle-aged female patient who had experienced multi-line treatments for upper limbs, abdominal skin, and bilateral breast tissue metastases. The patient's multiple metastases were susceptible to radiation therapy.Reviewing the entire treatment process of this patient can find that the rational use of individualized comprehensive treatment methods and appropriate timing of genetic testing are very important for patients with lung adenocarcinoma to prolong their survival time and improve their quality of life.

RESUMO

Cancer of the uterine cervix is one of the leading gynecological malignancies of developing nations including India. A 45-year-old female presented with menstrual irregularities and other nonspecific symptoms. After initial workup, she was diagnosed with carcinoma cervix, Stage IV A, while she was being planned to take up radical concomitant chemoradiotherapy, she developed widespread nodules over various sites over the body, which were histopathologically proven as metastatic lesions. She was treated with a palliative intent by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Only a few such cases have been reported in the literature with variable outcomes. These rare presentations should be thoroughly worked up and studied to know more about their biological behavior.

RESUMO

Breast carcinoma to the colon and rectum is rare type of metastatic spread. We report a case of colonic metastasis from a lobular carcinoma of the breast twelve years after the initial diagnosis. Accurate diagnosis and early treatment of systemic therapy can be done if awareness is increased.

Primary ovarian carcinoma rarely metastasizes to the breast, and few cases are described in the literature. The authors report the case of a patient with ovarian carcinoma that developed breast metastasis eight years after the initial diagnosis, and present a literature review on this subject, emphasizing imaging findings.

RESUMO

We report a rare presentation of an initially misdiagnosed case of a pseudotumor, which on histopathology was diagnosed as bilateral breast metastases of lobular carcinoma involving multiple extraocular muscles. A 61-year-old lady presented with external ophthalmoplegia and diplopia. Incisional biopsy was performed using a lid crease approach and the patient received radiotherapy and hormonal therapy. Following prolonged hormonal therapy, complete remission was achieved, with improvement in ocular motility and resolution of diplopia, about 18 months after the initial presentation. Multiple extraocular muscle involvement by breast carcinoma metastasis is very rare and should be considered in the differential diagnosis, especially in patients with a prior history of breast carcinoma.

RESUMO

Metastatic tumors to breast from extramammary primary tumors are uncommon. A case of leiomyosarcoma metastatic to breast diagnosed by Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology is presented.

RESUMO

The head and neck malignancies constitute five percent of all the cancers world-wide. With increasing local regional control and survival rates, the incidence of distant metastasis is increasing. The most common site for distant metastasis from head and neck cancers is lung followed by the bones, liver, and mediastinal nodes. Breast metastases from extramammary malignancies are uncommon, constituting about two per cent of all breast tumors. We present a case of carcinoma of the posterior pharyngeal wall metastatic to breast in a male patient.

RESUMO

Breast metastases from an extramammary primary tumor are very rare and the prognosis for such patients is generally poor. We report here on a case of a 42-year-old female with metastasis of non-small cell lung cancer to the breast, and she is now being followed up on an outpatient basis. In 2004, she presented with a solitary pulmonary nodule in the left lung, and this lesion had been noted to have gradually increased in size over time. The final pathological diagnosis was adenocarcinoma, and the diagnosis was made by performing percutaneous needle aspiration and lobectomy of the left upper lobe. Adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy were given. Unfortunately, a nodule in the left breast was noted three years later, and metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer to the breast was diagnosed by excisional biopsy. Making the correct diagnosis to distinguish a primary breast carcinoma from a metastatic one is important, because the therapeutic plan and outcome for these two types of cancer are quite different.

RESUMO

Breast metastases in cases leukemia are very rare and occur primarily in patients with acute myeloid leukemia. We report the involvement of breast metastases in a 30-year-old woman with acute T cell lymphoblastic leukemia. The patient's mammograms revealed an extremely dense pattern with ill-defined, denser mass-like lesions in both breasts. A bilateral breast ultrasonographic evaluation revealed lobular-shaped and partly ill-defined hypoechoic masses with a multi-septated nodular (mottled) appearance.

RESUMO

Breast metastasis from nonmammary malignant neoplasms is uncommon, and it accounts for approximately 2% of all breast tumors. Distant metastasis of thymoma is very rare, and especially to extrathorcic areas. We report a female who had a metastatic thymoma in her breast 20 years after undergoing resection for a non-invasive thymoma. She presented with a palpable mass in her left breast. Mammography and ultrasonogram showed a lobular mass at the anterior glandular portion. Histological examination after surgical excision revealed a metastatic thymoma.

RESUMO

Primary lung cancer frequently metastasizes to distant organs. But breast is a very rare site of metastasis. So, accurate diagnosis is essential to rule out primary breast cancer. A 62-year old woman who had complained of cough was diagnosed as small cell lung carcinoma of the right lower lobe. She had a 2.5cm sized lobular mass in left upper mid portion of breast. Sonoguided breast biopsy revealed small cell carcinoma consistent with metastatis from primary lung cancer. She also had bone metastses to the scapula and the vertebrae. We report the case of metastatic breast cancer from small cell lung carcinoma.

RESUMO

Two Korean women (41 and 23-years of age) presented with painful breast enlargement and redness. The involved breast was confirmed as metastatic signet ring cell carcinoma. Although metastatic signet ring cell carcinoma of the breast shows similar clinical symptoms to inflammatory breast cancer, the difference between the two is that this malignancy showed no microcalcifications or mass on radiographic findings (mammograms and US). Therefore, after the confirmation of signet ring cell carcinoma of the breast has been made, metastatic signet ring cell carcinoma should be considered if there are no microcalcifications or masses evident on radiographic findings.
