Compreendendo a vivência do paciente ao ser cuidado por aluno de enfermagem / Understanding the patient's experience when being cared for by a nursing student

RESUMO

Com o objetivo de conhecer e compreender a vivência do paciente internado em um hospital escola e cuidado por aluno da Disciplina Fundamentos de Enfermagem, foi realizado este estudo, de natureza qualitativa com enfoque fenomenológico. Os dados foram obtidos de 20 sujeitos por intermédio de entrevistas gravadas. A análise dos conteúdos das entrevistas permitiu identificar que o paciente, ao ser cuidado por aluno de enfermagem, percebe-se como RECURSO DE APRENDIZAGEM, mas também como PESSOA, e compara essa assistência com aquela prestada pelo enfermeiro, em que se percebe como OBJETIVO. O relato da vivência de momentos em que se percebeu como recurso, pessoa e objeto conduziu à compreensão de que ao ser cuidado por aluno, O PACIENTE PROCURA SE AFIRMAR COMO PESSOA.

ABSTRACT

The present study of qualitative nature and supported by a phenomenological approach was carried out in order to become acquainted and understand teh patient's experience when hospitalized in a teaching-hospital and assisted by an attending the Nursing Fundamentals Discipline nursing student. Data were obtained from 20 subjects by means of tape-recorded interviwes. The interviws' content analysis anabled to verify that the patient, when assisted by a nursing student, perceives himself/herself not only as a LEARNING RESOURCE, but also a PERSON, and compares that assistance with the one provided by the practicing nurse when the patient perceives himself/herself as an OBJECT. The patient's report of the experienced moments perceived as resource, person and object, led to the understanding that while assisted by a nursing student, THE PATIENT SEEKS ASSERT HIMSELF/HERSELF AS A PERSON.
