RESUMO
O objetivo do estudo foi comparar os indicadores do estilo de vida de escolares do ensino fundamental e médio de Ilhabela. A amostra foi composta por 400 escolares (11-18 anos) que faziam parte do Projeto Misto-Longitudinal de Crescimento, Desenvolvimento e Aptidão Física de Ilhabela. Foram aferidos massa corporal, a estatura e com posterior cálculo do índice de massa corporal (IMC) para classificação dos escolares em eutrófico, excesso de peso ou obesidade de acordo com as curvas padrão da Organização Mundial da Saúde. Além disso, foram analisados indicadores de estilo de vida (transporte para escola, tempo de tela, TV no quarto, tempo de sono e dieta), atividade física (AF) e tempo sentado (TS) obtidos através de questionários. Foi utilizado o teste t de studente o teste do qui-quadrado na comparação dos resultados entre ensino fundamental e médio. A média de idade dos grupos ensino fundamental e médio foi 12,6 (DP 1) e 16,0 (DP 0,8) anos, respectivamente. Diferenças significantes entre os de tensino médio e fundamental foram observadas com relação à utilização de transporte ativo para a escola (20% x 48%, respectivamente), não atingir as recomendações de so n o (7 0,3% x 4 7,8%, respectivamente), e escore de alimentação saudável (3,61 x 3,86, respectivamente). Maior tempo gasto em AF leve foi encontrado no ensino médio (372,4 min x 281,1 min, respectivamente). Não houve diferenças entre os grupos quanto ao tempo gasto em AF moderada e vigorosa e o tempo sentado. Conclui-se que os alunos do ensino fundamental e médio apresentam comportamentos diferentes no tipo de transporte usado para escola, no tempo de sono e no gasto de AF com intensidade leve, assim como na alimentação. ABSTRACT
The objective of the study was to compare the lifestyle indicators of elementary an d h igh school students of Ilhabela. The sample was composed by 400 schoolchildren (11-18 years old) was p art of the Mixed-Longitudinal Growth, Development and Physical Fitness Project of Ilhabela. Weight, height, and subsequent body mass index (BMI) were calculated for the classification of studen ts in eut ro phic, overweight or obese according to the World Health Organization standard curves. In addit ion , lifesty le indicators (school transportation, screen time, TV in the bedroom, sleep and diet time), physical activ ity (PA) and sitting time (ST) were analyzed through questionnaires. The student's T-test and the chi-square test were used to compare the results between lementary and high school. The mean age of primary an d secondary education groups was 12.6 (SD 1) e 16,0 (SD 0,8) years, respectively. Significant differences between high school and elementary school were observed in the use of active transportation t o sch oo l (20% x 48%, respectively), and did not reach sleep recommendations (70.3% vs. 47.8%, respectively), and score of healthy eating (3.61 x 3.86, respectively). Longer time spent on light PA was found in high school (372.4 min x 281.1 min, respectively). There were no differences between the groups regarding t he time spent in moderate and vigorous PA and ST. It is concluded that elementary an d h igh sch oo l studen ts present different behaviors in the type of transportation used for school, in sleep time and in the expenditure of PA with light intensity, as well as in food. Intervention strategies and changes in lifestyle should be different among elementary and high school students...(AU)
