O Grupo de Trabalho Racismo e Saúde Mental do Ministério da Saúde: a saúde mental da população negra como questão / The Racism and Mental Health Work Group at the Ministry of Health: mental health of the black population as an issue

RESUMO

RESUMO O estudo teve como objetivo analisar os enunciados acerca do tema racismo e saúde mental, sob o enfoque da população negra. Os enunciados foram sustentados por sujeitos relacionados com o processo do Grupo de Trabalho Racismo e Saúde Mental no Ministério da Saúde. Buscou-se compreender as problemáticas sobre racismo e saúde mental, assim como os desafios de inclusão no enfrentamento ao racismo na Reforma Psiquiátrica. Foram realizadas entrevistas, revisão bibliográfica, análise de atas e de documentos relacionados com o grupo. Constataram-se problemas com relação à formação dos trabalhadores na saúde mental; indicaram-se as assimetrias raciais presentes no campo da saúde mental; a falta de sensibilidade étnico-racial na Rede de Atenção Psicossocial e a necessidade de acolhimento do sofrimento psíquico atravessado pelo racismo. Esse sofrimento psíquico não apareceu como destaque diante da clínica da Reforma Psiquiátrica, seja pela não inclusão da temática, seja pelas dificuldades dos serviços em acolher sujeitos em tal condição.

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT The study aimed to analyze the statements about the theme of racism and mental health, focusing on the black population. The statements were supported by subjects related to the process of the Racism and Mental Health Work Group at the Ministry of Health. We sought to understand the issues about racism and mental health, as well as the challenges of inclusion in coping with racism in the Psychiatric Reform. Interviews, literature review, analysis of minutes, and documents related to the group were conducted. Problems were found regarding the training of workers in Mental Health; racial asymmetries in the field of mental health were indicated; the lack of ethnic-racial sensibility in the Psychosocial Care Network; and the need to embrace the psychic suffering crossed by racism. Such psychic suffering did not come out as a highlight before the Psychiatric Reform clinic, whether due to the non-inclusion of the theme, or to the difficulties of the services in embracing the subjects in such condition.
