RESUMO

According to the principle of the types of hemangioma and the special structure of lip, infantile hemangioma is divided into 7 types as follows:superficial skin hemangioma, lip skin composite hemangioma, lip skin deep hemangioma, lip mucosa superficial hemangiomas, lip mucosa compound hemangioma, lip mucosa deep hemangioma and full-thickness lip hemangioma.Special structure and function of lip leading to tumor growth uniqueness and particularity of typing.Application of long-pulse laser combined with optimized pulsed light therapy is effective in the treatment of lip hemangioma.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Venous malformation in the pediatric population can present with pain, bleeding, or a debilitating deformity that can be difficult to manage. Sclerotherapy, surgery, and more recently, long pulsed neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd : YAG) laser have been used with variable success rates. OBJECTIVE: Our aims and objectives, were to identify the specific group of patients that would benefit from this treatment. METHODS: A prospective clinical trial was carried out with 59 consecutive patients. The treatment criteria included a large facial deformity and painful or bleeding lesions. One to three treatments were administered at 6~8-week intervals. RESULTS: A total of 59 patients were treated. The average follow-up was 24 months. All patients achieved good to excellent results in pain and bleeding control as well as in the reduction of the size of lesions in the lip and oral mucosa. The treatment however, is not effective in reducing the size of large, relatively high-flow lesions in the limbs. Complications from treatment include skin blistering (n=4), ulceration (n=4), and subsequent hypertrophic scarring (n=3). Three patients had partial recurrence after a 3-year follow-up. CONCLUSION: Complex venous malformations cannot be cured but can be symptomatically controlled with the long-pulsed Nd : YAG laser treatment. The treatment satisfaction is high, and there is a small but definite risk of scarring from treatment.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the distribution characteristics and clinical features of familial aggregation hemangioma to improve the level of the diagnosis and treatment. Methods Total 1202 cases of vascular disease were treated in this department from June 2006 to June 2011.The clinical data and family distribution characteristics in 36 cases of familial aggregation hemangioma were analyzed and their effects of laser treatment were evaluated. Results 36 cases were familial aggregation hemangioma, whose incidence was 2.99 % in 1202 cases of vascular disease cutis; and the ratio of male to female was 1 ∶ 1.There were 9 cases of parents suffering from hemangioma. But the incidenceof the next generation suffering from vascular disease was 28.5 %.Among these 36 cases of familial aggregation hemangioma,33 cases underwent the long pulse 1064 nm Nd ∶ YAG laser and optimized pulse light combination therapy. The effective rate was 100 %.Conclusions There may be a genetic predisposition in hemangioma. The application of long pulse 1064 nm Nd ∶ YAG laser and optimized pulsed light treatment to hemangioma cutis can obtain satisfactory results. The intervention should be taken in early stage.

RESUMO

Objective To treat facial telangiectasia with long-pulse 1 064 nm laser combined with AFT 540 nm photons and to observe the effect. Methods The disease was treated with composite vascular therapeutic apparatus of Alma laser.According to skin type and treatment response, the different energy density and pulse width were chosen in the treatment. Results After 4-6 times of treatment, the totally effective rate in 60 cases was as high as 100%without scar formation and pigmentation. Conclusion Treatment of facial telangiectasia with long-pulse 1 064 nm laser plus AFT540nm photons is safe and effective.

RESUMO

The goal of this study was to prospectively assess the long-term results of long pulse alexandrite laser depilation in 13 patients who underwent axillary hair removal initially since February 2000. Thirteen patients underwent laser therapy, four times every 2 months. The last follow up was 21 months later. The patients were treated with alexandrite laser, with 20J/cm2 energy density, 20ms pulse duration. Percentage of hair removal (clearance rate) was assessed by an average hair count in 1cm2 of the same treated area. The clearance rates were respectively 38%, 44%, 70%, 74% according as the therapy was repeated. There were no significant complications except for temporary erythema and vesicle formation. The long pulse alexandrite laser can safely remove unwanted axillary hair in a Fitzpatrick skin type IV.

RESUMO

Objective To develop a laser treatment machine for the benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH),which can both avoid the transurethral resection symptoms(TURS) and rapidly remove the big BPH.Methods The machine adopted a long plus laser with 80W average power and 1000W peak value power in order to rapidly vaporize the neoplasm.Because of its high power, short operation time and small thermal penetraction depth,it could avoid the post-operation edema of the organ is resulted from the concretion of traditional continuous-wavelength YAG laser. The control system based on AT89C51 dominated the laser power, and meanwhile,it monitored the process to protect the machine. It was connected with the Hospital Information System(HIS) via RS232.Results The chicken breast tissues were irradiated with the sample machine under water, and the groove irradiated by laser was 4mm in width and 2.5mm in depth with the irradiation speed of 5mm/s.The arbonation of tissue surface was slight and the thermal damage to the adjacent tissues was the minimal. Conclusion This machine can rapidly vaporize the neoplasm with the minimal thermal damage to the adjacent non-irradiated tissues. It is desirable for the treatment of big BPH.
