Alternativa terapéutica para el tratamiento de la hipertensión arterial en adultos mayores / Therapeutic alternative for the treatment of hypertension in older adults

RESUMEN

RESUMEN La hipertensión arterial es un problema de salud pública que genera altos costos financieros y sociales por su alta prevalencia, su larga duración, dependencia de la farmacoterapia múltiple y sus complicaciones con frecuencia de carácter letal. En consecuencia, se llevó una investigación con el objetivo de desarrollar una alternativa terapéutica, para el tratamiento de la hipertensión arterial en adultos mayores desde las áreas terapéuticas. En los adultos mayores investigados hasta el 70 % tiene más de 65 años, de ellos el 60 % fueron mujeres. Se observó que la presión arterial diastólica fue de 90 mm de Hg, mientras que la presión sistólica superior de 150 mm de Hg. Se empleó el sistema estadístico SPSS 11.5. Los resultados se enunciaron en frecuencias absolutas y porcentajes. Los beneficiarios tenían muchas variaciones en la frecuencia de la crisis hipertensiva, situación que varió de manera significativa, a partir de la aplicación de la propuesta.

ABSTRACT High blood pressure is a public health problem that generates high financial and social costs due to its high prevalence, long duration, dependence on multiple pharmacotherapy and its often lethal complications. Consequently, an investigation was carried out with the objective of developing a therapeutic alternative, for the treatment of hypertension in older adults from the therapeutic areas. In older adults investigated up to 70% are over 65 years of age, of them 60% were women and it was observed that diastolic blood pressure was 90 mm Hg, while the upper systolic pressure was 150 mm Hg. The statistical system SPSS 11.5 was used. The results were expressed in absolute frequencies and percentages. The beneficiaries had many variations in the frequency of hypertensive crisis, a situation that varied significantly, from the application of the proposal.
