Maria, Maria: concepções sobre ser mulher em situação de rua / Maria, Maria: conceptions about being a woman in a street situation

RESUMO

Este estudo investigou as concepções de mulheres em situação de rua em Porto Alegre, RS, Brasil, sobre ser mulher nesse contexto. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório de cunho qualitativo descritivo, tendo os dados submetidos à Análise Temática. Participaram da pesquisa seis mulheres em situação de rua e o instrumento utilizado foi uma entrevista semiestruturada elaborada pelas pesquisadoras. Foi constatado que as principais concepções sobre ser mulher referem-se às violências as quais estão submetidas devido ao gênero e à impossibilidade de exercerem a maternidade da forma idealizada. Dentre as violências vivenciadas, são denunciados casos de abusos físicos, verbais e sexuais, sendo provindos de cônjuges, ex-companheiros, desconhecidos ou instituições protetivas, como a polícia local. Além disso, foi observado o sofrimento das entrevistadas por estarem afastadas de seus filhos, bem como os esforços realizados para reverter tal situação.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to investigate the conceptions of homeless women in Porto Alegre, Brazil, about being a woman in this context. This is an exploratory, qualitative and descriptive study, with data submitted to the Thematic Analysis. Six homeless women were interviewed and the instrument used was a semi-structured interview elaborated by the researchers. It was found that the main conceptions about being women refer to the violence they are subjected to due to gender and the impossibility of exercising the maternity in the idealized way. Among the violence experienced, cases of physical, verbal and sexual abuse are reported, being partners, ex-partners, strangers or protective institutions, such as the organs of public security. Moreover, the women's suffering was noted for being away from their children, as well as the efforts made to reverse this situation.
