RESUMO
Esta pesquisa apresenta os resultados sobre o significado para a família ao ter uma criança com doença crônica. Utilizou-se como método de pesquisa a Teoria Fudamentada nos Dados e como referencial teórico o Interacionismo Simbólico. Foram entrevistadas famílias com crianças com doença crônica, mucoviscidose e diabetes, possibilitando desvelar o processo vivenciado e o significado atribuído pela família a sua experiência. Os dados foram analisados até a fase de categorização dos significados, tendo emergido como fenômeno "Sendo Difícil Não Ter Controle".
ABSTRACT
This research presents the results about the significance to families of having a child with cronic disease. "Grounded Theory" and "Symbolic Interationism" were employed as a methodology and theorectical approach respectively. Families with children with cronic diseases like fibrosis and diabetes were interviewed about the way they cope with this situation and what's the experience meaning for them. Data was analysed until the phase of categorization of meanings and the phenomenm which emerged was "Being hard not to have control".
