Concepciones sobre la sexualidad en adolescentes de una escuela primaria en el sur de Chile / Perceptions of adolescent sexuality from a primary school in southern Chile

RESUMEN

RESUMEN Introducción: En Chile son múltiples las inquietudes en cuanto al tratamiento de la sexualidad y sus ámbitos, lo cual ha provocado tensiones tanto en lo político como en lo educativo. Por ello, el objetivo del presente estudio es analizar las concepciones de adolescentes sobre sexualidad y su relación con el currículo escolar. Método: Se realizó una investigación cualitativa durante el período 2018, en una escuela primaria de la comuna de Castro, Región de Los Lagos, Chile. Se seleccionó una muestra de 25 estudiantes, 15 del sexo femenino y 10 del sexo masculino de entre 12 y 14 años, que cursaban 7° año de enseñanza primaria. Se utilizaron técnicas de asociación libre de palabras, grupos focales, y la triangulación de datos como metodología fundamental de análisis. Resultados: Se observó que las concepciones de los estudiantes respecto a la sexualidad se presentan de manera estructurada y que se restringe al currículo escolar. Se concluyó que las concepciones de la sexualidad de los estudiantes se identifican únicamente con las relaciones sexuales y en particular con el acto sexual. Se manifiesta un posicionamiento débil respecto a la autonomía sobre el ejercicio placentero y responsable de su sexualidad. Esto es causado por el pobre manejo de información sobre sexualidad. Los estudiantes mostraron interés en temas sensibles como la homosexualidad, el embarazo y las infecciones de transmisión sexual. Discusión: Se confrontan los resultados con presupuestos y sugerencias de investigadores del tema que responden a las necesidades de los estudiantes adolescentes para fortalecer la educación sexual en la escuela primaria.

ABSTRACT Introduction: In Chile, the worries are multiple as for the treatment of the sexuality and its ambiences, which has provoked tensions both in the political thing and in the educational thing. For it, the objective of the present study is to analyze the adolescents´ conceptions on sexuality and their relation with the school curriculum. Method: A qualitative investigation was carried out during the period 2018, in an elementary school of Castro's commune, Region of The Lagos, Chile. A sample of 25 students was selected, 15 of the feminine sex and 10 of the masculine sex of between 12 and 14 years, which were studying 7 year of elementary education. There were used techniques of free association of words, focus group, and the information triangulation as main analysis methodology. Results: It was observed that the conceptions of the students with regard to the sexuality appear in a structured way and that it is restricted to the school curriculum. It was concluded that the conceptions of the sexuality of the students are identified only with the sexual relations and in particular with the sexual act. A weak position is evident with regard to the autonomy on the pleasant and responsible exercise of sexuality. This is caused by the poor information management about sexuality. The students showed interest in sensitive topics like the homosexuality, the pregnancy and the infections of sexual transmission. Discussion: The results are confronted with budgets and investigators' suggestions of the topic that they answer to the needs of the adolescent students to strengthen the sex education in the elementary school.
