RESUMEN
La neumonía asociada la ventilador constituye la infección nosocomial más frecuente en terapia intensiva, pese a ello en el país no contamos con cifras reales sobre la magnitud del problema. en el presente trabajo se revisan los primeros resultados de un estudio prospectivo, con miras a establecer los factores de riesgo y se señalan las medidas de prevención que se recomiendan actualmente.
ABSTRACT
Ventilator-associated pneumonia is the most frequent nosocomial infection in intensive care, despite this, in the country we do not have real figures on the magnitude of the problem. In this work, the first results of a prospective study are reviewed, with a view to establishing risk factors and the prevention measures currently recommended are indicated.
