Los investigadores que necesitamos (en el Sistema de Salud de Cienfuegos) / The researchers we need (in the Health System of Cienfuegos)

RESUMEN

RESUMEN Se ratifica la importancia de la actividad de ciencia y técnica en el Sistema de Salud cubano y cienfueguero, así como la necesidad de nuevos investigadores y nuevos resultados científicos, para avanzar en el desarrollo próspero y sostenible que se desea en nuestro país. Se sugieren las características principales de los investigadores que se necesitan y se proponen cinco grupos, con énfasis en los que aborden problemas científicos relacionados con la atención clínica individual de las personas, la organización de los servicios de salud y las acciones propias de Salud Pública en la población, así como en la formación del capital humano. Se hace énfasis en aquellos que, por haber "transitado" previamente por la práctica profesional por tiempo suficiente, sepan cómo convertir un problema clínico o de salud pública (asistencial, docente, o de gestión) en un problema de investigación y darle respuesta con una metodología adecuada. Se insiste en la implementación de los resultados y su evaluación apropiada por investigadores y autoridades, teniendo en cuenta que el reto actual es compatibilizar nuevas estrategias de formación que se ofrecen, con el potencial que se tiene y las reales necesidades de investigación. Aunque el interés principal de este trabajo se dirige al Sistema Provincial de Salud de Cienfuegos, un grupo de las ideas aquí expresadas pudieran ser de utilidad en otros contextos del país, siempre teniendo en cuenta los objetivos particulares y las características propias de cada lugar.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT The importance of science and technique in the Cuban and Cienfuegos Health System is addressed, as well as the need for new researchers and new scientific results, to achieve the desired prosperous and sustainable development in our country. The main characteristics of the needed researchers are suggested and five groups are proposed, with emphasis on those who work on scientific problems related to the individual clinical care, the organization of health services and the actions of Public Health in the population, as well as in the formation of human capital. Emphasis is placed on those who, having previous professional experience enough time, know how to turn a clinical or public health problem (care, teaching, or management) into a research problem and solve it with an appropriate methodology. Emphasis is placed on the results implementation and their appropriate evaluation by researchers and authorities. It is necessary to consider that the current challenge is to reconcile new training strategies offered, with the available potential and the real research needs. Although the main interest of this work is directed to the Provincial Health System of Cienfuegos, some of the ideas expressed here could be useful in other contexts of the country, on the basis of taking into account the particular objectives and characteristics of each place.
