RESUMO

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the effects of acupuncture on ovary morphology and function in dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)-induced polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) model rats.@*METHODS@#A total of 40 adult female Wistar rats were randomly allocated to 4 groups by a random number table, including control, model, metformin and acupuncture groups, 10 rats in each group. PCOS rat model was developed by injecting with DHEA (6 mg/100 g body weight) in 0.2 mL of oil subcutaneously. Electrical stimulation (2 Hz, 3 mA) was applied to Guanyuan (CV 4), Zigong (EX-CA1) and Qihai (CV 6) acupoints for 30 min daily in the acupuncture group, and metformin (200 mg/kg) was given to rats in the metformin group, both once per day for 21 consecutive days, and rats in the normal group was fed with normal saline and fed regularly. After 21 days of administration, the rat blood samples were collected for detecting the reproductive hormonal levels [luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), estradiol (E@*RESULTS@#Compared with the model group, rats in the acupuncture and metformin groups were significantly lower in weight gain, FSH, LH and T levels, and E@*CONCLUSION@#Acupuncture might improve ovary morphology and its function in DHEA-induced PCOS model rats.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the effect of Goserelin in protection of the ovarian function of pre-menopausal breast cancer patients. Methods Eighty premenopausal patients with breast cancer randomly divided equally into study group and control group. The two groups were compared in terms of the menstrual status and the levels of E2,FSH,LH before and after chemotherapy. Results The menstrual recovery rates of the study group and the control group were 90% and 57.5%,respectively ,with statistically significant difference between them (P = 0.018). In the study group, the serum E2 decreased gradually to the postmenopausal level, and the serum levels of FSH and LH were also significantly decreased during the treatment. While in the control group ,the E2 levels gradually decreased ,but the levels of FSH and LH significantly increased during the chemotherapy. Conclusions Goserelin can effectively prevent the injury of ovarian function caused by chemotherapy.

RESUMO

There is a strong support for a role played by adiponectin in the function of ovary and placenta. There is evidence of direct effects of adiponectin on the late stages of folliculogenesis, and additive interactions of adiponectin with insulin and gonadotropins in inducing periovulatory changes in ovarian follicles.Adiponectin has demonstrated a potential effect on ovarian function as well as a possible effect on the formation of placenta, via multiple mechanisms, providing new strategies for the etiology investigation, prevention and treatment of reproductive and related metabolic diseases.

RESUMO

Objective To study the change of reproductive endocrine function after improved hysterectomy. Methods 60 cases of patients who received improved hysterectomy for hysteromyoma were studied as study group, and 60 cases of patients who received traditional hysterectomy during the same period were set up as control group. Serum reproductive hormones in both groups were measured before the operation, in 1/2 year and in 1 year after the operation. Results In 1/2 year and in 1 year after operation, the serum levels of FSH and E 2 in study group had no significant difference as compared with those in preoperation, and the serum levels of FSH, LH in control group were significant higher, E 2 was significant lower than those in preoperation and those in study group. Conclusions Compared with traditional hysterectomy, improved hysterectomy can preserve the function of ovary. Therefore, improved hysterectomy is a good operation for treatment of benign uterine diseases.
