Intracranial compliance in severe head injuries

The response of ventricular fluid pressure [VFP] to 1 ml of CSF volume was studied in 15 patients with severe closed head injury. This test has been termed as the volume/pressure response [V/PR] or the brain compliance. There is a positive correlation between the height of the resting level of VFP, the VPR and the final outcome.
