RESUMO

Focusing on the limits of the plaster application of Chinese herbal medicine in clinical practice, i.e. limit in the region exerted, inadequate meridian effect, more attention to the exterior rather than the interior and limit in the application of differentiation, professor - proposes his clinical experiences in the plaster application of Chinese herbal medicine based on meridian and differentiation, including: The Chinese herbal plaster application alone meridian course guided by meridian differentiation. Multidimensional plaster application on the base of the meridian differentiation of muscle region. Split-field plaster application by taking collateral differentiation as principle. Selective plaster application in association with disease differentiation. Specific plaster application rooted on differentiation.

RESUMO

The meridian diseases, abnormal psoas and abdominal muscles and abdominal pressure are key causes of low back pain. We treat low back pain mainly with lumbar back area, neglecting abdomen. The anterior-posterior acupoint combination, regulating to treat is effective. Based on the Chinese meridian-collateral and contemporary anatomy related to low back pain, the combination method, and its mechanism are introduced, so as to develop the thought and method for low back pain. A typical case is added.

RESUMO

Translational medicine, a kind of medical scientific practice oriented by patients'demands, emphasizes that basic theoretical study helps enhance clinical effect, transform into new drugs as well as meet major needs of social development and human health. It follows disciplinary development rules of TCM, persists in five-in-one (theory-clinic-new drug-experiment-evidence based) innovative new mode of TCM translational development, accelerates internal transformation of research findings, and promotes clinical effect and disciplinary development driven by the oretical innovation of collateral disease. In terms of the oretical research, establishment of new discipline of TCM collateral disease theory has become a practitioner and typical representative for promotion of TCM industry development. Important position and guiding role of theoretical innovation in disciplinary development has been valued. Systematically constructing ″collateral disease treatment based on syndrome differen?tiation″ and ″meridian-collateral theory″ lay a theoretical foundation for establishment of the discipline. With regard to clinical research, under the guidance of TCM theory-collateral disease theory, systematic researches on Chinese medical pathogenesis, intervention strategy and effective formula of major diseases are conducted; series of innovative Chinese medicines are developed. Through pharmacody?namics study, relevant action mechanisms are investigated and revealed in- depth. Evidence- based medical researches prove that representative activating-collateral drugs developed under guidance of collateral disease theory have great application values in prevention and treatment of major refractory diseases such as ischemic cardio-cerebrovascular disease, arrhythmia, chronic heart failure, influenza, tumors and diabetes, bringing about significant economic and social benefits. In this way, international cooperation is promoted and internationalization process of innovative Chinese medicine is accelerated. USA FDA phase-Ⅱ clinical research of Lianhua Qingwen Capsules has been successfully launched. Guided by inheritance and innovation of conventional theory of TCM, the new five- in- one mode of development is established. Such a mode conforms to disciplinary development rules of TCM, suffi?ciently exerts core driving effect of TCM theory, realizes combination of theoretical innovation with clinical practice, specialty construction with disciplinary development and clinical research with original new drug, as well as powerfully promotes progress of TCM collateral disease discipline.

RESUMO

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To compare the effect difference for stroke between meridian-collateral diagnosis and therapy byand conventional acupuncture with syndrome differentiation.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Totally 148 patients were assigned into an observation group(72 cases) and a control group(76 cases) by random number table, with 10 cases dropping out in the observation group. In the observation group, meridians were examined and differentiated and then the treating meridians and acupoints were defined. Corresponding acupuncture was used according to them. In the control group, acupuncture was applied at acupoints by internal differentiation and experience. Treatment was given once a day and five times a week, with total 20 times. The motion function of limbs and coloboma degree of nerve function were assessed by Fugl-Meyer score and National Institutes of Health Stroke Score(NIHSS) before and after treatment as well as at three-month follow-up.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>After treatment, the Fugl-Meyer scores increased and the NIHSS scores decreased in the two groups compared with those before treatment(all<0.05). At follow-up three months after treatment,Fugl-Meyer score upgraded in the observation group (<0.05) and NIHSS score declined in the two groups (both<0.01) than those before treatment, and NIHSS scores were statistically different between the two groups(<0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Meridian-collateral diagnosis and therapy byhas better long-term efficacy when it is compared with conventional acupuncture with syndrome differentiation for motion function of limbs and nerve function of stroke.</p>

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the sleep status, quality of life, activities of daily living and the serum levels of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) in insomnia patients after meridian-collateral stroke treated by the new family rehabilitation program, a combined therapy including traditional family rehabilitalion, acupoint massage and ear point application. Methods A total of 80 cases of insomnia patients after meridian-collateral stroke were enrolled. Subjects were evenly divided into treatment group ( treated with new family rehabilitation program) and control group ( treated with traditional hospital health education and family rehabilitation). Clinical effects of the two groups were evaluated with the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the brief version of WHO Quality of Life Assessment (WHOQOL-BREF) and activities of daily living ( ADL) . The serum levels of IL-1β and TNF-α were monitored before and after therapy and measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay ( ELISA). Results ( 1) After treatment for 28 days, the scores of total PSQI, sleep time, sleep efficiency and sleep disorder incidence in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.01) . ( 2) The scores of physiological, psychological, social relation, environmental dimensions of WHOQOL-BREF in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group ( P<0.01) . ( 3) ADL scores were significantly higher in the treatment group than those in the control group (P<0.01) . (4) Serum levels of IL-1βand TNF-αwere increased in the treatment group as compared with those in the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion Compared with the traditional hospital health education, the new family rehabilitation program can effectively improve the quality of sleep, quality of life, as well as the activities of daily living. And the mechanism may be associated with the up-regulation of the serum levels of IL-1βand TNF-α, which are relevant to the sleep status.
