RESUMO

The damage of sweat glands in patients with extensive deep burns results in the loss of thermoregulation, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. At present, there are many researches on the repair of sweat gland function, but the mechanism of human sweat gland development has not been fully clarified. More and more studies have shown that the cascaded pathways of Wnt/β-catenin, ecto- dysplasin A/ectodysplasin A receptor/nuclear factor-κB, sonic hedgehog, and forkhead box transcription factor jointly affect the development of sweat glands, and it has been reported that the cascaded signaling pathways can be used to achieve the reconstruction of sweat adenoid cells in vitro. This article reviews the signaling pathways that affect the development of sweat glands and their involvement in the reconstruction of sweat adenoid cells in vitro.

Abstract Human secretions can indicate how some social groups understand the large number of possibilities to use the body. This study aimed to analyze how sweat can be perceived by the users when they are in a fitness center. An ethnography research was conducted during one year in Rio de Janeiro city, comparing a small and a large fitness center, the former located in a popular neighborhood and the latter in a noble neighborhood. Therefore, as long as sweat was noticed in a positive way in the small fitness center and related to performance improvements, in the other fitness center sweat was conceived as something repulsive, limiting the meeting between users and the exhaustive exercises.

The case of a 47 years old white patient, that presented repeated respiratory symptoms that only improve using symptomatic treatment or oral antibiotics. In 2000 when, he was 39 years old their symptoms increased and he required antibiotic intensive treatment and incomes at several hospital in Havana. After that, he was diagnosed with multiple bronchiectasis spread bilateral and infected Pseudomona Auriginosa, that could brings about, TB acquired at URSS when he was 21 years old. In 2008 because of the absence of lesions toward pulmonary apex in the Rx and the fact he couldn't have children aroused the clinical suspicion of Cystic Fibrosis and it was later confirmed by the accomplished studies. Our purpose to present this case is to alert and prevent that this disease has stopped being Pediatric's exclusive pathology and it should be taking into account when there is a complete picture of a multiple spread bronchiectasis(AU)

Sweat osmolality pattern was studied in Indian sub population of both controls and patients with congenital diseases. A Normal range for sweat osmolality was established for different age groups and sex (100-150 mmols/kg) and compared with the patients, who were clinically diagnosed as cystic fibrosis, Down's syndrome and mentally retarded cases. The study has revealed that sweat osmolality varies according to age and sex in normal population implying the effect of endocrinological changes associated with the onset of puberty. Further, it was also observed that an elevated sweat osmolality is not unique to cystic fibrosis alone, but seen among the Down's syndrome and some of the mentally retarded cases where in the etiology is traced to the inborn errors of metabolism.

RESUMO

Severe heat stress experienced by aircrew during summer months can cause deterioration in performance. Acute heat stress can also lead to dehydration and loss of electrolytes. Previous studies emphasised the need of K+ replacement. This study was carried out to determine the effect of glucose electrolyte ingestion (ELECTRAL) on thermal strain parameters. Ten healthy male subjects in the age group of 19-43 years were exposed to an acute thermal environment of 50 degrees C Tdb with relative humidity of 30% for 40 min. twice each day on two different days with an interval of one hour in between the exposures. At the beginning of rest period electrolyte solution was ingested during electrolyte trials and water under control trials. Physiological parameters of Tsk, T or, HR and electrolyte concentration of Na+ and K+ in sweat did not show any significant difference in both the trials. Sweat loss was significantly higher during electrolyte trials.
