RESUMO

By combing the application and funding situation of general, young scholar and regional scholar programs from National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC) in field of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in 2023, this paper summarizes the distribution of supporting units, application and funding hotspots, and the problems of application and funding projects in this discipline, in order to provide a reference for applicants and supporting organizations to understand the hotspot dynamics and reporting requirements of the discipline. In 2023, the discipline of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine received a total of 2 793 applications, and there were 1 254 applications for general programs, 1 278 applications for young scholar programs, and 261 applications for regional scholar programs. The amounts of project funding obtained by the three were 145, 164 and 35, respectively, and the funding rates were 11.56%, 12.83% and 13.41% in that order. From the situation of obtaining funding, the age distribution of the project leaders who obtained funding for the general, young scholar and regional scholar programs were mainly distributed in the age of 40-46, 30-34, 38-44 years, respectively. Within the supported programs, the Chinese medicine affiliations accounted for 55.52%. With respect to research subjects, the proportion of one single Chinese herbs, or monomers, or extracts accounted for 29.4%, but the proportion of Chinese herb pairs or prescriptions accounted for 47.1%. Research hotspots included ferroptosis, bile acid metabolism, macrophages, mitochondria, microglia, exosomes, intestinal flora, microecology and so on. The current research mainly focused on the common key problems of the advantageous diseases of Chinese and western integrative medicine, but still need to be improved in the basic theories of Chinese and western medicine and multidisciplinary cross-disciplinary research.

RESUMO

Through summarizing the applications and funding for research related to ethnomedicine and ethnopharmacology in the department of Health Sciences of the National Natural Science Foundation of China( NSFC) from 1986 to 2018,and analyzing the categories, numbers, funds and research contents of all funded projects including Mongolian,Uygur,Tibetan,Zhuang,Miao, the study is aimed to provide certain reference for the declaration of ethnic medicine project. The results showed that the national medicine project application numbers and the amount of funding growth after 2011 have increased significantly, but the overall level of research remained to be further promoted, and the lack of suitable for the study of ethnic medicine features and ways, has yet to mainland medical universities and research institutions to give more attention and jointly promote the development of basic research in the field of ethnic medicine.

RESUMO

Objective To analyze scientific projects about TCM constitutions funded by National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC); To understand its development trend and current situation. Methods The scientific projects about TCM constitutions in the fields of H27 and H29 were retrieved in NSFC Network Information System during 1996-2016 and "Dingxiangtong" during 1985-2015. Project year, branch discipline, project category, relying-on units were analyzed. PICO model of evidence-based medicine to build clinical problems was applied to analyze project research objects, clinical or scientific issues, interventions, methods, effects indicators, and the role of links. Results There were totally 61 scientific projects and 26.38 millions yuan funded by NSFC in TCM constitutions during 1988-2016. Project and the amount of fund to overall were on the rise, especially since 2010. There were 48 projects about TCM science, 21.77 million yuan (82.5%), 13 projects about integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, 4.61 million yuan (17.5%), including 27 surface projects, 11.32 million yuan (42.9%), 17 youth science fund, 3.32 million yuan (12.6%), 15 regional science fund projects, 6.34 million yuan (24.0%), and 2 key projects, 5.4 million yuan (20.5%). The units with the most foundation were Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (15), Xinjiang Medical University (6), Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (5). TCM constitution of zang-fu, qi and blood, and body fluid, clinical basis of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and basic principles of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine were the branches with the most foundation. Conclusion s Supported by NSFC, marked improvement and progress have been achieved in research on TCM constitutions.

RESUMO

Drug toxicology,as a discipline which studies drug toxicity mechanisms and evaluates comprehensive drug safety is of crucial importance for guiding sensible clinical drug use, reducing adverse drug reactions and reducing failures of new drug development caused by toxicity. This article summarizes the basic situation of Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC)funded projects in drug toxicology between 2001 and 2015,involving the amount of approved grants, funding rate, funding category and supported faculty, and the change of NSFC guidelines. Research topics, ideas and contents of NSFC funded projects are generalized and characteristics, problems and future trends are also analyzed to provide reference for research on drug toxicology.
