RESUMO

ObjectiveTo investigate the traditional Chinese herbs and core prescriptions commonly used by Professor Qian Ying in the syndrome differentiation-based treatment of primary liver cancer, and to guide clinical medication. MethodsA retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of the patients diagnosed and treated by Professor Qian Ying. A descriptive analysis was performed to analyze Professor Qian Ying′s clinical medication and prescriptions in the treatment of primary liver cancer, and the complex network and clustering with point mutual information were used to analyze the complex association between multiple traditional Chinese herbs. ResultsA total of 111 patients with primary liver cancer were enrolled. There were 287 visits, 287 prescriptions, and 132 traditional Chinese herbs in total. The core herbs used by Professor Qian Ying were Visci herba, raw Astragalus membranaceus, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Oldenlandia diffusa, and Polygoni Orientalis Fructus, and this result was consistent with the composition of Huqi powder developed by Professor Qian Ying. The prescriptions commonly used included Huqi powder, Shengmai decoction, and Xiaoyao powder. ConclusionSalvia miltiorrhiza is the special herb used by Professor Qian Ying in the treatment of primary liver cancer and Huqi powder developed by Professor Qian Ying is the commonly used prescription.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the effect of the Xiaotan Sanjie (XTSJ) Decoction on quality of life of patients with intermediate and advanced gastric cancer. Methods Non-randomized controlled trial was used in the present study, and the patients were divided into XTSJ group and chemotherapy group according to the voluntary principle. The patients in XTSJ group were treated with XTSJ Decoction based on syndrome differentiation (one dose daily, reduce or increase with the severity of symptoms) with patients having advanced gastric cancer taking for at least 3 months and those receiving radical resection taking for at least 6 months. The patients in chemotherapy group were treated with chemotherapy drug fluorouracil for 3 to 6 cycles. The quality of life of patients in the two groups was evaluated by measuring the quality of life questionnaire (QLQ-C30) scores, Karnofsky performance status (KPS) scale, body weight, and the toxicity. Results The quality of life of patients in XTSJ group was significantly improved than that in the chemotherapy group. The XTSJ group was superior to chemotherapy group in improving the fatigue, insomnia, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, and emotional symptoms (P<0. 05). In addition, the cost of treatment of XTSJ group was significantly lower than that of chemotherapy group (P<0. 05), causing no economic burden increase to the family. The overall health statuses were also significantly different between the two groups (P<0. 05). The KPS score and body weight managent in the XTSJ group were significantly improved than those in the chemotherapy group (P<0. 05). Moreover, the toxic effect of the XTSJ group was significantly lower than that in chemotherapy group (P<0. 05). Conclusion Treatment with XTSJ Decoction can improve the quality of life of the patients with intermediate and advanced gastric cancer by maintaining physical condition and body weight and causing milder adverse reaction.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the action mechanism of blood-stage treatment that affects psoriasis vulgaris using observation of the Th17/Treg expression.Methods A total of 32 patients ( blood heat group,n =17 ; blood stasis group,n =15) and 15 healthy people ( control group,n =15 ) were observed.The frequencies of Th17 and Treg in peripheral blood were detected by flow cytometric analysis in patients before and after treated by heat-clearing and blood-cooling decoction,qi-enriching and blood-activating decoction.Results The ratio of Th17/Treg in peripheral blood [ blood heat group (4.21 ± 0.52 )% ;blood stasis group( 3.32 ± 0.43 )% ] was significantly increased in patients compared with controls [ ( 1.79 ±0.18)% ] ( P <0.01 ).After herbal treatment,the ratio of Th17/Treg expression in the blood heat group [ ( 2.41 ± 0.22 ) % ] and in blood stasis group [ ( 2.02 ± 0.12 ) % ] was significantly decreased ( P < 0.05 ),respectively.Conclusions Blood-stage treatment works well on Th17/Treg expression in patients with psoriasis vulgaris.

RESUMO

To observe the curative effect of acupuncture treatment for chronic gastritis, 50patients with chronic gastritis were treated by acupuncture and another 50 patients as control treated by drugs; the curative effects of total and every therapeutic course were respectively compared between two groups. The total effective rate was 98.0% in acupuncture group and 88.0% in control group, suggesting a significant difference (P<0.01) between two groups, the comparison among 3 courses showed that there was a significant difference, P<0.01, for first, second course and P<0.05 for third course between two groups.

RESUMO

Objective To investigate the relationship of mental status, personality characterstics and TCM syndromes of spontaneous abortion(SA).Methods Symptom Checklist 90,Measure of Mental Health,Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and Diagnostic Questionnaire of TCM syndromes were adopted.Multifactorial analysis was fitted by non-conditional logistic regression model. Results In patients with SA,a positive correlation of somatization factors and kidney dificiency, spleen deficiency, blood heat and liver-qi stagnation.A positive correlation was also found between hostility factors and kidney deficiency,obsessive-compulsive factors and liver-qi stagnation.Patients with melancholic temperament tended to manifest as the syndromes of kidney deficiency, spleen deficiency and liver-qi stagnation, and choleric temperament tended to manifest as blood heat and liver-qi stagnation. Conclusion The syndromes of kidney deficiency, spleen deficiency, blood heat and liver-qi stagnation at least partially reflect the psychosomatic reaction or psychosomatic disorder induced by mental factors.TCM syndromes has a relationship with mental status and personality characteristics. The nature of their relationship needs to be studied further.
