Objetivos:
Conhecer o perfil de crianças e adolescentes internados por diabetes mellitus em hospital de referência do SUS.Métodos:
estudo transversal a partir de dados clínicos coletados dos prontuários médicos eletrônicos e dos registros de internação.Resultado:
Entre janeiro de 2012 a julho de 2018 foram internadas 66 crianças e adolescentes por diabetes. A idade média ao diagnóstico do DM foi de 8,3+3,9 anos. A maioria delas teve o diagnóstico de diabetes realizado durante a fase escolar ou durante a adolescência, sendo a CAD a manifestação inicial mais frequente. Estas 66 crianças e adolescentes geraram um total de 120 internações. As internações foram mais frequentes durante a adolescência e ocorreram em função do diagnóstico do diabetes ou em consequência de um quadro de CAD.Conclusão:
O presente estudo permitiu conhecer o perfil das crianças e adolescentes internados por diabetes em hospital de referencia do SUS em Blumenau-SC. O perfil encontrado caracterizou-se por um pico de diagnóstico em escolares e adolescentes, maior ocorrência de internações durante a adolescência, e principais causas de internações o momento do diagnóstico e a CAD.ABSTRACT

Describe the Diabetes Mellitus hospitalized children and adolescent's profile at a referral hospital of SUS.Methods:
cross-sectional study based on clinical data collected from electronic medical records and records of hospitalization.Results:
Between 2012 and July 2018, 66 hospitalized patients related to DM were evaluated. The mean age at the diagnosis was 8,3 years +3,9. Most of them had the diagnosis of DM performed during school years or during adolescence. KAD was the most frequent initial manifestation. These 66 children and adolescents caused a total of 120 hospitalizations. These hospitalizations were more frequent during adolescence and occurred due to the diagnosis of diabetes or as a result of KAD.Conclusion:
The present study showed the profile of children and adolescents hospitalized for diabetes at a referral hospital of SUS in Blumenau-SC. The profile found was characterized by a diagnostic peak in schoolchildren and adolescents, a higher occurrence of hospitalizations during adolescence, and time of diagnosis and CAD as main cause of hospitalization.
