Calidad de vida relacionada con la salud de acuerdo a características de género y vulnerabilidad social de estudiantes universitarios de primer año / Health related quality of life according to characteristics of gender and social vulnerability of first year university students

RESUMEN

El artículo presenta algunos de los resultados de un estudio realizado por la Vicerrectoría de Asuntos Estudiantiles de la Universidad de Chile para caracterizar la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud (cvrS) en estudiantes de primer año.Objetivo: Caracterizar la población estudiantil de primer año en la universidad de chile en relación a la cvrS, a través de la aplicación del Test Kidscreen-52, analizando variables de género y vulnerabilidad escolar.Método: Estudio observacional, transversal y analítico en estudiantes de 17 a 18 años de primer año. Se aplicó a estudiantes de la universidad chile en 2015, 2016 el test KS52, enviado por correo electrónico. 1.277 (34,16%) estudiantes contestaron la encuesta el año 2015 y 1052 ( 26,59%) en 2016. El análisis se realizó con el programa WinStePS y expresión con puntajes Rasch.Resultados: Las dimensiones críticas son Bienestar Físico, Estado de Ánimo y Emociones y Autonomía. Los puntajes más bajos se presentan en estudiantes mujeres y en los con mayor vulnerabilidadConclusiones: El estudio generó una caracterización parcial de los estudiantes universitarios basada en resultados de un test psicométrico, integrando dimensiones que habitualmente no son consideradas en las políticas universitarias y que podrían orientar acciones para mejorar la calidad de vida y la salud de los y las estudiantes.

ABSTRACT

Presentation of the analysis of some of the results of a study carried out by the Vice-rectorship of Student Affairs of the University of Chile to characterize the Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) in first-year students.Objective: To characterize the first-year student population at the University of Chile in relation to hrQol, through the application of the Kidscreen-52 Test, analyzing variables of gender and school vulnerability.Method: Observational, transversal and analytical study in students from 17 to 18 years of age. The KS52 test, sent by email, was applied in 2015, 2016. 1,277 (34.16%) students answered the survey in 2015 and 1052 (26.59%) in 2016. Analysis with WinStePS program and expression with Rasch scores.Results: The critical dimensions are Physical Wellbeing, Mood and Emotions and Autonomy. The lowest scores occur in female students and those with the highest vulnerabilityConclusions: The study generated a characterization of university students based on the results of a psychometric test, integrating dimensions that are not usually considered in university policies and that could guide actions to improve the quality of life and health of students.
