RESUMO

Objective To explore more reasonable way of early post-operative effect of enteral nutrition fluids support for colon cancer. Methods A total of 86 case of colon cancer were selected and assigned to enteral nutrition group(EN n=45)and parenteral nutrition group(PN n=41)randomly.Parameters inclu ding the body wetght,IsA,IgM,lymphocyte, human serum prealbumin and albumen were monitored on three days before operation, the fifth, and eighth days after operation. Results The IgA,IgM,lympho cyte, human serum prealbumin and albumen levels of patients in EN group were much higher than that in PN group on the fifth and eighth days after operation(P<0.05).Also IgA,lgM levels of EN group patients were almost higher than that in PN group on eighth day after operation(P<0.01).Concusions It showed that to perform enteral nutrient supports for patients of colon cancer during early post-operative could increase their gut immunity after operation and reduce the complications and raise human serum prealbumin and albu men of them for their body recovery.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of the enteral nutrient(Pediasure) on making improvements in nutritional status of children with anorexia. Methods Thirty children were treated with pediasure for 2 months, twice a day, and height(Ht),weight(Wt),AG,TSF,SSF,ASF,RBC,Hb were measured before and after treatment and their appetites, alimentary canal reactions were recorded. Results Compared with the effects after 2 months, the average Ht,Wt,AG,SF all increased, and there was significant difference between pretreatment and after treatment(P0.05). All of the 30 children had no adverse reactions during treatment.Twenty-two children (73.33%) had better appetites and increased the amount of eating after treatment. Conclusion The study suggests that pediasure may be safely used in the treatment of children′s anorexia and effectively improve patients′ nutrition without adverse reactions.

RESUMO

The composition, nutritional evaluation and clinical trials of a nutritionally complete enteral preparation were presented. It was composed of glucose oligosaccharides, emulsified fat, solubilized proteins, twelve vitamins, certain minerals and trace elements. Rats were forced to negative nitrogen balance by means of protein-free diet. Body weight and serum total protein declined accordingly. When the feed was changed to this preparation in one group, and a routine one with equal nitrogen content in another, nitrogen balance was turned to positive, body weight increased, serum total protein returned to normal in both groups. The increments of nitrogen balance and body weight were, however, higher significantly in the group fed with the preparation than that with routine diet. The biological value, net protein utilization and protein efficiency ratio of the solubilized proteins in the preparation were higher than casein in the routine feed. Twenty surgical patients having the preparation as the sole source of nutrients could take around 8.37MJ(2000 kcal)a day. Nitrogen balance turned from negative to positive in an average time of 3.6 days. Body weight, serum total protein, serum albumin were all increased. Fourty patients took this as dietary supplement and the similar results were observed too. Clinical effects were excellent in all cases, especially for healing of surgical wounds and fistula. Incidence of diarrhea was 3.3%.
