Cuidar do lesado medular em casa vivência singular do cuidador familiar / Care of spinal cord injuried patient at home

RESUMO

Cuidar do lesado medular em casa é um aspecto da realidade vivenciada pela família e principalmente pelo cuidador familiar. Os objetivos deste trabalho são conhecer o cuidador familiar do lesado caracterizando-o, identificando o seu suporte familiar e os cuidados realizados em casa, bem como conhecer as expectativas deste cuidador familiar quanto à reabilitação do lesado medular. Para tanto, foram elaborados capítulos sequenciais com títulos que apontavam a peculiaridade de cada um deles. Das entrevistas estruturadas realizadas junto a 30 cuidadores familiares de pessoas com lesão medular, obteve-se resultados que evidenciam a mulher enquanto cuidadora por excelência e os cuidados por ela implementados em casa, pressupondo o pareamento, com outras atividades domésticas e com outras pessoas da família. O cuidador desenvolve cuidados tanto no âmbito físico como emocional e psicossocial mesmo que com poucas informações sobre a magnitude deste cuidar. As expectativas reveladas pelo cuidador quanto à reabilitação do lesado medular, são na sua maioria positivas e relativas às esperanças quanto á locomoção independente ou, pelo menos, auxiliada, bem como o alívio da dor. Assim procurou-se contextualizar o cuidar em casa pautado na questão do gênero e nas perspectivas histórica, cultural e social do Brasil.

ABSTRACT

Care of spinal cord injuried patient at home is a reality aspect lived by family and especially by the caregiver. The objectives of this work are to know the caregiver of the spinal cord injuried patient and to characterize him and to identify his familiar support and contribution of care achieved at home and also to know the expectations of this caregiver as regards to the rehabilitation of the spinal cord injuried patient. For this reason we elaborated sequentials chapters with titles that indicate the peculiarity of each one. From the structured interviews achieved nestto 30 caregivers of spinal cord injuried people and it obtained results that evidence the woman as a caregiver par excellence and the cares implemented by her at home, and pressuppose the comparison to other domestics activities and with other people from the family. The caregiver have been developed cares as much in the physical extent as emotional and psychosocial extent even though with few information about the magnitude of this care. The disclosed expectation by the caregiver a regards to the rehabilitation of the spinal cord injuried patient are in most of positives and refering to the hopes as regards to the independent locomotion or at least an assistance locomotion as well as the pain relief. Therefore we have been tried to totalize the care at home based on the question of king and in the historical, cultural and social perspective of Brazil
