RESUMO

Fewer than 20 cases of adventitial cystic disease of the vein have been reported in the worldwide literature. This small number of reported cases may be due not only to the disease's low incidence, but also to the difficulty in making the proper diagnosis. Many techniques have been used to investigate this disease, but venography has been the traditional diagnostic tool. In this report we present a case of adventitial cystic disease that was well demonstrated by CT venography.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: We evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of a 64-slice multi-detector CT (MDCT) coronary angiography against a conventional coronary angiography (CCA) for the detection of significant stenosis (> or =50% lumen diameter narrowing). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Sixty-four patients underwent a MDCT and a subsequent CCA to evaluate the presence of atypical chest pain or suspected coronary artery disease (CAD). A MDCT angiography was performed using a 64-slice MDCT-scanner (Sensation 64, slice collimation 32x0.6 mm). The coronary artery segments were classified according to a 15-segment model. The sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic accuracy of the 64-slice MDCT for the detection or exclusion of significant CAD were calculated on a per-segment and per-patient basis. RESULTS: Fifty-nine of the 64 (92%) coronary CT angiograms were of diagnostic image quality with 93.5% (809 of 865) of the coronary segments assessable by CT angiography. One-hundred two (12.6%) segments showed significant stenosis by CCA. Stenosis of 50% or greater was detected by sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive valve, and negative predictive value on a per segment basis (89%, 99%, 97%, 90%, and 98%, respectively) and a per-patient basis (96%, 69%, 90%, 92%, and 82%, respectively). CONCLUSION: The 64-slice MDCT coronary angiography demonstrated a high diagnostic accuracy for both the per-segment and per-patient analyses for this symptomatic patient group.

RESUMO

A benign anastomotic stricture is a common complication of upper gastrointestinal (UGI) surgery and is difficult to manage conservatively. Fluoroscopically guided balloon dilation has a number of advantages and is a safe and effective procedure for the treatment of various benign anastomotic strictures in the UGI tract.

OBJECTIVE: We wanted to introduce a new technique for superselective catheterization of arteries with preshaping of a micro-guide wire into a shepherd's hook form, and this is useful for superselection of small arteries branching at an acute angle from a large parent artery for the treatment of tumors and hemorrhages. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We developed a superselective catheterization technique by using preshaping of a micro-guide wire into a shepherd's hook form. We encountered six patients in our practice for whom we failed to catheterize the small tumor-feeding arteries that branched at an acute angle from wide parent arteries during chemoembolization of hepatocellular carcinoma; the parent arteries were the right inferior phrenic artery (n = 4) and the left gastric artery (n = 1) from the celiac axis with celiac stenosis due to compression by the median arcuate ligament and the proper hepatic artery from the gastroduodenal artery (n = 1) in a patient who had celiac axis occlusion with collateral circulation via the pancreaticoduodenal arcade from the superior mesenteric artery. In these consecutive six patients, we tested the usefulness of this new technique with employing preshaping of a micro-guide wire into a shepherd's hook form for superselective catheterization of targeted vessels. RESULTS: The target arteries were successfully catheterized and satisfactory transcatheter arterial chemoembolization was performed in all six patients. There were no significant complications such as arterial dissection. CONCLUSION: We developed a technique that is effective for superselection of vessels with preshaping of micro-guide wire into a shepherd's hook form, and we successfully applied it during chemoembolization of hepatocellular carcinoma. This technique can be useful for superselection of small arteries that branch from a large parent artery at acute angles for the treatment of tumors and hemorrhages.

Objective: We wanted to evaluate usefulness of uncovered stent in comparison with covered stent for the palliative treatment of malignant colorectal obstruction. Materials and Methods: Covered (n = 52, type 1 and type 2) and uncovered (n = 22, type 3) stents were placed in 74 patients with malignant colorectal obstruction. Stent insertion was performed for palliative treatment in 37 patients (covered stent: n = 23 and uncovered stent: n = 14). In the palliative group, the data on the success of the procedure, the stent patency and the complications between the two groups (covered versus uncovered stents) were compared. Results: The technical success rate was 89% (33/37). Symptomatic improvement was achieved in 86% (18/21) of the covered stent group and in 92% (11/12) of the uncovered stent group patients. The period of follow-up ranged from three to 319 days (mean period: 116+/-85 days). The mean period of stent patency was 157+/-33 days in the covered stent group and 165+/-25 days in the uncovered stent group. In the covered stent group, stent migration (n = 11), stent fracture (n = 2) and poor expansion of the stent (n = 2) were noted. In the uncovered stent group, tumor ingrowth into the stents (n = 3) was noted. Conclusion: Self-expanding metallic stents are effective for relieving malignant colorectal obstruction. The rate of complications is lower in the uncovered stent group than in the covered stent group.

RESUMO

We report here on a case of spontaneous rupture of the left common iliac vein that was diagnosed preoperatively with computed tomography (CT), and the patient was successfully treated with surgery and stent placement. A 60-year-old woman was referred to our emergency room because of sudden left lower abdominal pain and swelling of the left lower extremity. CT revealed a huge retroperitoneal hematoma and extrinsic compression of the left common iliac vein with acute thrombosis of the deep veins of the left lower extremity. Venous patch angioplasty was performed at the site of spontaneous rupture. After performing thrombectomy with using a Forgaty catheter, a stent was placed at the occluded segment of the left common iliac vein under C-arm fluoroscopic guidance. The follow-up CT scans taken at 10 days and 8 months after the initial examination demonstrated a venous stent with preserved luminal patency and the striking resolution of the deep vein thrombosis of the left lower extremity.

PURPOSE: We wanted to determinate the value of a dynamic volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination (VIBE) as a supplement to MR cholangiography for differentiating biliary stones from tumors when patient are suspected of having intraluminal filling defects on direct cholangiography. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective analysis was performed for 49 patients who underwent MRI among all the patients who showed intraluminal filling defects on direct cholangiography for evaluating the cause of their jaundice from June 2002 to June 2003. After dividing these patients into two groups, i.e., the group with stones and the group with tumors, we analyzed and compared each MR patterns of 1) signal intensity, 2) shape, and 3) enhancement. RESULTS: High signal intensity on T1-weighted images (p< 0.001, chi-square test), dark signal intensity on T2-weighted images (p< 0.01, Fisher's exact test) or smooth contour of intraluminal filling defects (p< 0.001, chi-square test) could be significantly suggestive findings of stone rather than a tumor mass. Dynamic VIBE is the most specific sequence for differentiating non-enhancing stone from an enhancing mass (p< 0.001, Fisher's exact test). CONCLUSION: We showed that MR cholangiography, when added to the dynamic VIBE sequences, could be an important imaging technique for patients who are suspected of having intraluminal filling defects on direct cholangiography to differentiate stones from tumors. Especially, the addition of dynamic VIBE images can provide the increased level of confidence in the diagnosis.

OBJECTIVE: To present our experience with subintimal angioplasty (SA) for treatment of chronic lower limb ischemia (CLLI) and to assess its effectiveness and durability. MATERIALS AND METHODS: From April 2003 through June 2005, we treated 40 limbs in 36 patients with CLLI by SA. Balloons with or without secondary stent placement appropriate in size to the occluded arteries were used for SA of all lesions, except for iliac lesions where primary stent placement was done. The patients were followed for 1-23 months by clinical examination and color Doppler ultrasound and/or CT angiography. Technical results and outcomes were retrospectively evaluated. The presence of a steep learning curve for performance of SA was also evaluated. Primary and secondary patencies were determined using Kaplan-Meier analysis. RESULTS: Technical success was achieved in 32 (80%) of 40 limbs. There was no statistical difference between technical success rates of 75% (18/24) during the first year and 88% (14/16) thereafter. There were four complications (10%) in 40 procedures; two arterial perforations, one pseudoaneurysm at the puncture site, and one delayed hematoma at the SA site. Excluding initial technical failures, the primary patency rates at six and 12 months were 68% and 55%, respectively. Secondary patency rates at six and 12 months were 73% and 59%, respectively. CONCLUSION: Subintimal angioplasty can be accomplished with a high technical success rate. It should be attempted in patients with CLLI as an alternative to more extended surgery, or when surgical treatment is not recommended due to comorbidity or an unfavorable disease pattern.

Endovascular treatment has rapidly progressed due to the improvements of the equipment and endovascular devices. Continual refinement of the technology and techniques associated with endovascular treatment has led interventionists to perform more complicated endovascular treatment. However, the numerous complications of endovascular treatment are now well recognized and described in the literature. This article reviews various complications of three main endovascular treatments: balloon angioplasty, stent or stent-graft placement, and catheter-directed thrombolysis.

OBJECTIVE: We wanted to compare the transaxial source images with the optimized three plane, thin-slab maximum intensity projection (MIP) images from electrocardiographic (ECG)-gated cardiac CT for their ability to detect hemodynamically significant stenosis (HSS), and we did this by means of performing a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty-eight patients with a heart rate less than 66 beats per minute and who were undergoing both retrospective ECG-gated cardiac CT and conventional coronary angiography were included in this study. The contrast-enhanced CT scans were obtained with a collimation of 16x0.75-mm and a rotation time of 420 msec. The transaxial images were reconstructed at the mid-diastolic phase with a 1-mm slice thickness and a 0.5-mm increment. Using the transaxial images, the slab MIP images were created with a 4-mm thickness and a 2-mm increment, and they covered the entire heart in the horizontal long axis (4 chamber view), in the vertical long axis (2 chamber view) and in the short axis. The transaxial images and MIP images were independently evaluated for their ability to detect HSS. Conventional coronary angiograms of the same study group served as the standard of reference. Four radiologists were requested to rank each image with using a five-point scale (1 = definitely negative, 2 = probably negative, 3 = indeterminate, 4 = probably positive, and 5 = definitely positive) for the presence of HSS; the data were then interpreted using ROC analysis. RESULTS: There was no statistical difference in the area under the ROC curve between transaxial images and MIP images for the detection of HSS (0.8375 and 0.8708, respectively; p > 0.05). The mean reading time for the transaxial source images and the MIP images was 116 and 126.5 minutes, respectively. CONCLUSION: The diagnostic performance of the MIP images for detecting HSS of the coronary arteries is acceptable and this technique's ability to detect HSS is comparable to that of the transaxial source images.

PURPOSE: We wanted to evaluate the usefulness of a new type of a complex expandable nitinol stent that was designed to reduce the stent's propensity to migration during the treatment of malignant gastroduodenal obstructions. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Two types of expandable nitinol stent were constructed by weaving a single thread of 0.2 mm nitinol wire in a tubular configuration: an uncovered stent 18mm in diameter and a covered stent 16mm in diameter. Both ends of the covered stent were fabricated by coaxially inserting the covered stent into the tubular uncovered stent and then attaching the two stents together with using nylon monofilament. Under fluoroscopic guidance, the stent was placed in 29 consecutive patients (20 men and 9 women, mean age: 65 years) who were suffering with malignant gastric outlet obstruction (n=20), duodenal obstruction (n=6) or combined obstruction (n=3). Clinical improvement was assessed by comparing the food intake capacity before and after the procedure. The complications were investigated during the follow up period. RESULTS: Stent placement was successful in all the patients. After stent placement, the symptoms improved in all but one patient. During the follow up, stent migration occurred in one patient (3%) at 34 days after the procedure. Despite the stent migration, the patient was able to resume a soft diet. Six patients developed recurrent symptoms of obstruction with tumor overgrowth at a mean of 145 days after the procedure; all the patients underwent coaxial placement of an additional stent with good results. One patient showed recurrence of obstruction due to tumor in-growth, and this was treated by placement of a second stent. Two patients with stent placement in the duodenum suffered from jaundice 26 days and 65 days, respectively, after their procedures. CONCLUSION: Placement of the newly designed complex expandable nitinol stent seems to be effective for the palliative treatment of malignant gastroduodenal obstructions. The new stent also seems to help overcome the disadvantage of the increased migration observed for the covered stent.

PURPOSE: We wanted to evaluate the MR imaging findings of portal biliopathy. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the MR imaging of twelve patients having biliary abnormalities and portal cavernoma. Two radiologists working in consensus analyzed the presence of extrahepatic portal vein obstruction, cavernous transformation, portosystemic collaterals and bile ducts abnormalities that included irregular contour, stricture, ductal dilatation, wall thickening and enhancement of the ductal wall. RESULTS: Extrahepatic portal vein obstruction was replaced by cavernous transformations in all patients. The cavernous transformations depicted on the MR scans were paracholedochal veins in 12 patients and epicholedochal veins in 6 patients. Three different types of biliary abnormalities were present: 1) the pseudocholangiocarcinoma type (3 patients) that resembled extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, 2) the varicoid type (6 patients) that was mainly distinguished by the multiple smooth extrinsic impressions along the common bile duct and 3) the mixed type (3 patients). The highly specific findings for the pseudocholangiocarcinoma type disease were thickening and delayed enhancement of the biliary ductal wall. CONCLUSION: The MR findings of portal biliopathy include cavernous transformation of the portal vein and morphological alterations of the biliary tracts such as irregular contour, biliary stricture with proximal ductal dilatation and thickening of the ductal wall with delayed enhancement. Recognition of these MR findings should facilitate the accurate diagnosis of portal biliopathy and prevent the misinterpretation or inappropriate management of this disease as malignancy or sclerosing chloangitis.

PURPOSE: To review the radiological findings of retroanastomotic hernia and to derive the useful US and CT criteria to assist in the diagnosis of the condition in patients who had previously undergone gastrojejunostomy. METHODS: During a recent period, 8 consecutive cases of retroanastomotic hernia were encountered. Of the patients involved, seven underwent US and CT imaging. The US and CT scans were reviewed retrospectively to determine the abnormal findings. Surgical confirmation was available in all cases. RESULTS: The efferent loop was herniated through the defect created behind the anastomosis in seven cases, and the afferent loop in one case. Retroanastomotic hernia was suggested prospectively in all cases. Among the seven cases of efferent loop herniation, the US and CT signs of retroanastomotic hernia included whirling of the mesenteric vessels, jejunal loops, and mesentery in the periumbilical abdomen (7/7); mural thickening of the herniated bowel loops (5/7); dilatation of the herniated bowel loops (2/7); and US showed decreased peristalsis of the herniated bowel loops (2/6). In one case, the US and CT signs of retroanastomotic hernia of the afferent loop included dilatation and whirling of a short length of the afferent loop behind the anastomosis. One out of the eight patients had reVersible bowel ischemia, and one had bowel necrosis. CONCLUSION: Retroanastomoic hernia is an important condition, and the US and CT findings might be used for its diagnosis.

OBJECTIVE: We wanted to valuate the mid-term therapeutic results of percutaneous transhepatic balloon angioplasty for portal vein stenosis after liver transplantation. MATERIALS AND METHODS: From May 1996 to Feb 2005, 420 patients underwent liver transplantation. Percutaneous transhepatic angioplasty of the portal vein was attempted in six patients. The patients presented with the clinical signs and symptoms of portal venous hypertension or they were identified by surveillance doppler ultrasonography. The preangioplasty and postangioplasty pressure gradients were recorded. The therapeutic results were monitored by the follow up of the clinical symptoms, the laboratory values, CT and ultrasonography. RESULTS: The overall technical success rate was 100%. The clinical success rate was 83% (5/6). A total of eight sessions of balloon angioplasty were performed in six patients. The mean pressure gradient decreased from 14.5 mmHg to 2.8 mmHg before and after treatment, respectively. The follow up periods ranged from three months to 64 months (mean period; 32 months). Portal venous patency was maintained in all six patients until the final follow up. Combined hepatic venous stenosis was seen in one patient who was treated with stent placement. One patient showed puncture tract bleeding, and this patient was treated with coil embolization of the right portal puncture tract via the left transhepatic portal venous approach. CONCLUSION: Percutaneous transhepatic balloon angioplasty is an effective treatment for the portal vein stenosis that occurs after liver transplantation, and our results showed good mid-term patency with using this technique.

OBJECTIVE: We wanted to retrospectively evaluate the long-term therapeutic results of iliac arterial stent placement that was done in a single institution for 10 years. MATERIALS AND METHODS: From May 1994 to April 2004, 206 patients who underwent iliac arterial stent placement (mean age; 64+/-8.8) were followed up for evaluating the long term stent patency. Combined or subsequent bypass surgery was performed in 72 patients. The follow up period ranged from one month to 120 months (mean; 31+/-25.2 months). The factors that were analyzed for their effect on the patency of stents were age, the stent type and diameter, the lesion site, lesion shape, lesion length, the Society of Cardiovascular and Interventinal Radiology criteria, the total run off scores, the Fontaine stage and the cardiovascular risk factors (diabetes mellitus, hypertension and smoking). Follow-up included angiography and/or CT angiography, color Doppler sonography and clinical evaluation with the ankle-brachial index. RESULTS: Two hundred and eighty-four stents were placed in 249 limbs of 203 patients. The technical success rate was 98% (203/206). The primary patency rates of the stents at 3, 5, 7 and 10 year were 87%, 83%, 61% and 49%, respectively. One hundred seventy-seven patients maintained the primary stent patency until the final follow up and 26 patients showed stenosis or obstruction during the follow up. Secondary intervention was performed in thirteen patients. Lesions in the external iliac artery (EIA) or lesions in both the common iliac artery (CIA) and EIA were a poor prognostic factor for stent patency. The run off score and stent diameter also showed statistically significant influence on stent patency. The overall complication rate was 6%. CONCLUSION: Iliac arterial stent placement is a safe treatment with favorable long term patency. Lesions in the EIA or lesions in both the EIA and CIA, poor run off vessels and a stent having the same or a larger diameter than 10 mm were the poor prognostic factors for long term stent patency.

RESUMO

Although most patients with jejunoileal diverticulum are asymptomatic, a large, small-bowel diverticulum can be associated with midgut volvulus in an adult. We present a rare case of midgut volvulus that was associated with a large, small-bowel diverticulum in a 77-year-old woman presenting with chronic recurrent abdominal pain. The CT showed the characteristic whirl sign of twisted mesentery, the small bowel loops along the superior mesenteric artery and a large sac-like small-bowel diverticulum. A small bowel series also demonstrated a corkscrew appearance of proximal jejunum, a finding suggestive of midgut volvulus, and a large jejunal diverticulum. During the laparotomy, the small bowel was seen twisted counterclockwise 270 degree. The mesenteric root was very shortened. A 4 cm sized diverticulum was seen on the mesenteric border of jejunum, on the portion about 40 cm distal from the Treitz ligament.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the value of MR cholangiography (MRC) and MRC with additional T2-weighted axial imaging for evaluating the cause and determining the therapeutic plan in patients with a focal dilatation of the intrahepatic bile ducts(IHBD). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Forty nine patients (male, 27; female, 22; age range, 12-72 (mean, 51) years) with a focal intrahepatic ductal dilatation confirmed surgically and pathologically (lobectomy, 34; biopsy, 7; surgical finding and T-tube cholangiography, 7; percutanous transhepatic biliary drainage with bile cytology, 1) underwent MRC and T2-weighted axial imaging. The MRC were obtained in one of two ways (a single slab or multi-slice acquisition under chemical fat saturation) using RARE (31 patients, source images and single slice images), or TSE (18 patients, source images and MIP reconstruction images). Two radiologists reviewed the MRC images alone, and the MRC images with the T2-weighted axial images. A diagnosis was determined by consensus. RESULTS: In 37 out of 49 patients, the causes of a bile duct dilation were benign diseases (IHBD stones in 33 cases, liver abscesses with IHBD stones in three cases, one inflammatory pseudotumor). Twelve patients had cholangiocarcinomas (mass-forming type in seven cases, intraductal type in three cases, and periductal infiltrating type in two cases). A correct diagnosis was confirmed in 47 out of 49 cases(96.0%), i.e. all the 37 benign lesions and 10 out of 12 malignant lesions. The addition of the T2-weighted axial image to the MRC did not alter the diagnosis of the causes of the focal intrahepatic ductal dilatation, but was helpful in 10 cases (20.4%). Nine cases (7 cholangiocarcinomas and 2 abscesses), in which MRC showed masses, were visualized more definitely on the additional T2-weighted axial images to the MRC than on the MRC alone. The remaining cases were hepatolithiasis, where stones could be easily differentiated from air by the air-fluid level on the axial images. CONCLUSION: MRC is a good diagnostic modality for evaluating a focal dilatation of IHBD, and the addition of T2-weighted axial image to MRC is helpful.

PURPOSE: We wished to evaluate the usefulness of helical CT for the diagnosis of strangulation of the dilated small bowels. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The CT scans of 31 patients with small bowel obstruction from various causes were reviewed retrospectively. Thirteen of these patients were confirmed as small bowel strangulation by surgery and pathology. Fourteen patients underwent surgery, but they had no strangulation. Three patients were reduced by using a nasogastric tube and one infant with intussusception was reduced by air reduction. The following CT findings of strangulation were evaluated: reduced bowel wall enhancement by visual assessment and measuring the HU, ascites, thickening of bowel wall, abnormal mesenteric vessel location and whirlpool appearance, and mesenteric venous engorgement. For the precise evaluation of reduced bowel wall enhancement, the HUs were measured by 1 mm2 of ROI, and the differences of HUs between the well enhanced bowel and poorly enhanced bowel were compared. RESULTS: For the diagnosis of strangulation, measurement of HU of the bowel wall could improve the sensitivity from 69% to 100%. The specificity of both methods, by visual assessment and measurement of HU, was 94%. Ascites had a sensitivity of 69% and specificity of 44%. Thickening of bowel wall had a sensitivity of 38% and specificity of 78%. Abnormal mesenteric vessel location and whirlpool appearance had a sensitivity of 38% and specificity of 83%. Mesenteric venous engorgement had a sensitivity of 31% and specificity of 72%. CONCLUSION:Measurement of HU of the bowel wall after contrast enhancement can be a useful method in the differential diagnosis between the strangulated and non-strangulated bowels in patients with small bowel obstruction.

PURPOSE: To compare the accuracy of computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound (US) in the diagnosis of bezoars in small bowel obstruction. MATERIALS AND METHODS: During a recent eight-year period, 23 patients underwent surgery due to small bowel obstruction caused by bezoars, and 14 who underwent both CT and US were included in this study. The scans obtained were retrospectively reviewed by two radiologists working independently, and the usefulness of each modality in terms of diagnostic capacity, determination of the level of obstruction and detection of additional bezoars was assessed. RESULTS: At surgery, a total of 22 bezoars were removed: 19 from the small intestine and three from the stomach; multiple bezoars were found in five of the 14 patients. The presence of bezoars was demonstrated by CT in all patients, and by US in ten (71%) (p=0.125). The level of obstruction was correctly predicted in 57% of cases at US and in 100% at CT (p=0.03). Overall sensitivity was 55% for US (12/22) and 96% for CT (21/22) (p<0.01). In three patients with associated gastric bezoars, US revealed only one, whereas all were demonstrated by CT. In five with multiple lesions, only five (39%) of 13 were apparent at US, but 12 (92%) were revealed by CT. CONCLUSION: Both US and CT were useful for the diagnosis of small bowel obstruction caused by bezoars. CT however, was more accurate in determining the level of obstruction and in revealing additional bezoars in the small bowel and stomach.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the role of CT venography in the diagnosis and treatment of benign thoracic central venous obstruction. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Eighteen patients who had undergone both CT venography and digital subtraction venography were prospectively enrolled in this study. The following features were analyzed by two observers: the cause, degree, and extent of venous obstruction; associated thrombosis; and implications for the planning of treatment. CT venography and digital subtraction venography were compared in defined venous segments, and the degree of obstruction, and correlation was expressed using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. RESULTS: In all patients, CT venography depicted the causes of obstruction, including extrinsic compression of the left brachiocephalic vein, and mediastinal inflammatory pseudotumor. Interobserver agreement regarding classification of the degree of obstruction was judged as good for CT venography (k=0.864), and in evaluating this, there was significant correlation between CT venography and digital subtraction venography (reader 1: Rs = 0.58, p < 0.01; reader 2: Rs = 0.56, p < 0.01). In evaluating the status of central veins proximal to long segmental obstruction, and associated thrombosis, CT venography was superior to digital subtraction venography. In half of all patients, the findings of CT venography led to changes in the treatment plan. CONCLUSION: The findings of CT venography correlated closely with those of digital subtraction venography, and the former accurately depicted the degree and extent of benign venous obstruction.
