Mulheres em situação de pobreza extrema: gênero, raça e classe social / Women in extreme poverty: gender, race and social class

RESUMO

Este estudo objetiva compreender as vulnerabilidades de gênero, raça e classe social vivenciadas por mulheres em situação de pobreza extrema no município de Porto Alegre. Com abordagem etnográfica, utiliza como dispositivo a vivência no território da Vila Nazaré, constituída por uma população que vive em situação de baixa renda. As informações foram produzidas em uma Unidade de Saúde da Atenção Primária por meio de registros em diário de campo de consultas, visitas domiciliares e grupos de educação em saúde. Analisou ­se vulnerabilidades de gênero que afetam as mulheres a partir de três marcadores (1) gravidez precoce e indesejada, ( 2 ) medicalização feminina e (3) epidemia de AIDS. O local vive à margem da sociedade e nele predominam vulnerabilidades relavas à pobreza extrema, exclusão, violências, tráfico de drogas e prostituição feminina. É necessário evidenciar as consequências sociais da pobreza em sociedades patriarcais para que sejam instituídas práticas de cuidado integral pelos serviços de saúde.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to understand the gender, race and social class vulnerabilities experienced by women in extreme poverty in the city of Porto Alegre. With an ethnographic approach, it uses as a device the experience in the territory of Vila Nazaré, constituted by a population that lives in a low income situation. The information was produced in a Primary Care Health Unit through field diary records of consultations, home visits and health education groups. Gender vulnerabilities affecting women were analyzed from three markers (1) early and unwanted pregnancy, (2) female medicalization, and (3) AIDS epidemic. The place lives on the fringes of society, and vulnerabilities related to extreme poverty, exclusion, violence, drug trafficking and female prostitution predominate. It is necessary to highlight the social consequences of poverty in patriarchal societies for the establishment of comprehensive care practices by health services.
