RESUMO

La Medicina Legal es una ciencia fundamentalmente práctica, sin embargo su enseñanza de pregrado es en más del 90(por ciento) teórica, lo que constituye una contradicción. Por ser los profesores, los alumnos y los médicos de asistencia los principales grupos interesados en este asunto, se decidió realizar este trabajo para conocer sus criterios y reflexiones con respecto a la enseñanza de pregrado de la asignatura Medicina Legal y Ética Médica. Se estudiaron los 3 grupos por separado y en distintos momentos y se aplicaron encuestas de acuerdo con los intereses definidos para cada uno de ellos. Los datos se procesaron por medios automatizados y se emplearon como escalas principales, las cuantitativas de tendencia central y las porcentuales. Los resultados señalaron que los 3 grupos coincidieron en que la asignatura se está impartiendo de una forma fundamentalmente teórica, que debe aumentarse el número de clases prácticas y que la mejor manera de impartirlas sería en un servicio de Medicina Legal a manera de una rotación o en el hospital base de la facultad. Se concluyó la necesidad de rediseñar la enseñanza de la Medicina Legal, aunque para ello haya que redimensionar en parte, o durante el tiempo de esta enseñanza, la propia Medicina Legal.


Forensic Medicine is fundamentally a practical science; however, in the undergraduate medical education, the teaching of this subject is theoretical in 90%, which is a real contradiction. Since assistance professors, students and physicians are the most interested in this matter, it was decided to carry out this study to find out their criteria and reflections on the teaching of Foresinc Medicine and Medical Ethics in the undergraduate education. The 3 groups were separately studied at different moments, they were surveyed according to specific interests for each of them. Data were processed in computers and the main scales used were the central tendency quantitative and percentage methods. Results showed that the 3 groups agreed upon the fact that this subject was taught mostly in a theoretical way, that the number of training classes should be increased and the best way of giving the subject would be providing a Forensic Medicine service as part of the rotation system or in the basic hospital of the medical school. It was concluded that the teaching of Forensic Medicine should be redesigned, although it may be necessary to re-dimension Forensic medicine partly or in the course of the teaching of this subject.
