RESUMO

@#Berberine is a natural isoquinoline alkaloid extracted from Rhizoma Coptidis and other Chinese herbal medicines. Since berberine has a variety of biological effects, such as bacteriostasis, anti-inflammatory, anti-bone resorption and blood sugar-lowering effects, and is associated with few side effects, studies are increasingly discovering its potential application in the prevention and treatment of periodontitis. This review summarizes the relevant research progress of berberine in the prevention and treatment of periodontitis in recent years, aiming to provide a new strategy for the clinical prevention and treatment of periodontitis. The results of the literature review showed that berberine could prevent the occurrence and development of periodontitis by inhibiting periodontal pathogens, reducing periodontal tissue inflammation and inhibiting alveolar bone resorption. However, the mechanism of periodontitis is complicated, and current research remains limited. In the future, more in vivo and in vitro studies are needed to further explore the mechanism of berberine in inhibiting the occurrence and development of periodontitis, and more large-sample prospective clinical studies should be conducted to confirm the effect of berberine on the prevention and treatment of periodontitis.

RESUMO

Aim To investigate the effect of Medi- coscab Tincture could increase the healing rate of burn coscab Tincture on the wound repair of deep partial thickness burn in rats and its possible mechanism. Methods SD100 rats were used to make a rat model of deep partial thickness burn. The rats were randomly divided into five groups; normal, model control, positive control, Medicoscab Tincture high-dose, and Medicoscab Tincture low-dose. The dosing group was changed daily for 14 consecutive days. The healing rate and water content of wound were measured at 3 d, 7 d and 14 d after burn. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) and the content of malondialdehyde ( MDA) were determined by bio-chemical analysis. Serum levels of tumor necrosis fac- tor-a (TNF-a), interleukin-1 (3 (IL-1(3) and interleu- kin-6 (IL-6) in rats were determined. Results Medi- wound and decrease the water content of burn wound tissue in rats ( P < 0. 05 ). The activity of SOD significantly increased, the content of MDA decreased (P < 0. 05), and the contents of TNF-a, IL-1 (3 and IL-6 in serum of burned rats decreased ( P < 0. 05, P < 0.01). Conclusions Medicoscab Tincture can improve the wound healing rate, reduce the wound water content, increase SOD activity, reduce the content of MDA in the wound, and reduce the serum levels of inflammatory factors TNF-a, IL-1 (3 and IL-6. Therefore, Medicoscab Tincture has a protective effect on deep partial thickness burn in rats.

RESUMO

Objective By measuring the concentrations of serum IL-2,IL-4,IL-8 and TNF-αin chronic bronchitis patients before and after the acupoint sticking therapy which was also called winter disease treated in summer to investigate the effect of therapy on serum concentrations of IL-2,IL-4,IL-8 and TNF-α.Methods 30 cases of patients diagnosed with chronic bronchitis in paracmasia and did not recieve other related treatment were randomly divided into acupoint application therapy group (treatment group)and the control group. The treatment group was giventhree Fuacupoint sticking therapy, the control group was given thecomfortacupoint sticking therapy.Serum IL-2,IL-4,IL-8 and TNF-αconcentrations were compared between the 2 groups before and after treatment. Results In the treatment group, the serum IL-2 concentration of patients after treatment was significantly higher than that before treatment(P <0.05),IL-8 and TNF-αconcentrations were significantly lower than those before therapy(P <0.05).Af-ter treatment, serum IL-2,IL-4 levels were significantly higher than those in the control group(P <0.05 )while IL-8 and TNF-αwere significantly lower than those of the control group(P <0.05 ).Conclusion Acupoint sticking therapy in summer for winter diseases effectively increase the concentration of serum IL-2 in patients with chronic bronchitis, reduced IL-8,TNF-α concentra-tions,and enhance their own immunity ability, reduce the degree of inflammation.

RESUMO

Objective To evaluate clinical effect and safety of direct hemoperfusion with neutral resin (NS-DHP) on patients with septic shock caused by Gram-negative bacteria infection. Methods A total of 42 patients were enrolled in the study and randomly ( random number) divided into two groups.Patients of control group ( n =24) received sepsis bundle therapy, and patients of group D ( n =18 ) were treated with NS-DHP in addition to sepsis bundle therapy.HA330 hemoperfusion device were used in each patient of group D.The procedure of hemoparfusion lasted 2.5 hours and carried out trice a 24 hours.Clinical data including APCHE Ⅱ score,PO2/FiO2 (OI),mean arterial pressure (MAP),dopamine usage (DA),plasma level of endotoxin (ET),C-reactive protein (CRP),TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-10 were recorded during the treatment. Results Patients well tolerated NS-DHP without any complication in group D.All patients in both two groups did not receive long-term renal replacement therapy. At 24 h,48 h and 72 h after the initiation of treatment,APACHE Ⅱ score,O1,MAP,DA,ET,CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 improved obviously both groups (P <0.05),but there was no significant ditterence in serum levels of IL-10 in both groups. In the group D,APCHE Ⅱ score,OI,MAP,DA,CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 were improved more obviously than those in the group C (P <0.05) ).There was no significant difference in plasma levels of ET in both groups during the treatment. Conclusions NS-DHP can improve APACHE Ⅱ score,PO2/FiO2 and MAP in patients with septic shock caused by gram-negative bacteria infection and reduce the levels of CRP,TNF-α and IL-6,but has no effect on the levels of ET and IL-10 as well as on 28-day mortality and ICU stay.
