Non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction in a patient with essential thrombocytosis: Successful treatment with GP-IIbIIIa inhibitor

We treated a 37 years old female who has essential thrombocytosis and developed NSTEMI with GPIIb IIIa inhibitors in addition to standard treatment with dual anti platelet therapy, low molecular heparin, beta blocker and ACE inhibitor and had good recovery of left ventricular function without any bleeding complication. Since these patients have both bleeding and thrombotic complications, it is prudent to carefully follow these patients during treatment and on follow up

Análise volumétrica da hiperplasia intimal intra-stent em pacientes diabéticos tratados com e sem abciximab / Volumetric analysis of in-stent intimal hyperplasia in diabetic patients trated with or without abciximab

Noventa e seis pacientes com diabetes melito do tipo 2 foram randomizados para receberem ou não abciximab durante o implante eletivo de stent coronário, com o objetivo de determinar se esse inibidor da glicoproteína IIb/IIIa reduz a hiperplasia intimal intra-stent, avaliada pelo ultra-som intracoronário, aos seis meses de evolução. Interferon selectively inhibits the synthesis of Mayaro virus glycoproteins

We have previously observed that interferon(recIFNa2b) blocks the process of mophogenesis of Mayaro virus in TC7 cells (monkey kidney). In this work we show that IFNa inhibits preferentially virus glycoproteins and their precursors, and this effects is probably correlated to the alterations in the morphogenesis process previously observed
