ABSTRACT: Endometrial carcinoma is a very rare cause of cutaneous metastasis.The most frequent presentations of cutaneous metastasis are fast developing nodules or tumors, which are evi-dence of widespread dissemination in such patients.We report a case of scalp metastasis from an endometrial adenocarcinoma with a fatal prognosis. Effects of bletilla striata polysaccharideon on expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in rat ovaries and malondialdehyde in rat serum and endometrial morphology during perimenopause period / 局解手术学杂志

Objective To investigate the effect of the bletilla striata polysaccharide on the expression of ovarian vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and serum malondialdehyde(MDA)and endometrial morphology in rat during perimenopause period.Methods The animal model of perimenopause rats was established by unforced aging.A total of 40 female SD rats(12~14 months old)were randomly divid-ed into four groups:Chinese medicine low(0.5 g/kg),medium(1 g/kg),high(2 g/kg) dosage group and the elder model group.The rats were given with corresponding drugs for 8 weeks.The content changes of ovarian VEGF protein was detected by western blot;serum MDA con-tent was detected by thiobarbituric acid;the morphology of endometrium in rats was observed by HE staining.Results Eight weeks later, compared with the elder model group,the VEGF protein expression in Chinese medicine low,medium,high dosage group increased,the serum MDA content in Chinese medicine low,medium,high,dosage group reduced,the differences were statistically significant( P<0.01),with dose dependence.Endometrial thickening and glandular increasing with the increase of dose.Conclusion Bletilla striata polysaccharide can upregulate the expression of VEGF protein,and down regulate the level of serum MDA,which improves the uterine function so as to delay the process of perimenopause in rats.

A study of expression of estrogen and progesterone receptor, in atrophic, hyperplastic and malignant endometrial lesions, with emphasis on relationship with prognostic parameters.

Background: Aims of current study were to study the expression of estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) in atrophic, hyperplastic and malignant endometrial tissue, using immunohistochemical markers. Methods: The study includes 100 cases of endometrial tissues (25 cases each of atrophic and hyperplastic endometria and 50 cases of endometrial carcinomas). Results: In atrophic endometrial, 20 cases were ER and PR rich. 5 cases showed complete loss of hormone receptors (4 were type I and 1 type II). All the 25 cases of hyperplasias were ER and PR positive with varying H-score. The analysis of the hormone receptors in endometrial carcinomas, indicated that ER in 34 cases (68%) and of the PR in 38 cases (76%) were positive. Conclusions: Majority of the asymptomatic postmenopausal atrophic and hyperplastic endometria, expressed ER and PR. The value of the statistical significance was equal for atrophic vs. carcinomas and also hyperplastic vs. carcinomas. Positive ER PR expression was significantly associated with grade I-II and stage IB tumours. The correlation of immunohistochemical findings with histologic grade and clinical stage could help in predicting biologic behaviour and planning treatment in patients who are diagnosed as having these tumors.

The regulation investigation of the interaction between TACE and TGF-? / 重庆医科大学学报

Objective:To investigate the feedback regulation of transforming growth factor ?(TGF-?)to tumor necrosis factor-? converting enzyme.Methods:Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and immunochemistry were applied to detect TACE mRNA and protein in mice endometria of experiment group(TGF-? antibody was injected)and control group(saline was injected).Results:The expressions of TACE mRNA and protein in control group were higher than in experiment group.Conclusion: TGF-? could feedback on TACE expression in mice endometria and TACE-TGF-?-EGFR might one of the regulations during blastocyst implantation.

Ischiorectal endometria - a rare ischiorectal lesion

A female patient with 33 ages suffered the ischiorectal lesion that experienced incision without removal of lesion. The features suggested the ischiorectal endometria included solid organ caused pain in the ischiorectal region, no fever, increased pain and bigger organ during menstruation.
