La formación por competencias en la especialidad de Psiquiatría: una disertación necesaria / Training by competences in the specialty of Psychiatry: a necessary dissertation

RESUMEN

RESUMEN Introducción: la formación actual de especialistas en Psiquiatría requiere un análisis sistémico, flexible y dinámico, donde primen los avances científicos en la especialidad y la formación de valores humanos. Objetivo: analizar el estado actual de la formación por competencias del especialista en Psiquiatría. Métodos: se realizó una revisión bibliográfica actualizada en el Hospital Provincial Psiquiátrico Universitario "DrC. Luis San Juan Pérez" de Villa Clara, entre enero-marzo 2019. Se emplearon los recursos disponibles en Infomed, específicamente Ebsco, PubMed y SciELO para acceder a las bases de datos: MEDLINE, Academic Search Premier, MedicLatina y Scopus, y en textos y artículos impresos de varios países, particularizando en Cuba. Empleando el método analítico, se revisaron 32 artículos científicos, el 96,8 % de los últimos cinco años. Resultados: se constató el incremento del modelo pedagógico de formación por competencias en especialistas en Psiquiatría, y aunque existen diferencias en su aplicabilidad en las diferentes naciones, su empleo contribuye a una mejor atención a la salud mental; existe el reto de priorizar las labores de prevención y fomentar la preparación sistemática de los psiquiatras como docentes. En el contexto de la educación médica cubana actual esta formación por competencias es compatible con la organización del proceso docente educativo donde se integran medularmente la asistencia, docencia e investigación. Conclusiones: se realizó una revisión de la problemática planteada y se constató la situación favorable en que se encuentra actualmente la formación por competencias de los especialistas en Psiquiatría.

ABSTRACT Background: the current training of specialists in Psychiatry requires a systemic, flexible and dynamic analysis, where scientific advances in the specialty and the formation of human values prevail. Objective: to analyze the current state of the training by competences of the specialist in Psychiatry. Methods: an updated bibliographic review was carried out at "Ph D Luis San Juan Pérez" Provincial Psychiatric University Hospital from Villa Clara, from January to March 2019. The resources available in Infomed, specifically Ebsco, PubMed and SciELO, were used to access the databases: MEDLINE, Academic Search Premier, MedicLatina and Scopus, and in texts and printed articles from several countries, particularizing in Cuba. Using the analytical method, 32 scientific articles were reviewed, 96,8 percent of the last five years. Results: the increase of the pedagogical model of competency-based training in psychiatric specialists was confirmed, and although there are differences in its applicability in different nations, its use contributes to a better attention to mental health; there is a challenge to prioritize prevention work and encourage the systematic preparation of psychiatrists as teachers. In the context of current Cuban medical education, this competency-based training is compatible with the organization of the educational process, where medical care, teaching and research are integrated. Conclusions: a review on this issue was carried out and the favorable current situation of the training by competences of the specialist in Psychiatry was stated.
