RESUMO

O objetivo desta revisão integrativa é analisar a utilização do Maslach Burnout Inventory - Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) em pesquisas brasileiras sobre a Síndrome de Burnout em profissionais de saúde. Foi realizada, em maio de 2019, busca sistemática nas bases de dados BVS Enfermagem, Index Psicologia, LILACS, MedLine e na SciELO com a combinação dos descritores "esgotamento profissional", "pessoal de saúde" e "Síndrome de Burnout" no título, resumo e assunto dos artigos. Buscaram-se textos em inglês, português e espanhol, publicados entre 2013 e 2019 e com amostra de profissionais de saúde. De 1.614 artigos, 31 compuseram a amostra desta revisão. Verificou-se uma diversidade de denominações das dimensões da síndrome, nas escalas tipo Likert adotadas, nos métodos de classificação das pontuações das subescalas e de rastreamento da síndrome. Concluiu-se que o MBI-HSS tem sido empregado de distintas formas para analisar a síndrome de Burnout em profissionais de saúde, assim, essa falta de padronização pode gerar confusão entre os pesquisadores e dificultar a comparação entre os resultados das pesquisas.

ABSTRACT

The objective of this integrative review is to analyze the use of the Maslach Burnout Inventory - Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) in Brazilian research on Burnout Syndrome in healthcare professionals. In May 2019, a systematic search of the VHL Nursing, Psychology Index, LILACS, MedLine, and SciELO databases was carried out with the combination of the keywords "professional burnout", "health personnel", and "Burnout Syndrome" in the title, summary and subject of the articles. The search included texts in English, Portuguese and Spanish published between 2013 and 2019 and with a sample of health professionals. From a total of 1,614 articles, 31 of them comprised the sample of this review. There was a diversity of denominations of the dimensions of the syndrome, in the Likert-type scales adopted, in the methods of classifying the subscale scores and of tracking the syndrome. It can be concluded that the MBI-HSS has been used in different ways to analyze Burnout syndrome in health professionals, thus, this lack of standardization can generate confusion among researchers and makes it difficult to compare research results.
