RESUMEN

Objetivo:

Determinar los factores que influyen en la prevalencia de bullying en estudiantes de los colegios rurales del Cantón Cuenca, Azuay, 2014.

Métodos:

Estudio descriptivo transversal con participación de 493 estudiantes (283 hombres y 210 mujeres), de 11 a 19 años de edad. La selección de la muestra se realizó por aleatorización simple. Los datos se obtu-vieron a través de una encuesta auto-apli-cada, los instrumentos utilizados fueron el cuestionario de intimidación escolar CIE-A (Modificado) y el Test del APGAR Familiar. Los datos se procesaron en el programa SPSS 19.

Resultados:

La prevalencia de bullying en los estudiantes de los colegios rurales del Cantón Cuenca es del 20.0% en mujeres y 17.3% en varones, el acoso fue más evi-dente en estudiantes de octavos, novenos y decimos de básica superior 21.9%. El tipo de agresión más frecuente es el daño a la propiedad 98.6%. Los factores de riesgo en-contrados fueron ambiente escolar desfavorable 71,4%, familiar desfavorable 71.4%, e individual desfavorable 42.2%.

Conclusiones:

Se encontró una prevalencia importante del bullying en los estudiantes de los colegios rurales del cantón Cuenca y existe asociación significativa del mismo con los factores familiar, escolar e individual des-favorables.
ABSTRACT

Objective:

To determine the factors that in-fluence in the prevalence of bullying among students from rural schools in Cuenca, Azuay, 2014

Methods:

A cross-sectional study involving 493 students (283 men and 210 women) from 11 to 19 years old. The sample selection is per-formed by simple randomization. Data were collected through a self-applied survey; the instruments used were the questionnaire bu-llying CIE-A (Modified) and the Test of Family APGAR. The data were processed in SPSS 19 program.

Results:

The prevalence of bullying in the stu-dents from rural high schools in Cuenca is 20.0% in women, and 17.3 in men. The bu-llying was more evident in students from ei-ghth, ninth and tenth year with a 21.9%. The more frequent aggression was the damage to the ownership with a 98.6%. The risk factors found were an unfavorable school environ-ment with a 71.4%, an unfavorable familiar environment also with a 71.4%, and finally a 42.2% unfavorable individual environment.

Conclusions:

A significant prevalence of bu-llying among students in rural schools from Cuenca was found, and there is a significant association with the same family, school and individual factors which are unfavorable.
